Light and sound waves are completely different, their only similarity is that they are both waves. They are not even the same wave type, sound is a longitudinal wave while light is a transverse wave. Sound is caused by changes in pressure, light is caused by changes of the electromagnetic field. Light can travel through a vacuum, sound can't, it needs a medium.

Light and sound waves are completely different, their only similarity is that they are both waves. They are not even the same wave type, sound is a longitudinal wave while light is a transverse wave.
Sound is caused by changes in pressure, light is caused by changes of the electromagnetic field. Light can travel through a vacuum, sound can't, it needs a medium.
