I am a solo Medical Rescue and Transport player. Thanks for the information and elaborating more on medical gameplay. The Cutlass Red is my daily driver regardless the mission! Subbed/Liked
True, hopefully we’ll see it develop with more complexity as a loop in the future. Still right now there’s a big gap between good medics and medics who need improvement 😂
I learned, as I got into the game with a C8R as my starter ship pledge, that the medical beacons were just used in the game as a primary means for pirates to get an easy mark. There are whole orgs that use the medical beacons as a way of targeting rescue game play users. Does it sound like fun going around and helping rescue other players that got dropped in a FPS fight with npcs or other players, going in to save others whos ships got lost or damaged beyond repair, or reaching out to others in the game to pull them out of a bug or glitch that has them trapped? Yes, fun and useful and a benefit to the whole community. In reality, even after taking several game sessions to see if the rescue beacon bait has died off, best outcome I have had is 7 of 10 were pirate bait, 2 were beacons canceled in route or player backspaced and one was a transport player to station because they had their ship blown up at a bunker by NPC ships. So like many things sound great in SC, it is best taken with a dumpster load of reality salt. Lot of time, no real value. But I find the C8R a great little ship for bunker runs, surface bounties, package deliveries and scavenging boxes from ships that blow up around stations with loot in them. The rear hatch opens wide enough for even the 2SCU box and with some good flight skills you just back up to collect them.
@@LoudGuns may be the servers I am on. different locations get different community members, but the first three I was on I was shot down by the guy that called the beacon, second two were in caves on moons around Orison. All on my first session in game. As far as unluck goes, it is what it is, I started looking up the pirate orgs and found out they were using beacons for easy marks a while after that, but it is what it is, that is the way the community roles on the servers I get on.
While I have never taken a medical beacon nor do I doubt your experiences, I struggle to find the logic of using medical beacons for pirating. After word has spread that the beacons are being abused you would think rescuers would be prepared to lose everything and therefore wear crappy free bunker armor and carry a P4. Even so I personally never leave my spawn in anything I want to lose and fully expect to lose everything multiple times a session. Wear nothing nice, carry nothing nice and always prepare to lose all your shit. My point is after the first couple of time pirates wasted a bunch of time for an empty Pisces, crappy bunker armor and literally the easiest weapon ever to obtain, they would move on IDK. I hear that it indeed happens so I truly believe your events but it doesn’t make any sense. Either way hopefully a reputation system will fix this in the future because it’s clearly an issue and breaks a critical game component. Cheers.
@@TastyChickenLegs that does not take away from what the pirates basic efforts are. Forced interactions to create a conflict with another player that they can easily be victorious at. The illusion and justifications pirates put out are just thinly vailed excuses for what they are doing. Getting stuff is never the goal. Getting stuff is free and easy. Pvp is easier and faster in arena commander. And beacon baiting is just one tool, when it is no longer easy to pull in marks they try other tactics. Come back to it when it's use is not so much expected.
@@Volf1916 very good point. I was naively thinking there was purpose behind their actions. The pirates I’ve come in contact with have robbed my cargo when I was making poor choices but otherwise had a few tips and never actually killed me. Clearly there are those not cut from the same cloth. That’s pitiful and pathetic. I was considering doing rescue missions as I was a paramedic for 20 years and it still excites me. I will wait until this mechanic is a bit more fleshed out. Thanks again.
Call out for the Carrack and being solo rescuer, as happened to me this week when responding to a beacon, being able to respawn on the Carrack can be really helpful!
I heard CIG is working on medical play when you accept the beacon it auto shares the clients mission adding you to their mission and "friendly" security bunkers won't shoot, that would be awesome if that could be added in the game.
I always pay a bonus for a rev - usually about 25K but I'd like to see medical insurance levels in the future. So, you pay a certain amount for a level of beacon that is only open to high level medics and pays out more credits. 100K for example. Perhaps even time bonuses.
Yeah I feel the beacon system is in line for an overhaul. Like maybe available medics with good rep could set it up so you send the beacon only to them, but they could set their price at 100K?
