- 🌸At long last we've finally gotten Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. I don't know about everyone else, but I am LOVING this game. It brings back so much nostalgia from Harvest Moon Back to Nature and Harvest Moon FoMT/MFoMT. It's the same, but with a fresh new look, great music, adorable graphics.

The derby made me so much money. Save before entering, watch which horse wins, reload and pick that horse. Only bet on the first race because the other 2 are random. Use all of your winnings on buying brooches only! Sell them to Zack. With a full inventory and 30k invested, I made about 400k

Just did the derby last night but I thought they would just change up the winning horse each time.
Excellent tip/cheat. Keep this in mind.
If you are friend with the seller in zacks House, you can Take Dresses at the Derby and sell them to him. Its a little bit time, but you can get about 2 Million bucks (sorry for writing, the German korrection Tool weites everything with big Letters 😅)

Ringing the bell doesn't just simply make them come out, but also to FIND THEIR OWN FOOD. only feed them during rainy days.

Do you know If feeding the animals directly effects their affection towards you?
back in BtN leaving them outside actually increases their affection more. Has that changed?
Ipun One of the books in the library in this game recommends bringing animals outside to increase affection, but doesn’t say by exactly how much it increases.

Another beginner tip is that, your tools with gain experience as long as you swing them. Swinging them at anything doesn't matter. So go into the mines so time freezes and swing away if you have some extra stamina for the day. I drove myself crazy looking for tree branches to level my axe that didn't exist. 😅

You need at least 4 hearts on your horse for Mugi to let you keep it. Also, other than brushing & talking to it, call your horse by whistling to it until it runs up to you. It'll get its hearts up faster.

Pro Strategy: Save up untill you can buy the basket from the general store. Then make as much money as you can untill the day of the spring horse race. Then on the day of the spring horse race bring your basket with you and save before entering the town square. Watch the race and reload your save. Then bet on the winner and trade your winnings for broaches and fill your basket with them. Once your basket is full return home and ship the broaches. You'll have just made 50,000 in a day. This can be done as early as the first month.
Sorry, you're in the wrong game. With the revamped inventory system, there's no longer any basket in SoS : FoMT.
you don't need a basket anymore, you can stack up to 9 item on a single item slot in this game, so if you have the full inventory upgrade you can stack up a total of 216 broach
No basket in this game, but you can still utilize this method to make money at the horse races. The bigger your backpack the more $$$ you can make :)
I don't know about the switch version but in the PC version, the winners are not the same one when you reload. It's still a good way to make money if you can guess it right but takes a few times in my experience.

I've heard that the next floor ladder in the mine never appears around the 8 squares around the ladder that's there, and never around the outside perimeter of the floor. I tried it and it seems to check out. You can save yourself a little digging!
If you get down to level 10 or lower in the Spring mine and get orichalum you can have Saibara the blacksmith make you a piece of jewelry. It costs 1000 but sells for 1800, which is a nice little profit. Unfortunately you can only commission it once a day, but it does make a steady profit if you do it often.
Awesome way to get some extra gold!
I noticed that myself about the ladder. It was true in the original game too.
Maxing 10 hearts affection takes time too, you need to breed animals carefully, especially the chickens. animal bought from store has a max of 5 hearts only, and if you breed it has an offspring of 6 hearts, every offspring has a +1 heart of its parent.
How about cow?
@@tomserizawa9101 just the same, so in order to get a 10 heart max cow, you got to keep breeding cows until you get one that has 10 max hearts. works for other animals too like alpacas, sheep, and angora rabbits
Grass grows one tile a day as long as the tile the grass is currently on has an available neighboring tile for the new growth. So, I've started keeping my grass in a checkerboard pattern to help generate more daily fodder.
THANK YOU for this! Most videos compare this version to the original, which I never played, and assume you just know basic things, which I don't. I'm coming to this from Stardew Valley, one of my favorite games of all time!

I’ve been playing ghost of tsushima so much I didn’t realize there’s a new story of seasons drop.
Tip: If you don't want a shop to close, go inside as soon as it's going to close, then keep entering and leaving until you want to go back inside, The time will be glitched and you can enter again way after the closing hour.

It takes a ton of energy to go further down in the mines. Once you start learning recipes it starts getting easier because you can restore energy easier :) Hope you're enjoying the game so far!

