I just bought a pair a few days ago and am trying to use them as well. I've been playing with them this weekend. but I think i'm too light with the eyeliner and need to put more than one coat to ensure the lash adheres properly. I love the concept and the look!
@@1lordgray As you can tell, that's exactly the same problem I had! Actually someone from this company saw my video and emailed me afterwards telling me I needed to thicken up the liner - especially in the corner. So try that and see if it helps (i'm sure that goes for any brand). Good luck and thanks for watching!
I think you did a fabulous job you were a realistic and honest. And people that don’t like the length of it don’t have to watch it. I thought it was great thank you so much for the update. And by the way you are gorgeous and the little girls is Darling 💝
Dr. Rupa Wong Hey I just got the Ardell gel Liner and Lash Demi wispies set yesterday and I’m in loveeeee....their magnet quality is so good, I had no problems applying, no adverse reactions and it never even once popped up at any place and they’re also affordable. Must try!!
I’m not a makeup artist either, but I have been doing my eyelashes for 14 years. “Stretching” the eyelashes make them more flexible. You can stretch them by wrapping them around the index finger & gently stretching them for a minute.
This was actually the most compelling demo for me because she’s normal and down to earth and clearly not a beauty expert. Love that she showed the struggles and troubleshooting
Hahaha Thank you for being a normal non-makeup artist teacher and showing us how to apply the magnetic lashes ! Ultimately, I bombed and gave up 😢 I was just too scared of poking myself in the eye with the brush.
I am a professional MUA- although I can place false eyelashes on clients w/o even looking, I have a very rough time putting false lashes on myself- please know that- it is not easy to put on false eyelashes. Here is a little trick I do that works very well. I place the lashes on the eyes first for the fit before I use the adhesive. These are not one size fits all. I curve them up a bit so they will be more pliable and easier to install. I also will cut the lashes in 3 sections to insure the best fit possible. (So many of the models I have had the pleasure to do their makeup have huge eyes and splitting them up will work for a perfect fit.) I am so glad I found you. I also just bought magnetic eyelashes- but, hesitated to use them not knowing if they were safe to use. Thank you! You did a great job! Your daughter is absolutely adorable just like you!
If you want to further keep the magnetic liner from touching directly on your skin, apply regular liquid eyeliner first, then apply the magnetic liner over it. It may also make it easier to remove.
Also, I think the thing of “I’m bad at eye makeup even though I’m an eye surgeon” has to do with like... painting someone else’s nails is easier than painting your own...
@@DrRupaWong Thanks for the unexpectedly quick reply!! I hope you and those you care about are doing well with everything going on these days :) and same here, I have seemingly endless patience in some situations and legit none whatsoever in others haha thank you for making this video!! Also, is it really okay to have magnets/magnetic materials in prolonged contact with your eyes/skin? Since there's blood vessels there and blood has iron, wouldn't there be a chance that the magnetism would affect like circulation around those areas?
I am wondering about just regular metal detectors there are a few places that you really really really do not want to set them off one of course being any airport in the United States, the next being any federal state or city buildings or courthouses period do we know if these set off metal detectors at all especially in those highly highly sensitive type of situations with sensitive metal detectors???
I actually tried magnetic eyeliner from WISH! My eyes got all swollen!!! Tgen I got another one from Kiss & did not make my eyes swell but also does not hold the lashes in place
@@desireereyes9043 I just got the Kiss first time with any magnetic today. Worked for me with one application, box says you can do two or three if needed.
I’m scheduled for an MRI soon and just started wearing magnetic lashes. I never thought about this. And I’m a former XRay tech! You saved me! 🤗 thank you sooooo much!
I’m pre-Med and want to be an eye surgeon as well! You’re so gorgeous and such an inspiration :) you’re everything I hope to be as a doctor when I’m older
I LOVED this vid. I have a very short attention span, I click and move constantly. You were so direct and to the point. Very human not commercial. Explained it excellently and it was a very realistic vid. EXCELLENT. You're very pretty with our without makeup. I loved when you said 'I'm a real person, not a makeup artist.' And your Lil one's cameo was adorable 🥰
Thank you, Dr. Wong! I'm a recent makeup school graduate and I still struggle when I put lashes on myself. I bought this lash system this summer and I loved the result (I wore them once to a concert), but I wanted to make sure the liner was safe to use regularly. A good trick with the liner is to put your usual liner on first and then go over it with the magnetic one. Easier to apply!
