      @SaithMasu12 2 года назад +77

      I don t know.
      Every progression system has its pros and cons.
      This one is just as flawed.
      I remember that back in the day the first thing i did to get more points in Acrobatic is to jump up and down the first hill you can climb.
      If it hurt it was even better as that raised the bar faster.
      Once i got a good enough level in that (after 1 hour of up and down running a hill) i equiped the worst possible dagger i could find and attacked the crabs arround the shores. Since the dagger didnt do much damage the fight prolonged a lot longer which was the point. That way you get short sword points in no time.
      Rince and repeat with pretty much every other aspect in the game and voila you trained to an absolute super soldier in the first town without playing the game.

      Chameleon doesn't strike me as worth the effort, you can already cheese the game with _Cast on Target_ enchantments at a very low level. The invisibility was mainly for dodging the cliff racers and being able to explore or travel on foot undisturbed.

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 2 года назад

      @@ProjectExMachina I don't consider those to be good reasons for it. I'm also not the type to steal from merchants. Sanctuary + all max stats already makes your character impossible to kill without you trying to suicide, and no drawbacks unlike max Chameleon. Element of surprise is only useful at a low level.
      My weapons of choice were at first melee weapons, then later a trio of humble Expensive Rings each enchanted to launch an elemental spell on target with dozens of charges. Trash anything before it even get close at all. It is like having AK47s in your arsenal. It is kind of disappointing that enchantment is so broken without glitches or hacks, possible at a low level.

      Morrowind did really well with that, both in just normal gameplay and in the factions. I hate how in later games you can become the archimage without learning a single spell or head of the fighters guild as a thief or be a thief/assassin that runs around in heavy armor with no stealth skills to speak of. In Morrowind you had to earn your rank and develop the specific skills for each faction. It was so much better.

      @@cameronaberner well actually in oblivion you still have to improve in some aspects related to guild. If you can't fight at all you won't make it in guild of fighters et cetera. @@ДенисИванов-э9у Improving definitely made it easier but you could still brute force your way through a guild without actually advancing their skills at all. I did exactly that with the Mages guild most playthroughs, a high level warrior type can usually just wade through the corpses of mages guild quest enemies without having to cast a single spell, eventually stabbing and punching their way up to arch mage. Morrowind had skill and attribute requirements to gain ranks, I couldn't tell you the number of times I had to slog off to a trainer to get one skill that I never used up high enough for me to advance in House Redoran or the Mages Guild.

    A few years ago I went all out on a pure mage playthrough in Morrowind. Used some balancing mods but regardless it was painful for the first few hours. It's all kiting and running away to heal when fighting single enemies, but play the long game and you'll find out that Morrowind had the absolute best magic system of the Elder Scrolls games. It really shows how dumbed down Skyrim's magic is and made me appreciate what they kept for Oblivion.

    The things like accidentally stumbling on the Falling Wizard and his Scroll of Icarian Flight. It's events like that, that make Morrowind one of the best of the TES games. You didn't really have a "quest log" per say, your journal was an actual journal (and when I first played it, I literally had a school notebook to write stuff in to keep track of quests, house I used to store stuff in, etc)

    • @REVOLVERDREW

      When I played Daggerfall, I had a pocket-sized notebook by my side. Also had a printout of the calendar they use in game so I could keep track of holidays and Daedra summoning days. When I finally bought a house, I chose one near businesses to use as landmarks, labeled it "[name]'s house" in-game, wrote the name of the town in my notebook, AND piled a bunch of stuff on my rooftop...towns were huge in that game. Morrowind will always be my favorite though.
