Just because the card is selected after you choose a backwards facing card doesn't mean that the card they provide you is not already predetermined. It would be equally random either way: either the server randomizes the order of the cards and then picks the one at the user's selected index, or if the server just randomly picks a single card. We'll likely never know the actual implementation as a result.
My guess is : The system needs to receive your choice because all cards are blank before you choose, and it will decide which card to give you based on probability at the moment you choose. So it seems that the probability of all five cards is 20%, but it doesn’t feel like it.
It will take so much more code and problems doing that way, its nuch easier to just shuffle them and then you choose the one in certein position. If it was decided in the moment you would have much more lag when clicking the card, witch is something that doesnt happen

There was a post on twitter that claimed you could track the cards to guarantee what your want but after the small update a few days ago, you no longer can. I don't know how much truth there is to it because by the time I came across the post "it had already been fixed".
When picking ex’s I noticed that they’d all take the same spot. For example, I got a few ex’s the other day by picking the first slot. The next day it was the second slot.
I wonder if the shuffle is always the same for the same wonder pick option. For example if you have two accounts do the same wonder pick and pick the same card will they get the same card? Honestly I could see them doing something like this. On Pokemon Go the calculations for the CP potential of a Pokemon are done when the pokemon appears. But it's level actually varies based on the players level, I think whether it is shiny also can vary based on player level? Basically it's not uncommon for these types of things to be predetermined and then it just depends on what the player does. Could be very useful when trying to get a rare card in a wonder pick since you could use alternate accounts to figure out which card you should pick.
Before the latest updates, you could actually see and pick the card from wonder pick 80% of the time... Now is impossible to see how the cards get shuffled... Wonder pick is now crap
I honestly don’t know with the wonder picks. I used to get everything I want from EX to Full arts, then I went like a week straight not getting anything 😂
Theres something weird with the wonder pick, I’ve noticed a pattern where the cards that I want are either in the middle or down to the left and never the other spots. Its definitely not rigged since I pulled a 2 stars zapdos ex but I think it’s pre determined like the packs.
I know this matters even less, but I’m so curious whether the cards are actually displayed in the order it shows you afterwards the whole time, or whether it picks the card randomly the moment you tap, if that makes sense
Man, I wish it was random. Feels terrible seeing I just didn't guess the correct spot, especially where it's the spot right next to it or the card just stayed in the same spot. Just roll a dice and take that choice away from me lol
The other way arround could be true as well wouldnt this mean that the card you select is calculated 1/5 only after you "make a choice" thus no matter which card you tap on, the chance will be rolled between the 5 cards anyways? thus not mattering which one I pick since nothing is coded into the cards on the card selection screen yet and thats why it gave you an internet error
It can still be 1/5 chance, it can just be predetermined before you select which of the 5 cards to turn over. The assumption is that you *can* get any of the 5, but that its determined when you select which batch to wonder pick from, not when you select which card. It would just mean that you can't "pick the wrong card" for wonder pick, because it was always going to give you that 8th eevee you don't need and not the Aerodactyl you need to complete the fossil special collection (just me? lol)
Just so you know, almost every time you see a "Visual Random Selector" like for example, slots and spinnable roulettes, the visuals are just for show, the moment you click the button the RNG does its magic according to the odds, sets de result, and then alters the animation so it shows the determined value. The odds themselves aren't altered in any way. So yeah, if you ever spin a wheel powered by software and you get the dreaded "I was so close to the price but it moved one more time", the machine isn't cheating as most people think, the animation just fixed itself to give you your price. Is quite a powerfull psychological trick if you are unaware, like most people I'm not saying the Wonder Pick works like that because we don't have yet a sure fire way to check the generation moment, but if the "shuffled cards" were just for show and your card was actually generated the moment you tap, it wouldn't be illegal nor rare

