This is one of my favourite songs. As I don't understand Korean, even if I know the topic, I find this song extremely soothing, like a gentle hug. Hyunjin is probably my fav Stray Kids lyricist and composer, because of his poetry and musicality. Another song he wrote that made me cry my eyes out the first time I read the lyrics is #Lovestay. Have you already reacted to that one? And he is also responsible for Cover Me (😭), and Taste (and Red Lights). Even if Taste is in a different register, the lyrics are still very metaphorical and poetic. I probably lose a lot in translation, but I still found it very beautiful.
This song is so beautiful, but if you really want to cry I recommend you to listen to Seungmin's solo "Hold On" which also touches the topic of grieving and loss of a pet, and how you wish that one day in the future you'll be reunited again. Written by Han, he mentioned he got inspired after a convo with Seungmin about dogs and how despite wanting to adopt one, Seungmin doesn't feel ready to think about loss and grief when the time inevitably comes. Both pieces are astounding and I can't but sob like a baby when I listen to them 🥲🥲🥲
I agree. Hyunjin's song makes me cry, particularly the first time I heard it and saw the video. But it has a kind of melancholy, wistful feel to it, a gentle sadness. It conveys heartbreak but also evokes happy memories of your own pet you've lost. So beautiful. Whereas Seungmin absolutely tore my heart out with Hold On. His passionate voice and Han putting into such powerful words the fear that Seungmin has about having to experience that kind of loss - it's just devastating. Seungmin put so much pain into his performance, even though it's something he hasn't experienced himself yet. I still have to be in the right frame of mind to listen to it or I become an absolute sobbing mess, even after hearing it so many times.
Hyunjin's dog was called Kkomi (hence, the Korean name of the song). His family got the puppy when Hyunjin was 12, but it got sick and then passed within a couple of weeks. His current dog is Kkami, as a nod to Kkomi.
Also, the teddy bear squeaky toy is supposedly a Kkomi reference, because Hyunjin has said Kkomi looked like a teddy bear. He has shared one puppy pic of Kkomi, and Kkomi was indeed very teddy bear-like.
His family picked up this puppy and in a short time it got very sick. Someone had said Parvo. Hyunjin was very sorry and sad that they could not help him. He got Kkami after.

I'm surprised noone mentioned that this song eventhough is so sad and tradgic was a beacon of hope for people supporting hyunjin as "little star" came out not long before his hiatus in 2021, i remember the time when we would re-listen to it over and over againg in hopes that one day soon he will come back. man that was such a tough time for the fandom, we were given zero information about hyunjin for 4 months, and then, one day at the end of june they dropped Mixtape: OH, the way i cried that day.... anyway, yes, that song is very sad to me, but as i am not a korean speaker i can only get the tragic vibe of it and his beautiful vocals, so it reminds me of hard times of the past and how we got through it toghether

This song was so similar to a love song because it is a love song. And Hyunjin is so handsome because his puppy saw him like that. Beautiful and loved. The first time I listened to this song and watched the mv I was consumed by 2 emotions. First, a deep sadness/grief over my dog that passed and how I didnt grief properly back then. This mv gave me an outlet to finally cry it out. Second, a new found love and connection to Hyunjin and Skz in general (this was one of the first songs I listened by Skz). This song was just so touching and gave me such a strong emotion that after listening to it I became a stay and Hyunjin bias. After the years of stanning them, I have always loved Hyunjin songs for the poetic lyrics and the melodies that just envelop me with emotion and a comforting energy (idk how to explain)

Hyunjin recently invited to dog days premiere film about Pets, he mentioned he cried a lot during watching it there after long time his tears fell ,he hold his mouth and cried thinking about his two puppies:(( he's so precious

People always asks if I don't want a pet (I absolutely love cats and will stop on the street to talk to/pet one) and I'm like... Grief can be very reoccurring and seemingly endless and undefined. So I believe the song style works really well for this thought.
