For the last 25 years I have made 2 extended AMTRAK trips a year. I grew up in Washington so at least half the trips go there. I have been trying to find different routes there. There are quite a few ways to do this. Many of my trips are to places that I had never been before. I always tried to save up enough money to get a sleeper when available. I have discovered that most of my fellow travelers are relaxed and pleasant companions. None have been annoyed by the time a trip takes otherwise we would be on an airplane. I have just turned 90, so my real traveling days are over. Watching your video brings me so many delightful and enjoyable memories. Just because I cry like a baby watching them the tears are tears of joy. Blessings Jim

I’ve only ever seen ONE seimens charger that was on the surferliner in Dana point California. I still only see p42’s such as 61 69 63 and 58 in Texas. Also have an AWESOME summer mike!!

i had an enjoyable 5 hour trip on July 9th from Houston to Lafayette the engines pulling my train was p42s number 37 and 204 i was in the very back of the train in car number 34032 2 cars behind the observation car which is coach class on the sunset limited
I will be boarding Amtrak sunset limited on July 9th from Houston Texas to Lafayette Louisiana on coach in the upper level it will be my first train ride ever