Dont even know where to begin.... the walk in closet, the supercute daughter of yours, your natural beauty and oh, the lashestest. LOL you nailed it girlfriend 😄🤗💜
Thank you SO much!!!! My daughter just can't seem to help herself. She literally has to take over. I have another one coming up where she does the same thing. lol
I have recently purchased and love the magnetic eyeliner/lash combo (especially since I also have sensitivity to eyelash glue, makeup etc). As an Optician, I now feel confident I can rock these lashes daily without concern and not feel reserved when patients ask about them. Thank you for the extra knowledge you bring to the opinion table!
Watching a non beauty guru is convincing me to buy it but I'm gonna start with drugstore brand😂 also, people say its easier to do your wing and regular eyeliner with whatever you normally do and then use the magnetic liner over it where you want to apply the lashes. Its more cost effective and looks smoother
I'm such a total klutz when it comes to eye liner! My hands shake & it never looks right. I'm prob stuck w my own lashes; I always had awesome lashes, but w a low thyroid, they've thinned a bit. Sigh. Not as long.
This has been the realest review I have come across. Loved it. I’m allergic to many things, mostly life in general. I’m super excited to try these. Just ordered them, can’t wait to get them.
Hope they work out for you! I don't have any kind of stock in the company and wasn't sponsored for this video. Just the first lashes I found when I googled magnetic liner/lashes.
So good! I accidentally bought the magnetic lashes that connect together and was STRUGGLIN’! I ran across this video and feel so much better I no longer will even try to connect them but use my magnetic liner as usual! No need to lose more lashes! Thanks for saving me from myself!! I do like the “kiss” magnetic lashes because the eyeliner is sooo smooth and easy to put on. Try those- it might make it easier. The other tip is to cut into usable segments ( magnets in tact) place it magnetic liner then strategically place them for a more natural look. I’m a newbie to them so I’m sure others have better tips!
Great video. Could you also do a video on safe eyeshadows or at least which ingredients to look for or avoid? Shadow vs cream, brands, etc. That would be wonderful :)
It's incredible to watch this kind of video from an eye surgeon. The fact that we think the new trend of having magnetic lashes is so convenient for us, which they are, it's interesting to know that we don't actually realise what's in the product. Great video
Found your channel looking for reviews on the magnetic liner and now I need to browse through, I don't know if this a slightly cringey comment but you put off such an amazing, sweet energy and have such a lovely voice. I can only imagine how safe your patients feel, you just seem so kind and caring. Your daughter is utterly adorable. Thank you so much for this video, from one sorta novicey makeup mom.
I don't feel like it's cringey at all! I really think it's so sweet of you to say and I hope my patients feel that way too! I definitely try to make them feel cared for!
@@DrRupaWong thanks for the video. I am also allergic to eyelash glue so when I found magnetic eyelashes I was so happy. I especially got lucky the first time I tried it they just snapped on and I realized that if I put my usual liquid eyeliner first then put the magnetic eyeliner over it works better. I noticed someone else here made that same observation. I just had an iridotomy for narrow angles almost 2 weeks ago and was wondering if I can start to wear my magnetic eyelashes again..although I did already wear them yesterday but felt nervous about doing so 2 weeks after laser iridotomy. Just a side note you may want to experiment with other brands to see which ones work the best or easier to apply. I tried Benols. You have a beautiful daughter!
@@caroltyndaal4293 So interesting because there was another viewer who had an iridotomy too! I haven't heard of Benols - I definitely will try those as well. I hated the magnetic ones which sandwiched my lashes together. Those just ripped my lashes out! And, thank you for you kind comments about my daughter!
I appreciate this video as it helped me make a decision about trying them. I love that you were just a regular person trying them and not a makeup artist that makes it look so easy. You also did one more thing that I was looking for that the other videos lacked. You showed the removal of the liner, so thank you.
Mahalo for posting this! I was iffy about getting them and then researched if it was safe and read your article and watched the video. One thing I can say as advice to you, if you don’t do it already, is to wash your face with facial cleanser after you cleanse with oil, don’t just wash it off with water. 💛
I have always wanted longer lashes. I previously used falsies with glue on a daily basis and considered doing extensions to combat the falsies lifting in the corners over the course of the day. But stopped using any kind of lash enhancement due to the detriment to your natural lashes (from continued use and removal of lashes). When I heard about the magnetic liner and falsies, I was SUPER interested. Thank you SOOOO much for providing a professional's view about the magnetic liner and falsies and a thorough review of the removal. The information of MRIs and these was important added bonus that most people wouldn't consider. I feel much more comfortable about my lash and (eyelid) skin health and can't wait to try them!
