Ohtani season is definitely historic. He achieved a milestone in Major League Baseball that no one else ever accomplished. Reaching 50-50 is truly an amazing feat in itself. Many tried to diminish his accomplishment by saying the rules changed and pitch clock and increase in bag size, if so why are there ONLY THREE PLAYERS WITH 50+ STOLEN BASES? Shouldn't there be 10 players? Back in 2014 there were three players with 50+ stolen bases and one had 49 stolen bases, in 2007 six players and 50+ stolen bases and Jose Reyes had 78 stolen bases that year. Strange isn't it? the rules changed were supposed to make it easier to steal bases but Jose Reyes destroyed everyone from the last two years even Ronald Acuna. Stats: AVG .310 HR54 SB59 R134 RBI130 XBH99 TB411 OPS1.036 bWAR 9.2 (Highest ever for DH) fWAR 9.1 (Highest ever for DH) Ohtani is ONE XBH and ONE stolen base away from 100 XBH and 60 stolen bases, missed opportunity if you asked me. It's unlikely we'll see another player achieving 50-50 again. Ohtani on paper is less productive than Aaron Judge's stats in some categories but his Judge stats from this season historic? No, we'll see someone with 58 home runs and 144 RBI again. Judge is lucky to have Juan Soto in front of him, two players with 40+ home runs and 129 walks on the same team is insanely crazy. Judge would have far fewer RBI if Soto played 3rd and Judge as leadoff like Ohtani. The leadoff will always have fewer RBI than RUN, not surprisingly Ohtani led the League in RUN at 134 and 2nd in RBI at 130. Ohtani probably won't be able to hit 60 home runs in his career but I can say the same for Judge, he probably won't be able to reach 400 Total Bases in a single season and even with a season when he hit 62 home runs he still came up short at 391 TB. Both are great players nevertheless.

Ohtani season is definitely historic. He achieved a milestone in Major League Baseball that no one else ever accomplished. Reaching 50-50 is truly an amazing feat in itself. Many tried to diminish his accomplishment by saying the rules changed and pitch clock and increase in bag size, if so why are there ONLY THREE PLAYERS WITH 50+ STOLEN BASES? Shouldn't there be 10 players? Back in 2014 there were three players with 50+ stolen bases and one had 49 stolen bases, in 2007 six players and 50+ stolen bases and Jose Reyes had 78 stolen bases that year. Strange isn't it? the rules changed were supposed to make it easier to steal bases but Jose Reyes destroyed everyone from the last two years even Ronald Acuna.

Ohtani is ONE XBH and ONE stolen base away from 100 XBH and 60 stolen bases, missed opportunity if you asked me. It's unlikely we'll see another player achieving 50-50 again. Ohtani on paper is less productive than Aaron Judge's stats in some categories but his Judge stats from this season historic? No, we'll see someone with 58 home runs and 144 RBI again. Judge is lucky to have Juan Soto in front of him, two players with 40+ home runs and 129 walks on the same team is insanely crazy. Judge would have far fewer RBI if Soto played 3rd and Judge as leadoff like Ohtani. The leadoff will always have fewer RBI than RUN, not surprisingly Ohtani led the League in RUN at 134 and 2nd in RBI at 130. Ohtani probably won't be able to hit 60 home runs in his career but I can say the same for Judge, he probably won't be able to reach 400 Total Bases in a single season and even with a season when he hit 62 home runs he still came up short at 391 TB.
Both are great players nevertheless.

Remember Ohtani is recovering from a UCL (basically playing with one good arm) set a record no player has ever accomplished going 50-50 in one of the greatest games, also broke a team record for most homeruns, most extra base hits, most consecetive games with an RBI with ten straight games as a leaderoff hitter and set the teams Runs record for a season.
You can run and swing a bat in 2024 after having Tommy John surgery in September of 2023.

It's crazy to think that an injured pitcher who hasn't pitched a game in 2024 is a leading contender for MVP. The talent of this man is off the charts. I just hope he can stay healthy and pitch next year. The man has singlehandedly got me back into baseball again. If your a card collector, now is the time to get his dodger cards and you can still find his "Rookie" cards within reason....Shohei might end up being the greatest player to play the game, his cards are gonna be worth gold.
