Totally! This 268 HP 3.5L V-6 with the 6-speed auto is just as fast, and in some cases, even slightly faster than the newer 301 HP 3.5L V-6 with the 8-speed auto versions... I've noticed that some of the 8 & 9-speed autos in certain vehicles are geared more for comfort and economy instead of acceleration with taller gearing like 8-speed auto Trans in the new Camry V-6 for example... The 6-speed auto is still a great and well rounded transmission that improves acceleration and fuel economy over their older 4 & 5-speed auto transmissions. @@StormAutoAdventures The 301hp has to be faster though? It's got 30+ more hp and a faster gearbox. The issue is this cars platform and fwd just isn't suited for such power. It needs much better brakes and a better balanced suspension.
@@DMCarReviews No offense but I'd rather have a Toyota over a BMW. Beams are notorious for having problems left and right, and they're stupid expensive to maintain/repair. Toyota's are so much cheaper, way more reliable, and hell people won't expect a modified Camry it's potential sleeper.

This one was just borderline salvage...113K miles, half repainted, probably rewelded, and was in much worse condition than my 05' Volvo XC70 I had with 200K miles was. At the very end of the video (vs. E400) the brakes just stopped working. I was barely able to stop at all... It was scary.
Hello,Here in Brazil this car is not so popular, it is successful and the toyta corolla not this Corolla that you have more the European model Corolla ,But I like camry.
Hey! I would not recommend this as a first performance daily at all. For comfortable cruising, sure. The brakes are very poor and weak, along with major wheel hop (if accelerating from a light), and floaty handling. It's an easy car to get yourself into a bad situation. If you want a good performance car in this price range, I'd say look at a pre-owned BMW 335i/340i, BMW M240i, or if you need a bigger car, a BMW 550i (ideally 2014+ which has all the best updates). Other good alternatives are an Audi A6 3.0T, or a Mercedes E350/E550. In the case where you just want a Japanese car, I would say get the Infiniti Q50 3.0T. Hope this helps.
@@DMCarReviews I should of been more specific, but like you said it would be good for comfortable crusing and that's what I'm looking for, so I think it would be a good car for me. BMW E9X 335i is also a car I will considered because of the N54, but not very cheap to work on! Maybe a 328i. Thanks!
A BMW fanboy to dog on a Toyota. A Camry like this would be a great cruiser as long as it was well taken care of and has a meticulous service history. Plenty of power and comfort. Judging by the condition of this example with the ripped seat I could understand why the reviewer would say the brakes and suspension was bad.. they probably were bad, most likely neglected. And I also see the reviewer said in another comment he thought the car might have been in accident or two and that would affect the performance of it as well, the handling and braking job. Were the tires good, were they properly inflated?? This reviewer just seemed to want to dog and race a test drive car out on crowded public street and run the pss out of it just for the Hell of it. I wouldn't listen to someone that let a license plate hang on the back bumper like that to scratch it up.. even if I was testing the car I would tell the dealer/salesman to properly affix the plate out of respect for the car. The SE model over this XLE would give you a tighter suspension and better brakes because it is a sport model. The XLE is more luxury oriented, think Lexus ride it will have a softer suspension/ride, it isn't a European sports car made for driving 100+ mph the autobahn.