To lvl up fishing rod faster you can go to mine and use it on ground repeatedly. Heal stamina at spring and rinse repeat.
You dont have to catch fish to lvl up fishing rod, just use it.
Is there a way to use this on any weapon? Or is it just the fishing rod?

Nice video! I've been playing since july 14th and didn't know I could sort the resident's cards or look at my tools' exp in the menu 😮 Few observations though:
1) You *can* get another horse if the 1st one doesn't love you enough when mature. Mugi will bring you a new foal the next spring for you to make friends with enough to keep when it matures.
2) To get the fishing rod, it has to be either the first saturday of spring or any of the following saturdays. You can't get it earlier than that.
3) Starting on mine bf10, you can get adamantite, orichalchum and mythril on top of the copper, silver and gold, so it's best to go down to that level to mine for stuff 😉

I believe I got the fishing rod on my second day. Just go to Zack's house on the beach and talk to him, he'll give you the fishing rod.
Also, if Mugi takes your horse, he'll give it back the next year (I think it's the same grown up horse he took, and not a new foal).

Jesus christ. Thank so much. I was going crazy why i wouldn't get the fishing rod. So the reason was because my tool slots were all full.
I also didn't knew about the house behind the church nor about the kappa and harvest goddess. I would have never be able to find them even after farming a whole year if i didn't aw this video. LOL

I don't know if you were familiar with Harvest Moon games when you played this but the first one I played I was so confused, I hated it. The only reason I kept playing was because my total confusion made me feel stupid and I had to prove to myself I could figure this dumb game out. I've been hooked on this franchise for 20 years now 😅 just wanted to let you know confusion is normal so you don't feel dumb.

Also, I'm informed that this game is a remake to a older title in the franchise. But how the hell would anyone who aren't already familiar with this game would know ANY of this on their first playthrough? I was completely befuddled by why the stuff I need aren't readily available to me, such as owning pets or easier way to earn money and health pickups. HOW WOULD ANYONE KNOW YOU HAD TO GIFT A GODDESS BY A WATERFALL AND THROW CUCUMBER TO A SURROUNDED LAKE IN ORDER TO GET ANY PROGRESS??

Nice video. Nice you can save/load in the mind to go further down sooner. Wish I would know the best floor/range to go in the beginning with lower stamina. Also nice to be able to use the save/load trick on at least the first horse race to make a TON of money early on.

@@reinercunanan2714 It's simple, save when you are on a new floor, dig around for the ladder and remember the location, reload and go back to the ladder location to save your stamina looking for the ladder and descend with more stamina for lower floors :)

It's been years since I last played the original game on my PS1 and I never got the chance to finish it because my console just died on me. I'm so glad that they made a remake and it's on the Switch too! Time to relive the memories again and hopefully complete it this time. Thank you for the guide video, it really helped!

I don't know if it is because I had already passed BTN and FOMT before, but this game is extremely easy. And already a somewhat personal complaint is that it annoys me that Pete's story as a child and Claire's about his boat trip have been deleted, they were something entertaining because at 3 years of marriage your spouse reveals who he was
I agree! It’s great for new players but definitely way too easy to make money and woo characters. The tie in to your spouse was SO GOOD in the old games!

Another tip that I don't know if its already been mentioned in the comments... To upgrade your fishing pole quickly you can wait until the summer 1 fetch contest on the beach... Time freezes and it uses 0 stamina to fish... So you can literally just keep fishing until your rod is maxed out...however this will take an eon lol
Late comment, but after you get your horse taken away, do you get a new one eventually? Or does the game literally hard-locks you from ever owning a horse?
I recently got this game just a few days ago and I couldn't work out for awhile where to store my lumber and material stone so I was carrying them everywhere for several in-game days and I finally looked it up on google and found out lol... I felt so stupid 😅 my joycon is drifting so makes it harder to play on switch but I'm getting a new one anyway hopefully it arrives tomorrow...
Can I just say, I love the calm and relaxed demeanor! Really matches the game and doesn't set off my Sensory Processing issues ^^

I agree! Tea's voice is soothing and I can listen and not risk going on sensory overload. I have Sensory Processing Disorder and some RUclipsrs have intros that cause my anxiety and stress level to skyrocket because of the volume/ noise, or they can go quiet then loud suddenly.
Thank you for the tips. I love Harvest Moon. Story of Seasons is such a cool game. It's not perfect. But it's so fun to play it. I hope they'll make a remake for Harvest Moon DS. I still play it on DS sometimes.

