  • In this video I weave the Diamonds & Bars Twill Rug. This pattern is from the March/April 2019 Handwoven Magazine. It is a 4-shaft, Boundweave structure with 6 ends per inch in the warp.

    Your rug is beautiful, so crisp with the three colors and your selvages so perfect. Thank you for teaching me

    Thanks Grace. The rug is gorgeous. You have a very pretty weaving helper. Looking forward to seeing how you do the Damascus edge.

      Thank you so much! I'm really please with how the rug turned out. I should have the edge finishing video up this week. And thanks for the compliment about my little weaving buddy. He doesn't normally have any interest in the weaving but, of course, he had to interfere while I was filming 😁

    I enjoy your video style .
    The fast forward segments helped me really grasp the rotation of shuttles.
    LOL.. I was counting and shifting my head to keep track with your movements. 😂

      Thank you so much. Rotating 3 shuttles can be challenging and I did get out of sequence a couple times and had to unweave a few picks but the technique of placing them on the bench really helps. Glad you enjoyed the video.

    Hi, Nice Rug pattern and I love the colour combinations.
    Is the original threading draft for a four shaft as follows \\V//

      @tangledwebsweaving  Год назад

      Thank you very much. Yes, it is a 4 shaft pattern and you almost have the threading correct but it's upside down and there's and additional superscript v (threaded on shafts 3 & 4). So it's basically //\\ᵛ. The full pattern can be found in the March/April 2019 Handwoven Magazine.

    Thank you for your videos, great source . Would you mind explaining the extra treadle for weighting down on a cm loom please. I have cm loom and can’t get any shed on one of my treadles. Thank you.

      Thank you for the kind comment. I'm not sure I understand your question completely but will try to answer. I think there are 2 things going on here. Not getting a shed on 1 treadle is probably not related to weighing down with an extra treadle. If the treadle is the one closest to the pivot point of the lamms that is pretty common because you don't have as much leverage on the lamms that close to the pivot. If it's a different treadle I'm not sure what to suggest without seeing your loom.
      The extra treadle is used to balance the jacks on an unbalance threading or when you are using more shafts than treadles. I would suggest getting the book "Tying up the Countermarch Loom" by Joanne Hall if you don't already have it. I hope that helps. You're welcome to email me at grace@tangledwebsweaving if you have additional questions.

    Hi Grace, love all your videos and teaching style @tangledwebsweaving. I am looking for some assistance with my treadle tie ups. Basic weave for a rag rug on my glimakra countermarche loom. I can’t find help anywhere that is turning that lightbulb on in my head so I “Get it” ~ including a paid group I’m in. I really just need to spend a few minutes with someone via video or something to ask questions and show & tell. Is this something you’d be able to do? I’m happy to pay for your time. 😊 I’ve got all the great books &very good at reverse engineering the shaft movements but stuck on one point. My weaving can’t begin until I get this final tie up which is super frustrating. 😵‍💫
