Thank you! They have a really neat paint scheme. The "door closing" sound on the passenger cars is a recording of the "meep meep" sound from the old Roadrunner cartoons, which is pretty funny too.
Thanks! I'm pretty sure they do. The older ones (1101 - 1105 I think) sound better than the newer ones (1107 at the end of the video). Since these were all built relatively recently, they didn't go through all the choke bs that Coaster had to deal with.

The Railrunner is a great ride and fares are more than reasonable. Unfortunately it has its critics that don't understand public transit is not to make a profit but to just have the service, which a great deal of planning makes it worthwhile...especially on the south end with the connection to Socorro...incredibly inexpensive!
Great video, as expected. I like your 40-second lead-in. Also it's fun to hear a locomotive that doesn't need to have a constant-rpm revving up from a start.
Ever since I've heard about the New Mexico Rail Runner I have always wanted to see it. I think it is so cool the way the rode runner is on the side of the MP36PH-3Cs.
That's funny, instead of "Caution, the doors are about to close" like on the Metra, it's "Meep Meep" on the New Mexico Rail Runner. My dad likes the old road runner cartoons.
@Metra MP36 407, only Caltrain, metra and Virginia Railway Express have gallery cars and only those railroads have the "Caution the doors are about to close" announcement and the others are just a high pitch beeping sound like Metrolink's and others commuter rails. Rail runners is road runners keep sound.
I live in Albuquerque. New Mexico is SO underrated. I wish it was as packed with train action as say, SoCal or Illinois. But you have to have a sharp eye if you want to study rail history in New Mexico. Back then, it dominated the state.
That's cool! I like it! Love the paint scheme on the commuter trains you all have. I also like the "beep-beep" signal of the doors closing, very original!

Well, ACE does own some of the final EMD F40 ever built, so it would be bad if one of those would be damaged. I heard that the storm caused a tree to fall onto the track wich caused the derailment. And yes, Thank god everyone survived.
From the sound of it, only the first 2 cars were damaged. The cab car (#3309) was leading when it hit the tree and derailed. It slid down the embankment. The second car derailed but remained upright (also a cab car, number 3304). I think the others were ok.

The "closing doors" sound on the passenger cars is the
"meep meep" sound like in the road runner cartoons. It's pretty funny.
It should be “BEEP BEEP!” on all trains when it closes
“MEEP MEEP!” and “BEEP BEEP!” are different
Albuquerque was my home town and my dad worked for Sante Fe rail road and I've road the trains out of Albuquerque many times, left there in 1952
You've 'rode' the trains ... Please massacre the English language.

I don't think most people in the car want to hear a back-up alarm while they're traveling to or from work.

I was in Lamy last week. They have several passenger cars and two locomotives sitting there.
crazytaxi1000 is right about the bells but the horns are pretty cool
because the K5 on the engines sound like a K3
The tre and sunrail have that Bell
I prefer a Graham-White E-BELL used on an ES44AC or an SD70ACe!
I live in NM and taking the rail runner to Santa Fe is way better than driving.
2:06 that's the bell VIA rail uses on they're f40ph's
What type of bell is it?
Transtronic E Bell.
3:03, can I just say that I really like this bell. What type is it?
i hear a "beep beep" sound! it reminds of roadrunner from Looney Tunes!
I been railfanning and recording/NMRX since day 1 July 14, 2006
finally I get to hear the railrunners horn
Amt bi levels had the same horn these cab cars had. If they still had k5las and no quiet zones i would hear them
Yea
Very good video! Goos Job!:)
2:01 what type of E-bell is that. I know it’s not a graham E-bell
It in fact is not a Graham White E-Bell. They sometimes use those kind of bells on trains. It’s the “Canadian E-Bell”.
Josh Playz ok
That is the Transtronic E Bell.

VIA rail uses them on there f40's i hear them often since i live near toronto union station and VIA rail runs in and out of the station constantly
