There are lots more but they are hard to miss by just playing. - Most villagers give recipes when you reach 4 Friendship Notes with them. - Prioritize 4 Friendship Notes with Manna, Duke, and Cliff (by 13th Autumn) if you don't want Cliff to disappear for 2 years. - Fruit trees could be expanded to 5 for 1k gold each from Carpenter Gotts, each spawns up to 3 fruits each (depending on season) and Honey (all season) right away (no need to grow). They can be replaced by axing them down. - Breed animals ASAP in order to get higher max hearts, the highest product a default animal can produce is medium quality, and 8 hearts is needed to win wool&cattle contests.
The nature sprites also like honey, all of them from my experience. if you buy some trees you can get honey, and if you give them some when they are working it keeps their friendship level up too. You can buy trees from the same guy who will expand your house and coop/barn, sorry can't remember his name.
