@@electro_sykes this is just temporary as construction is being worked on, I believe they are expecting services to properly start by the end of the year but I’m betting early next year

@@MrGromkor 8 miles plains is a short hop to the depot where they can be charged

Storm season just makes this more likely, always love the vibes rain and trains can have together, thunder and lightning just add something extra

Thats Banyo, which cant have the level crossing removed (at least by changing the rail corridor) because of the depot nearby

@@thestargateking Thats why I proposed rebuilding Banyp elsewhere elevated and closing bindha and banyo stations. Its not a major crossing though.

@@electro_sykes theres no logical place to move Banyo station too, at least if the goal is to merge Bindha and Banyo. Looking at street view it may be possible to build a road tunnel to replace the level crossing, but anything is going to be difficult and expensive for a minor crossing

The level crossing poses no threat. Unlike Carseldine, Banyo does not experience a gridlock peak whereas Beams Road has to contend with 2 lines as well as empty movements on weekdays.

@@thestargateking the level crossing is minor as most people just use the overpass between bindha and northgate

@@electro_sykes yeah it makes sense to rename it, it just sounds cursed to hear boggo road park road

@@electro_sykes not every level crossing is a hazard that requires removal, if they were to remove it they would likely do road over which would be a seperate project (similar to the current project at Carseldine and soon coopers plains. You’d only bother doing something like Skyrail when you have several back to back to back level crossings which isn’t a common thing on the network.

@@thestargateking I would of personally done deep a cutting for banyo and replaced Banyo and Binda stations with a new cut and cover Banyo Station in between. Banyo level crossing would be hard to remove otherwise and its pretty dangerous.

@@electro_sykes it’s very expensive to do that to remove a single level crossing and Banyo stabling yard makes moving the track impossible

@@thestargateking or elevated could be better actually. The stabling yard would have to go but there are some nearby warehouses that could be demolished for that. that said, although it is quite dangerous, banyo level crossing acts as more of a local one, since many use northgate road overpass to get between southern cross way and sandgate road.

@@electro_sykes yeah they arent going to remove banyo yard, it would be cheaper to do a road bridge over the train line than relocate a depot

Don't worry. Once Nambour is paired up with CRR, they will only be able to run NGR (and eventually QTMP) trains.

@@davemail66 in the event a non toilet unit ends up towards Nambour they do a comfort stop at caboolture, makes the train late but I imagine with the 160 fleet being refurbished you can end up short every now and then

that there i definitely have experienced before@@thestargatekingbeen on a Nambour service without toilets being held up at Caboolture for at least five minutes or so, same with a southbound one

that might be the case, but that was basically ten years ago or so from what i already have seen on the internet if i look it up@@thestargatekingand i do think that some of the stations up on the Sunshine Coast line that could really do with upgrades as well, especially those with just a singular platform - even the stations between Lota & Cleveland should have a second platform

@@Enthusiastic-Trainspotter-BNE what do you mean 10 years ago? If you mean other stations being worked on there’s several still in progress right now and several more planned including Albion, wooloowin and every station from Trinder park to Beenleigh

i'm going to imagine this facility will still see light work. its still got to complete the contract for the 260/160 refurbishment which is going to take time and will likely overlap with the New Torbanlea facility manufacturing new trains. it'll probably just be that small works go to Maryborugh (like refurbs) and big projects go to Torbanlea

i used to use the old ekka station before works started. Trains are able to run cause most of the works for the station dont involve the track (except for the last remaining track which isnt open yet)

during a previous track closure not too long ago, cant remember exactly when but it was before i went to Sydney a month ago