I love this! I'm an optometrist and few days ago I started looking into magnetic liner/lashes and one of the main concerns i had was the MRI. I love that you brought it up because that was exactly what brought me to watching your review from a doctor's perspective.
Thank you! That means a lot coming from another eye doctor! I try to make my videos informative and a little fun but always with some medical info in mind! Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much Tessa! She kind of knows it already too (blame it on being the last and only girl in the family after 2 boys!). Hoping her older brothers will keep her out of trouble!
Dr. Rupa, you did not apply enough liner. I have these lashes, and they are fabulous! LOVE LASH LINER!!! You can put them on in 2 minutes, but you should put on 2-coats of liner. They do stay on.
Brown Cow yes that’s exactly what customer service told me. Put more liner on. I used too thin of a strip. I’ve been doing more and it’s way easier!! Thanks for your comment! And I will try to add it to the more section of the video!
I sell magnetic lashes and liner through Tori Belle. Usually most have to trim them especially if your inner corner keeps raising. Then 2 coats. It gets easier as you do it more
Dr. Rupa Wong Thank you! ❤️ Thanks to you, I tried my pair today. My eyes are so sensitive that even Clinique mascara flakes and bothers them. I can avoid all mascara with this now. It’s amazing. I am a klutz and could never put on lashes, yet these magnetic lashes were so easy in comparison. Where has this been all my life? You’ve created a magnetic lash monster now. 😂 ❤️
@@znonemper5519 I'm sure it's fine! The only thing is to make sure where they are made - some of the ones made in other countries don't use the best materials
Dr. Rupa Wong You make an excellent point! And I can’t find any magnetic lash liner on Amazon that either shows ingredient and/or that’s made in the USA. 🤦♀️ Purchased the Lashliner brand now & the lashliner can work with any magnetic lashes. Not gonna take chances with toxic ingredients from the dupe one from Amazon as it didn’t come off the same when cleaning. P.S. I removed the link as I’m so sure it has a small amount of latex in it. 😢 Thanks a million for posting this & YES you should represent the brand! ❤️🤗❤️ Mahola!
@@znonemper5519 Hi! My eyes are sensitive too. I can't wear mascara these days as well. Almay mascara is just ok but not for long. Did you ever try Lashliner Lashes? If so, did the magnetic liner irritate your eyes?
Thank you so much for making this video. I’ve suffered from Trichotillomania since I was about 9 years old. I’ve always struggled with growing my lashes out enough to wear false lashes, but they have never been thick enough at one time to hold them. When I found out about these magnetic liner systems, I thought they were a God-send, but I’ve been afraid of harming my eyes/vision. I truly appreciate your input, advice, and tips!
Yes! I have patients who underwent chemotherapy and don't have enough lashes for lash serums to work on. I think the magnetic liner and lashes work really well, especially for people like you! Plus, I don't like the icky glue feeling of falsies and this doesn't feel like that at all!
Before magnetic lashes I found a brand that works well for people with little to no eyelashes (designed for cancer patients). Thrive Cosmetics has lashes that claim to stay on well without natural eyelashes
Thank you! I have a different brand and I was concerned about my eye health AFTER I started using them (good job nurse 🙄). After I got concerned, I all but stopped using them. I spoke to my eye doctor afterwards and he said “it should be fine.” But he’s a man, he hardly knew what I was talking about and was very quick with his answer so I wasn’t completely convinced. I definitely won’t wear them everyday but when I want to be cute I feel better wearing them after watching your video
I just bought false eyelashes and duo glue. The glue was hard to get off. I misplaced my makeup wipes and had to use dawn dish soap with a soft rag. Now one of my eye lids are burning probably from the glue bc I have sensitive skin. I applied e.l.f. Face lotion after as dawn dish soap drys the skin. I have a photo shoot coming up and this is my first time putting them on myself for practice. My first photo shoot I had them professionally glued on with no problem. I was thinking the magnet ones would be better for me to use. Glad I found you! Your daughter is a cutie!
