  • During the Oklahoma Land Runs there was considerable confusion. Because of that confusion the Great Railroad War of 1894 began. The War was between the Government town of Pond Creek, and Enid, and the Railroad towns of Pond Creek and Enid. Many attempts to stop the trains were made in the Government towns, but in the end the Railroad towns were not making it so they decided to give the Government towns rail service.

    Unfortunately, you showed a picture of a Frisco train. All that mayhem occurred on the Rock Island.