Cutty Red is one of my favorite daily drivers, and medical rescue is one of my favorite things to do. I also really like using my Carrack as a mothership for my C8R, unless i need to drive to a bunker. Also, i always tip my rescuer when I'm the one being revived.
Great tips&tricks! Took my first beacon in a pisces rescue today. Went in solo, because I'm that guy, and got paid 50k. That enemy turret business is kinda annoying tho.
Great vid. 100% agree on the medgun. Med gameplay is already shallow enough and the autodrug just feels so cheap. Let us actually do something CIG! I also think it would be cool if they totally removed injury indicators from the FPS HUD so that the medic has to be the one to analyze the injury. That way as an FPS player you have to make a decision when injured... do you tough it out and carry on, or go seek help immediately?
16:08 A rule of thumb I've discovered with your trick is that all planet systems except ArcCorp have an outer diameter of around 90k, ArcCrop's is around 240k.
I have always been solely interested in future medical gameplay, the most! My only 2 concept purchases are medical based. First with the Endeavor being all I ever wanted for my hospital ship, then of course an Apollo ship for search and rescue. My Org has 2 branches. The first can be more compared to coastguards of the modern world (Medical, search and rescue, and if necessary, purely defensive light combat). The second branch of our org is our Expeditionary Fleet. Which is exactly what it sounds like. They will be our explorers, adventurers and more capable for full scale combat to defend of itself or the medical fleet. These were my teenage and undergraduate dreams for SC. Now as a fully licensed pharmacist lol, I am losing faith🤣 Excellent video! It tapped into nostalgia, reminding me of the passion we use to have for our intended roles!☺🤗
Once I extracted a patient from an 890 Jump because the place was very complicated and the medgun got bugged and I ad to move him to my Cuttie Red and into the bed to revive, I also give him some drink to go
I spent 6 hours as a first aider at a ship meet at Daymar today. We only had 1 accident that needed a revive, otherwise I was just handing out water and food to the attendees. Had great interactions. Made greatt friends. Shot a griefer trying to fly off with my ambulance. All in all, the most fun I ever had in SC. Medic profession is the way to go.
Btw to edit for current day. The medgun doesnt always detect the injured part or auto do the meds properly and will use the wrong type sometimes. Edit: While i was out today Medrunner responded to a rescue beacon i had on Orison Platforms. They were rather quick and professional.
great vid man, i'm new to this game, rightnow i'm playing with 4.0, was trying to play some medical rescue mission, but there is no marker or location indicator what's so ever after i accept the mission, is that a bug? supposed to give you location of that player right?
Cyclone is really the only ground vehicle I can see being worth using to get to bunkers, cyclone rc for speed especially. Seeing as the cutty red can't fit a cyclone and leave room to enter and exit I don't really see the reason for using a cutty red over a c8r other than the quantum drive. Not to mention drake ships don't exactly scream "clean and steril environment"
As NPC behavior picks up, it's getting harder to just waltz around any remaining security forces still protecting the bunker. I've also had security patrols casing the outside of the bunker preventing legal (or at least un-arrested) approach. Taking out the comm array could be critical to a rescue.
Great guide... I would recommend NOT issuing a party invite to your patient if you can avoid it, though. An invite is handy for your party but it also immediately identifies how many are in the rescue party to potential medbaiters, allowing them to plan their ambush for your arrival. Otherwise, well done.
i considered making a medical org, but iunno how to do any of that! and i don't know enough folks to get one goin >.< but seems yall already got somethin goin!@@LoudGuns

All I can say is that since finding this channel my tea intake has gone up a lot! Excellent video as always.
Entirely agree, everyone is a medic atm because the medical gun is so completely simple and does everything for you

You must literally be the unluckiest person I’ve heard of. I’ve run about 50 public med rescues in live and never had a trap!

gonna give a look at medic :D
I like to have something like a "Medical Tricorder" for assessment of injury.
Yeah right now that’s all in the paramed but I’d love to see the complexity increase with more tool
They should remove the "auto" feature from the medgun.

Yeah hopefully in the not too distant future they make it so the mission automatically shares or people on rescue missions get a free pass.
can I regenrate inside the cutlass ambulance ?
Not anymore I'm afraid. Only T2 beds and higher can respawn.