You are obviously not a makeup youtuber, and that is what makes your video so fresh, light and enjoyable. Most of us watching these videos are real people, not makeup artists, and I am sure most of us benefit from a real person's experience much more than we do from the makeup ladies' stuff. I was going to get the sandwich type magnetic lashes but now I think I would be better off with these ones, even though they are a wee bit more complicated to apply, because of what you said about the lashes bearing weight. I also have hooded eyes, getting to the point where my lids interfere with my vision, which is one of my reasons to want false lashes, and pulling the hoods further down by putting weight on them wouldn't help. Thanks for a lovely, fun video.
Thanks so much for your kind words. I actually tried some of the sandwich ones from amazon and i could just not get them to work at all! I found they way more difficult than these. I'm still not expert at these, but they're easier I think.
@@DrRupaWong I bet the issue with the sandwich type lashes is the alignment of the magnets. Those things are tiny, so their magnetic field is also tiny, and if you don't align them perfectly, they might just not do their jobs at all. And with such tiny magnets, there is always the possibility of manufacturing errors where if they glue just one magnet the other way around, the polarity of the magnet is inverted and it pushes the other magnet away rather than attract it. I know these are first world problems, but they can get really annoying. The issue with hooded eyes is also that your lashes sort of hang, they are not sticking up like those on normal eyes, so no amount of mascara can make them appear fuller. On normal eyes, the curve of the lashes makes them point up, but on hooded eyes, they just point forward. I also tried lash curlers, but my eye sockets are too bony and I can't get the curler in there. I don't have deep set eyes, it's just that my brow bone is prominent. I am looking into blepharoplasty. I am really not into plastic surgery, I think it should only be used for genuine mistakes of nature or after accidents, to correct real issues that seriously hurt a person's self-esteem, and not to make a good-looking person look better than everyone else. But this eye issue makes me look like I am crying, and it does have an impact on contact with people, not to mention the social pressure where you are expected to wear makeup or you are considered dirty or butchy. That expectation is not compatible with my features, because regular makeup only highlights the issues even more, so I have to get very technical about makeup and spend a LOT of time on it and get very frustrated. I figure that is reason enough to justify plastic surgery. And it wouldn't be cheating either. Blepharoplasty, when done right, keeps your real eyes and only removes the excess skin and fat that shouldn't have been there in the first place. It wouldn't change my eyes, it would just allow them to exist. I do have nice eyes and I wouldn't change a thing about them. I just want them to show up in my face.
Same! I figured that the liquid liner had to include some kind of ground up metal in it to be able to react to the magnets on the lashes, and I was very concerned about getting small particles of metal in my eyes! I saw that the ingredients list included iron oxide, but I didn't know exactly what form it was in and how small it would have to be to not cause damage whenever you wash your face or in the event that it flakes into your eyes...
Thank you for doing this video. I've been wondering if they're safe for long term use, so I'm very relieved to hear your opinion. Don't worry about being not being a cosmetics model, I much prefer real, non models trying things as you can see how an amateur can struggle with something new...it's real life, not from someone who can do them in ten seconds.
This is the only review that matters ! I have been looking for this . Someone who can explain the obvious: what happens when you apply magnetic liquids onto your eyes! I care about this more than how it looks ! Thank you so much for this review 🌼
Thank you for your video here👏🏽 I’ve just brought these lashes and I feel confident that these products will win me over eyelash extensions which have badly damaged my natural lashes- thank you 🙏🏽🙂
Thank you for being a REAL PERSON trying a product. Everyone else makes it look so easy, but when we , the end-user, try the product it is a complete mess. Thanks for your medical advise too. Skin and eye health is never addressed by youtubers/make up artists and that could put many people in danger.
Finally, someone with scientific knowledge reviewing magnetic lashes! I’ve been hesitant because of the iron in the liner but I’m glad to see you didn’t have major concerns about it. Going to order some now!
@@DrRupaWong HI! LOVED this video-- so informative. Thank you! Could you please talk more about the iron oxide part and the staining you are referring to? Will it stain your eye lid or your eye ball? I'm just wondering with the eyelid skin being so thin, can it penetrate through to your eyeball? TIA
I’m so glad I came across this review! I’m also from Hawaii, so this video covered all of the questions I had in mind when it came to magnetic eyeliner/lashes. Thank you!
