So platforms werent extended? So QR and QLD government going to pinch us again when they want to extend stations for running of 9 car trans. You know they qill come eventually or cross river rail was a massive waste of money, those stations are being built to accommodate 9 car trains, so you would think that with every station upgrade being done from the start of cross river rail, would include extensions of platforms to save money now then later when costs will be higher.

As these are surface level platforms extending them isn’t as difficult as say underground stations. Also worth adding that in all likelihood just the express services will be 9 car as the Beenleigh line trains are never that busy in comparison to the Gold Coast train

It is a passenger line, but a freight line I think runs besides it?

(9:31) is one of the reasons Brisbane is one of the worst train networks in Australia, (50year old)1st generation trains

They are actually a similar age to Sydney’s K sets and Melbournes comeng trains. Despite being similar ages to both they are more modern in design to both of those units and more modern than newer trains like the Tangara thanks to several upgrades through its life time

@@thestargateking I see brisbane's old trains nothing but distant relatives of perths old ADG class suburban diesel railcars just electrified - a way of having old steam trains STILL running regular service - somethings don't have the "lifespan" of those of same age

@@paulwilliams5208 those Perth diesels units are well older than the EMU. The emu has held up well.

@@thestargatekingI was on one yesterday on the doomben line and they are normally good but This one had so much graffiti painted on the outside it was disappointing. The sound system was shot - couldn’t understand a word of it as it was muffled and it shook like we were about to fly off the rails lmao!!! Otherwise I love the EMUs most of them are still going hard!! I love how fast the doors close!
