    This is a Bhojpuri style wedding following mainly Hindu Sanatan Dharma traditions. I performed it in Queens Village, Queens, New York, U.S.A. The participants are of Guyanese origin (Guyana, South America); and our foreparents are from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and surrounding nearby areas. I performed this wedding about 4 to 5 years ago and I did a lot of English expanations, which are not included in this You Tube Version. I agree that it is somewhat lengthy; but this is how long our weddings usually are. In today's cultures, where there is so much instabilities in marriages and families, I am sure one will agree that prayers in the beginning of marriage life are indispensable.
    Thanks for watching both parts.

      have you done any fijian indian weddings?

    • @mdeopers
      @mdeopers 9 лет назад +4

      indofiji100 No, I have not done a Fijian indian wedding. Basically, all hindu weddings have a similar format. The steps depend upon which region in India the culture originated from... certain steps may be omitted and other cultural "belief" steps may be added. However, whatever steps are adapted, the basic Hindu format of all their weddings is geared towards the seeking the utmost blessings (from the Supreme Lord) for the married couple and their future generations.

      +mahadeo persaud I'd appreciate you (Panditji) for beautiful explanations and following all the mandatory vihaah kaarya. Though your pronunciation are a little odd but with knowledge of Samskrit I can say that all your Mantras are impeccable and very clear. Very few Indian Padits manage this clarity. You have learnt all your mantras with lots of efforts. Accept my Namaste.

    Extremely interesting for me .As a Muslim I saw it for the first time.Pandije is performing his duty very gently and skillfully. The bride got tired for long course .She doesn't know even some of the rituals that's why that extra duty of instructions was performed by Panditji.I like all religions because every religion has it's own beauty.

    I think they are of guyanese background. That is why the panditji is talki g in english. Of course the mantras are sanskrit. This is typical of guyanese weddings/functions because everyone is not fluent in hindi

    Why are the bride and groom separated?

    • @sarahali1199
      @sarahali1199 3 года назад +3

      Well apparently the entire ceremony wasn’t filmed. Usually the groom goes to brides home, does Puja (prayer), then the bride comes out does Puja, then the groom again and waits for her to change into red and then the actual ceremony takes place.