I saw those and was wondering if they really work, because I never manage to get the ones with the glue on right, either they are wonky, or I glue them to my own hands.... And more often than not one works, then the other doesn't and I either run out of time or out of patience, and just remove the one that worked again and leave it just with mascara and eyeliner, but then I am still frustrated afterwards... 🙈
I tried those and I hate how shiny the liner looks and it tend to break on me. I tried a different brand from Walmart and that one was a fail too. Now I'm gonna try some Amazon ones.
I tried it. Holy moly this is magic ❤️ might have to shorten them a bit because the were a bit close to my inner eye and that was slightly uncomfortable, but no comparison to those glue ones
It’s funny.. you say you should do this because you’re a surgeon.. my hands shake all the time and as an ongoing joke I show people my hands and say, “I told my mom growing up that I could never be a surgeon.” I can’t do any of this stuff but seeing your down- to-earth-everyone- can- do- this attitude made me feel better. I will definelty buy these and feel like I can do it! Thank you so so much. Your daughter is a doll!! Love her-and you. Thanks.
I was laughing along with you, because I have been going through the same problems with the eyeliner, but I’ve been making a huge mess with it ! It’s very intimidating, but hopefully will get used to it. I love the outcome when all and done. Your little girl is a doll !
I just felt like there needed to be a real review of some of these beauty products by people who aren't exactly skilled at applying them in 2 seconds! Thanks for your kind words!
I have had LASIK surgery within the last 6 months and I am still very skeptical about this. I am a very detailed dental hygienist but I absolutely suck at falsies. I guess I will just let the professionals handle it 😂. I do appreciate your honest opinion 😊
I am so glad that you did this as a regular person for us that are exactly the same. I learned from you video to wait till it dried to apply. I was making a mess cause I tried to do it to soon. And your daughter is adorable
Thank you for your review! I have been researching these lashes and as someone who worked in the ophthalmology field for 20 years, I was concerned about the ingredients and staining. You hit all the points in this video. Thank you thank you thank you! I'm now a subscriber and can't wait to binge watch your channel.
Thanks Charlene! I appreciate your positive feedback especially since you were in the ophtho field as well. I definitely like them way better than regular falsies.
OMG! YOU are awesome! You answered all but one of the questions I had about glamnetic lashes! I have really oily skin and wonder if that affects the use of them, otherwise I believe I'm gonna try them! Thanks so very much for your honest and thorough opinion. You should do more of these types of product tests for items used around or in the eyes! Your professional opinion and ability to explain even to those of us who have been unable to apply most lashes are super helpful! Looking forward to more of your content in the future! GLAD I FOUND YOU!!!
This video was _so_ helpful, and also very charming. I have seen these advertised and wondered about all the things you covered in your video. Thanks for this! Also, Arya is adorable. :o)
Tried the lashes today. They are fabulous, I used the Kiss Magnetic Lashes and Magnetic Eyeliner, Loved the look, my friends all commented on how great my makeup looked and it didn't even tell them I'd done anything. Now my 5 girlfriends are going to try the magnetic lashes as well. Thanks for all the tips, which I took into account, including shaking the liner, cutting the lashes to the right length and applying 2 coats of the liner and ensuring that each coat was completely dry before applying the lashes. These will be a staple for my look from now on. Thanks a million.
Ha ha!!! It doesn’t sound crazy! I was an optician, and I trained people with their new contact lenses. Well, I was really good at teaching and training people, however....those that cannot do, teach...right? I can’t get contacts in my own eye to save my life. I have no clue why! I TOTALLY feel you! I don’t think it’s weird at all. Lol Thanks for the video! I subscribed 👍🏻👍🏻
Ha ha!! Right??!! It makes perfect sense to me! I remember the first time I attempted to glue on the false lashes. It was a disaster! I ended up basically gluing my eye shut. Lol. It wasn’t pretty AT ALL!!
Your daughter is so precious and Kiss makes magnetic now that needs less liner. But I am glad to see your review because of your credentials and I have sensitivity eyes. You look beautiful can't wait to get mine:) Thanks Doc
I'm considering eyelid surgery for my my hooded eyelids which seem to be getting droopier as I get older. Would you do a video on eyelid surgery and share what you know ~ pro's/con's, what to expect, how to find a the right specialist, etc.? Thank you in advance!
That's a great idea. It's actually a surgery I do and is one of my favorites. Most of my patients are pretty private and wouldn't want their surgeries on YT, but I can put something together that would be informative and not violate patient confidentiality and HIPAA.
