    Big thanks for taking the time out to share these fixes! I had an issue with my 12.5" Grendel pistol not extracting wolf steel cased ammo. I use an H2 buffer. I swapped out the ejector and spring with a wolf brand and - no more problems, all is flawlwss now. In 6.5 Grndel bliss. Ordered a 12.5 Beowulf upper now ( I reload)

    Open the extractor groove up and polish. It will fix the problem👍🏻

      The bolt carrier group I'm using for my 50 Beowulf is from Palmetto State Armory. It is there 6.5 Grendel bolt carrier group, and I only use Alexander Arms ammunition the Underwood Ammunition always seems to jam up.

      @let's Go Brandon I took it shooting about a month ago. I think I shot around 60 rounds to 70 rounds and maybe had two or three of them jam up so yeah about 90% issues fixed you should also probably using one of those 4 round Lancer magazines I modified mine so the round sits in there evenly not offset and I've also learned to keep the gun really clean and Lube and I also have a very heavy buffer on mine which may be good or not that's still up in the air because I use a rifle length buffer tube and most of the videos about the 50 Beowulf show it using a carbine length. You can go to Alexander Arms and get some good information; they are the ones that created the 50 Beowulf and the 6.5 Grendel. I hope everything works out for you.

    Would a 6.5 Grendel bcg work with the 50 Beowulf

    • @bimmersandars9221

      YES That's exactly what I'm using the 6.5 Grendel bolt carry group from Palmetto State Armory

    Remove the extractor and grind off the two sharp corners of the extractor claw. Or buy an entire BCG.

      Or aa makes an extractor and you just replace that now

      The AA extractor is a standard extractor with the corners ground off for three times the price.

    Great info. Can I just swap out the BCG that came with my AA Beowulf for 6.5 Grendel BCG? Do I have to modify anything or can I just drop it in and go? Thanks!

    • @bimmersandars9221
      @bimmersandars9221  Год назад +1

      Yes, just swap them out. You can just swap out the extractor alone or just the bolt. Get one at Grendelhunter dot com or Alexander Arms sells one. But to be honest if you have an Alexander Arms 50 Beowulf upper receiver with their BCG you shouldn't be having any problems just make sure you are using their ammunition and a good magazine but if you are having problems change over to the 6.5 Grendel. But it could be other things too. Hope this helps.

    EXCELLENT job, here.....I am in the process of buying all my parts for the .50 Beowulf build that I am doing. This is great advice.
    One quick question: What kind of buffer tube spring are you using? Do you prefer one over another? I can imagine that the recoil is quite prominent coming out of that .50...

    • @bimmersandars9221
      @bimmersandars9221  2 года назад +2

      If I remember correctly, I use a t3 heavy rifle length buffer but you can just use the standard carbine length buffer.

    Hey guys my ar upper did not come with the pinholes for my port(dust) cover pin&spring. Any recommendations?

    • @bimmersandars9221
      @bimmersandars9221  2 года назад +2

      Hey I wouldn't worry about it a lot of companies nowadays sale they're upper receivers without the dust cover being able to go on at all I have two of them they usually call them smooth receivers and it usually doesn't have the forward assist either. And I've removed my dust from all my big bore ARs. But if you are worried about it just put some plastic wrap over the port until you're ready to go shooting. But personally I don't do none of that I just keep my guns pretty clean.

    can you buy the thinner extractor part?

    • @bimmersandars9221
      @bimmersandars9221  2 года назад

      Hello I'm going to say I'm not sure because it is just about whoever made that extractor they might have made it a little bit thinner. And thinner is not always better because it might break. Somebody else had posted a comment about maybe just polishing the edges of the extractor maybe with a file personally I wouldn't do that I've thought about it. The bolt carrier group I use is a 6.5 Grendel from Palmetto State Armory and that came with a thinner extractor. And I've had no problems with that one at all. But my gun also will not shoot nothing but Alexander Arms ammunition it will not shoot the Underwood.
      I'm hoping this helps you out

    So your ok with “modifying the mags to feed correctly” but you then “I shouldn’t HAVE to fit the extractor, it should just work BC it’s mILsPeC?” Where is the logic behind that? Also nothing about this is “Mil-spec”... That’s a slogan for cheap shit. How else do you equip tens of thousands of troops in a budget

    • @bimmersandars9221
      @bimmersandars9221  2 года назад +1

      Yes the extractor that came with the 50 Beowulf was a piece of crap that's why I put in my 6.5 Grendel bolt carrier group and I've had no problems some companies make good products and some companies make garbage you don't know the difference until you have them. Referring to stuff being milspec that's always up in the air with the 50 Beowulf it's not a 5.56 extractor it's a 6.5 Grendel extractor and I have at least four different 6.5 Grendel extractors and they all have different specs so definitely not mil-spec if you want to keep it milspec just shoot 5.56. 😉
