I presume what matters is the surface area of the boundary between the soak away and the soil. The larger area the more soakaway. The crates let you pump more volume of liquid in and it can soakaway at leisure. Whereas the gravel only let in 5% of volume in. These crates are plastic! Do they last? Gravel does unless I presume it fills up with solids. Can you drive a car overthem?