Absolutely adore ur daughter's intro, that was super cute. she does look like mommy.. You having lashes on looks gorgeous, brings out ur eyes more.. So glad to you figured out how to apply. You look beautiful 💜💜
You're so cute! Love that you're showing the reality lol because this is me with every type of false lash. Just bought magnetic ones today and I'm hoping I can figure it out! By the way, I saw that iron oxide is actually a common ingredient in mascara! There was even medical papers written about how it could distort MR images in the 80s.
Slightly embarrassing when I rewatch the video at how much I struggle with very simple things like lashes! But it was way easier than falsies for sure!
Always good to have an assistant!! Too cute. The lashes look natural and really nice. Thank you for testing these and this valuable insight. Health is number 1.
I’m sooo glad I’ve come across this video. I’ve worked for an eye doctor for my entire adult life and just recently jumped on this magnetic eyelash bandwagon. Since I’m working from home now I haven’t been able to speak with the doctors I work for about it and I kinda felt silly bringing it up to them. I’m glad to hear that it’s mostly safe 🤩
Yeah, she totally needs her own channel - maybe it'll pay for college! LOL! Though, I'm just nervous to make one for her b/c you hear of all the downsides of the child YT stars. And hubby is totally against it. So, for now, she'll just be in mine!
Just came across your video, love the candid honesty and the way you worked through it all, very informative. I was questioning the magnetic eyeliner and safety, as we all know not every product has our best interest in mind, more of their interest is in quick sales. I loved most of all your daughter!! How adorable is she!!!! Future You Tuber!! LOL, well we hope that isn't all she does of course, but with a mom like you she is sure to go far!! Take care and God Bless!

I really enjoyed this video along with your cute daughter. I just ordered some magnetic eyelashes and was curious how to use them. This was very informative.
Hi Dr. Wong... I was just introduced to the Tori Bella eye lashes and I thank you for allaying my fears about the whole "magnetic" aspect of the eyeliner. My concern was the fact that people use magnets in matresses, foot reflexology applications and I was thinking (for some reason) that one could do something to the brain (like interupt brain waves ?) if one used magnets so close to the brain. Let us know if you have any thoughts about this! Thank You for taking the time to help out with this!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO...YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THE LASH STRUGGLE!! I LITERALLY JUST PURCHASED THE KISS BRAND...I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE MAGNETIC ASPECT ESPECIALLY SINCE I SUFFER FROM EUVITIS IN BOTH EYES!!
I'm very interested in these, but I have to say FDA approval means nothing. I'm sure a lot of you know that the FDA can not be trusted. I'd like to hear more from Dr. Wong after she's worn these for months. Just doesn't seem right to put iron near your eyes. I hope I'm wrong and they are safe because they certainly look amazing!!
Joy Photography Hi I wanted to say that Laura Hunter is the creator and founder of the magnetic liner. She follows European standards which are better than US standards sadly, but also its iron oxide which is in almost every single makeup product out there. It is very gentle on the eyes for sure
It feels good to get a medical opinion on products, you can tell youre very professional and your daughter is so sweet. sorry for the incorrect grammar, just wanted to send some positive vibes.
the nice thing is that you actually can cut these. I cut one pair to see if it would stick better on the edges. I have some other magnetic lashes that I had tried before that you can't cut.

Also, I think the thing of “I’m bad at eye makeup even though I’m an eye surgeon” has to do with like... painting someone else’s nails is easier than painting your own...
How To Be Chi yes!! And the fact that I have a big nose too I think! Plus I’m super impatient with things like but so patient as a surgeon!
@@DrRupaWong Your nose is definitely not big! Silly woman ; )
Wow.. I would have never thought about the MRI. This is Informative! You should have way more views!
Thanks so much for your kind words. It's a small amount of magnetic material, but I wouldn't take a chance in an MRI! Thanks for watching!
SaFire Goddess yes !!! When she mentioned that I was in shock!! Hopefully we all do remember it is magnetic when we need to.
@@MusicRoxMyWorld1158 I wanna know this too! I remember I wore clip in extensions years ago and the clips had metal in them. Very awkward situation!!!
Wigs also have metal in them. I had to remove mine for a MRI.

Thanks Doctor Leslie!!! I appreciate the support. Now, I just have to learn how to do tik tok (i doubt that will ever happen!)