You dont need fences anymore. Animals go indoors automatically at 8pn.

I had no idea you could check tool level progress without going to the blacksmith. I thought that was just not available in game.
HAHA This is my second gameplay and I still go to the blacksmith to check. Feel so stupid now 😭

Ive just started playing it on my pc! how can i make my character run? is there an option? because compared to mine yours is walking super fast ahaha
So mine runs automatically. Im thinking you need to check the game settings. Go to settings and video settings and disable vsync if its on. That could be causing the problem. I had an issue and went through the whole first month in game going slow asf 😂🤦 so give that a try.

If you save before you sleep you can save scum the weather for the day after the new morning.
upgrades
make sure you wouldn't be picking up the finished item on thursday if your going to need it.
Tools just need to be swung to train up not a big deal for most of them but really helps with the fishing rod and first axe upgrade so hotspring->mine->swing out stamina->repeat or in ur house before bed if you have some excess stm.
the advice to wait to skip upgrades is generally good but I think you should at least upgrade the watering can and axe to copper as soon as you can, it takes abit of time to get the sprites befriended and the first upgrade will let you handle a much larger field until then after that it can stay copper till mithril, as for the axe not enough small sticks spawn to rank it up through use anytime soon so after mine swinging it until you can rank it u'd at least be able to break the stumps that spawn in the areas south of the farm for training and collect something useful (tho if you have the patience i'd swing it to silver in the mine first but either way).
Mine
There are multiple ladder spawns to find in most floors but only the first one u find actually spawns, it is rare but sometimes all the ladder spawns are under rocks much more likely in a small floor.
The grass you sometimes dig up restores a little stm AND Ftg if you scumming to find the ladders also note where these were and dig them up as well its restores quite abit more then the 1 swing if you wait till the fatigue builds up to use it
Floor 10 is big and almost everything shows up if ur hunting for grass up to that point u could probably get a couple full stacks of anything by the time ur character is tuckered out. (except mythic which is NOT here).

I just bought this version, I havent played harvest moon since musical melody. I cant for the life of me figure out how to drop the seeds to plant them!
seeds count as "tools" in this one so depending on if you play pc or console, it's the same action button as using a tool :)
How do u throw stuff down like weeds of ur holding it?
Do you mean throwing things on the ground? They actually took that ability out of this remake. You can however switch between items in your inventory or switch to a blank space in your inventory to put things away. I just sell any extra weeds, trash, etc if I don't want it :)
The only thing I'm confused about is the mine. You said to save on every level. But doesn't that still make you start from the first level? And won't you have to remember where the ladder is?
If you save at the start of every new level you can mine the whole level to find the next ladder down, reload your save and then you will still be on that same level. Only difference is you don’t have to waste unnecessary energy finding the ladder when you reload the save. Takes a bit of extra time but helps if you’re going far into the mines :)

Hi I'm new at this game I just started playing yesterday I just don't know how to feed my chicken I bought chicken feed but I don't know how to feed it's my chicken I press y I go to my items I select the chicken feed I press a to confirm but it won't confirm so that I could buy chicken or put it in the chicken feed bin and I also don't know how to give gifts to people So could somebody help me please
I am an idiot and can't figure out how to get the chicken feed in the food bin or how to feed my chicken directly.

You just press A when you get close to your animals and their name pops up (the same way you’d talk to them) and A when the examine button pops up by the red box in the barns!
Is there a way to have more than one farm? We noticed if you click start it rewrites over your previous farm and the continue button shows 3 slots with 2 empty but I can’t figure out how to have more than 1 farm???? 🤞🤞🤞

Do you happen to know how I can get Ruby to give me recipes? I unlocked her a while ago and already have 10 musical notes with her, but she only gave me 1 recipe so far.-. I don't really know what else I have to do
Weird... may be a bug since she's supposed to give you the recipes as you befriend her.

Lou actually is trades recipes, you need to know some certain recipes to make her give you recipes.