@@DrRupaWong yes please 🙏
I LOVED this vid. I have a very short attention span, I click and move constantly. You were so direct and to the point. Very human not commercial. Explained it excellently and it was a very realistic vid. EXCELLENT. You're very pretty with our without makeup. I loved when you said 'I'm a real person, not a makeup artist.' And your Lil one's cameo was adorable 🥰
Thank you so much for your kind words. And, love your profile pic!
Glad to know I'm not the only one that struggled with falsies! That's a good tip about the regular liner first!
Thanks for the eyeliner tip! 😅
Great idea, I’m definitely going to try it ..
"I am mummy's daughter and I look like her" ❤❤❤ The most adorable thing I have watched today😩💕

I have another one coming up where she does the same thing. lol
Dr. Rupa Wong please, let her just blossom, don’t hold her back. She’l be a good leader in the future, I can tell. ☺️☺️
Just wanted to say thank you. Before I tried them I was definitely concerned with the safety aspect. And... Both of you guys are simply beautiful ❤
Lotta so true, I agree! She is gorgeous and gave a nice honest review!
Your kindness really shines thru, and your daughter!!! 😭😭😭 She is so adorable and sweet, you rock as an eye doctor and a mom 👏
Thank you, Charlie!
I'll have to try that! That sounds smart. Especially since brush gets a little weird after a while.
I'm such a total klutz when it comes to eye liner! My hands shake & it never looks right. I'm prob stuck w my own lashes; I always had awesome lashes, but w a low thyroid, they've thinned a bit. Sigh. Not as long.
Stephanie G that’s exactly what I do. Works great
This has been the realest review I have come across.
Where did you order your lashes from?
@@DrRupaWong hi do they cut your eyelashes afterwards? because my lashes have been growing lately

I bought those too from amazon and could never get them to connect properly either!
It’s worth buying the magnetic eyelash tool thingy. Much easier.
Great video
Thank you, Jade! I am glad to help. :)
I appreciate this video as it helped me make a decision about trying them. I love that you were just a regular person trying them and not a makeup artist that makes it look so easy. You also did one more thing that I was looking for that the other videos lacked. You showed the removal of the liner, so thank you.
Thanks Doc! Now I'm not afraid to purchase them. I was freaking out about the magnetic liner. You're really pretty and your munchkin is a cutie!
Aww thanks so much Kay! Happy New Year!
I had mine on the shelf for over a year. You gave me hope . I’ll try them tonight!
🤗
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words and I'm glad this video was helpful!

Aww thanks so much - she's a little YT star in the making (who am I kidding, she's way better at this stuff than I am, I'll stick to doctoring!)
I just ordered mine and was curious about the safety. Thank you so much for your review! And your daughter is adorable 😍
Thank you so much Susie! Hope you like them. I found if I use more liner, they stayed on better.
Your daughter is going to be a heartbreaker! So gorgeous!
Thanks so much Tessa! She kind of knows it already too (blame it on being the last and only girl in the family after 2 boys!). Hoping her older brothers will keep her out of trouble!
Love that you mentioned MRI...even though it’s a small amount I’m glad you mentioned it. Now what about a heart defibrillator/pacemaker?
Did you trim them first? I've heard they're extra long and might need trimming.
I'm so glad! I honestly made this video because I found them actually easier than anything else. Should have asked the company to sponsor me. Lol!
Dr. Rupa Wong Oops, but is it okay to buy them from Amazon? 😬
🤦♀️ Purchased the Lashliner brand now
& the lashliner can work with any magnetic lashes.
She reminds me of a prettier version of Janice from Friends
Someone said I sounded like Janice from Friends. lol!
Love it shes my favorite character.. pure comedy
Oh. My. Gawt.
Im dying with laughter.. lmao
Oh yeah...
Haha. My husband is an ophthalmologist too - and honestly, he would probably say the same thing as your eye doctor. Sometimes, they just don't get it!
I am glad this was helpful!
Thank you!!
This was the best review i have watched on the magnetic liner from beginning to end, i will be giving it a try,Thank you Dr.Wong :)
Thank you so much for watching!
Dr. Rupa Wong can you tell me which brand you used in this video ?
Thank you, I was concerned about using the liner, but you listed the risks and your opinion, so I feel better about trying this product.
I'm so glad you found it helpful! I had a lot of these questions before I tried them, so I figured others did too!
@@OnceUponAMidnightDreary Yes, that was my concern too. My eyes are super sensitive so I worried about that. I found it pretty easy to remove.
I saw a makeup artist put these on, and she applied her eyeliner very thickly. This is very helpful, and BTW, you and your daughter are both adorable.
Yes, definitely on subsequent tries, I had more success when I put the eyeliner on more thickly. And, thank you so much for your kind comments Connie!
Thanks Fiona! Yeah - it definitely takes longer than seconds for me!
This is the only review that matters ! I have been looking for this . Someone who can explain the obvious: what happens when you apply magnetic liquids onto your eyes! I care about this more than how it looks ! Thank you so much for this review 🌼

Thank you for your video here👏🏽 I’ve just brought these lashes and I feel confident that these products will win me over eyelash extensions which have badly damaged my natural lashes- thank you 🙏🏽🙂
I know lash extensions really damaged my natural lashes too a few years ago. Took me a year of Latisse to grow them back!

Glad it was helpful. There's iron oxide in a lot of eye makeup, so that didn't concern me overly much.
@@DrRupaWong HI! LOVED this video-- so informative. Thank you! Could you please talk more about the iron oxide part and the staining you are referring to? Will it stain your eye lid or your eye ball? I use the Kiss brand magnetic liner. I usually do a couple coats. They stay on through my 12 hour shifts. It’s only $8.99.
You are awesome! Your perspective was very important... your daughter is the cutest!

Thanks so much Cassandra!
Those are all great tips - glad it worked out for you!
👏👏 I have sensitive eyes too and I'm glad I came across your video as I wanted to know if they were also safe. Glad they were a hit! Thank you👁️👁️
Way easier than the glue. And I always feel the glue on my lids which drives me crazy!
So nice to get a review from an authentic and obviously quite intelligent vlogger! Thanks!
Lol
Thanks for the video! I subscribed 👍🏻👍🏻
So, it's not just me then! Whew! I mean, I can do cataract surgery on a baby, but put on false lashes? Forget it!
Ha ha!!
I took care of my mom after her hooded eyelid surgery. She is a very private person but she did appreciate the surgery. Get a lot of naps in 🧡
I have used a non surgery solution....Lids by Design. Check it out. It works amazingly.
I initially went for a consult for eyelid surgery and got a forehead lift instead - my brows were pushing my lids down.
I’m interested in this. I have been thinking of this as well.
Absolutely adore ur daughter's intro, that was super cute. she does look like mommy.. You having lashes on looks gorgeous, brings out ur eyes more.. So glad to you figured out how to apply. You look beautiful 💜💜
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thank you for this review. I appreciate a professional opinion on this!
You are welcome!
Your daughter needs her own channel...lol. She's precious! Great video from a real person.
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad this was helpful. It is definitely fun having my daughter be apart of the videos! :)
Omg ! Mommy’s daughter is soo precious and beautiful
Thanks so much Amanda!!
Thank you for the honest review. Your daughter is precious!
Aww thanks so much!
I'm late to the show....very informative video as I've seen ads for these magnetic eyelashes all over my FB page. Also, I had to subscribe bc u and ur daughter r so cute 😊💓
Love this!!!! The little makeup artist was a great addition. Thanks for your review.
I really enjoyed this video along with your cute daughter. I just ordered some magnetic eyelashes and was curious how to use them. This was very informative.
Thanks for watching Kelsey and I'm so glad it was helpful!
"I'm a real person doing this" lol...love this. This is perfect.
You are soooooo pretty! Great personality!
Thank you for sharing this ... as an eye surgeon I really appreciate you taking the time . ❤😁😐
You are so kind! Thank you for your sweet words!
@@DrRupaWong I'm Just Honest 😊💕
Hi Dr.
Alicia Goodwin thank you, that’s helpful to know!
Yes the FDA, i don't trust them. I want a review after a year of consistent use.
It feels good to get a medical opinion on products, you can tell youre very professional and your daughter is so sweet. sorry for the incorrect grammar, just wanted to send some positive vibes.
This Hawaii girl heard you say “Hawaii girl” 😂 Mahalo nui for the info! ❤️
You are so cute, and so is your daughter. But what I like best about you is that you're real. You're not covering up your mistakes. Love it!
This was very helpful. I’m going to place an order. I have small eyes so I’m hoping i dont have to cut them.
the nice thing is that you actually can cut these. I cut one pair to see if it would stick better on the edges. I have some other magnetic lashes that I had tried before that you can't cut.