@@MrCowboy6588 maybe im misunderstanding, but any sort of predetermined choice, would be a problem. Per your example: if there is a full art and a squirtle (i dont have), if when i pick they determine that i get squirtle because i dont have it, that would not be 1/5 chance. Now I’m wondering for the main pack picks. If it’s determined the second you choose to open a pack, does the time of day or exact time within a given hour have any effect on possible pulls?
That depends on when the game generates the seed used to calculate everything RNG related. It could generate it when you open the game, or regenerate it every time you make some specific actions. It could even be tied to your user ID.
@@inazumatan7050I think they’re not asking in a superstitious way like is nighttime a better time for pulling packs, they’re wondering how TCGPocket’s RNG is built, cause there is no such thing as true randomness in computers. It’s based off a seed that is determined in…some way. Such as save file creation or when you start a new game session (as in your seed is shuffled every time you close and reopen the game). This could mean anything from every pack you pull is actually predetermined from the moment you created your account (an example of RNG like this is Stardew Valley geodes), or if you were able to prevent the game from saving your pull you could retry with different luck because you’ll on a different frame and so you’ll receive different results (RNG like this is actually well understood in at least some of the older Pokemon games, such as Pokemon Emerald, where you can apparently determine what frames you can encounter a shiny Pokemon. I don’t fully understand it though) Game RNG is truly a fascinating subject as many games handle it differently, some more exploitable than others which is how we get RNG manipulation in speedruns
If you ever rerolled you know that wonderpick is predetirmined for you to get 1 full art basic pokemon No metter what of the 5 card you choose And the non basic will just took a random spot on the other 4 card So i feel like the rng or the data is sent the moment you tap 1 random card And yeah. When it is shown face down all the card is basically still empty spaces And after your pick is revealed then the rest of the card is loaded into the rest of the slot 😂
@Bropenings I believe the game roll the rng the moment u pick 1 card and then load the rest of the card in the left over slot Reroll is always basic because the game gives u a guarenteed roll on your first pick So in the end the choosing is also an illusion
well, picking the same spot (regardless if it is of the card or not), assuming your choice matters, kinda normalizes your RNG to 20% faster. If you pick a random spot everytime, there is a chance you make things worse for you on a low sample size.
why are are my friends wonder picks not cards they actually got in a pack… i will screen shot my friends wonder pick he will go to recents and that combination of cards is nowhere to be found. i dont think they are actually packs your friends opened
Friend wonder pick selection seems rigged though. A friend pulled three 2star, two 1star, and four regular Ex while opening 20 packs, which was pretty good. The wonder picks only showed me the trash packs. They bottleneck what they will show you.
I'm genuinely surprised nobody has tried muting their volume scrolling through the packs and feeling the vibration I have pulled five ex cards and I have less than 200 total cards already from doing this. When scrolling through the packs one of them is going to vibrate harder than the others You need to scroll back to the pack you just scrolled off of not the one you went to has given me much much higher odds And Wonder pics are pulled by people who live locally around you as well as your friends list for better chances on the Wonder pick quit randomly choosing cards and choose from the same spot every time why double down on the RNG.
Can you explain more about the vibration? I tried swiping all cards in the carousle and none of them made a any vibration Also By volume do you mean the background music in the game in settings right.
Im convinced once you have a decent collection going on, the game is coded to give you cards you dont have in your collection. There IS a loading animation after you select the card which makes me think it's calculating what to give you. If there's onw card in the pick that you dont have then i believe its MUCH more likely to give you that card than the others. The reason it may feel "rigged" or 100% random to some is that they are using the system with a half empty dex. Ive found since early game ive been getting virtually everything i wanted, granted i only select picks that can grant me a card i havent registered.
You need to unplug your internet CABLE while in wifi when you click it. Airplane mode only goes so far. A direct cut off cant be predicted by software. Its timing. I used to hack game servers and this was a good way around thing like that
Yup. Always pick the same spot. The one you want is bound to be there eventually, and it saves you the mental anguish of "aww I should've picked that one" if you simply always pick the same one.

The reason is to follow on from the wave of people saying "bent packs" improved the offering rates in packs. This video was purely made for curiosity to see is Wonder Pick if also determined earlier than the actual selection animation, but seems it is not, unlike pack ripping.
I have been testing this as well and... I believe it's a chance out of 5 cards, with the lowest chance of picking being determined based on the Pack rarity. I.e: Gold crown Mewtwo EX having a 5% chance of being in your pack as an example. So, if you're doing a Wonder pick with a Mewtwo EX gold crown, it's a 5% chance of being the card you choose.
ALL PICKS ARE DETERMINED AS SOON AS YOU CLICK THE BUTTON LMAO ALL ANIMATIONS ARE A VISUAL NOVELTY. VETERAN GACHA PLAYERS HAVE PROVEN THIS OVER 10+ YEARS ACROSS A THOUSAND GAMES. Yall so fucking funny though. The only game ive EVER seen that had cool pull animations was 7 deadly sins, melodious vs the monster played out differently depending on what you got and that was cool.
It’s obviously predetermined. There is no way the odds always leave you getting the worst card in the batch. The whole game is rigged and doesn’t use any RNG. It is designed to force you to spend money and that will be the downfall of this game.
Incidentally this means if you made a mistake "starting" a wonder pick, you can close the game and it won't count the stamina as used.
This is more interesting than the stupidity of the pack choice lol

I notice that too. Some picks choose the same spot! I sometimes go for that spot or my fave bottom right corner
I've had an odd experience where I've picked the middle card four times, and I've got the EX every time. And this was on different days. 🤔
Can you go airplane mode to see the shuffle of the cards and pick again? Is the shuffle always the same?
Tried it and it didn't work. Will error.
Ah yes the illusion of chooses
Before the latest updates, you could actually see and pick the card from wonder pick 80% of the time... Now is impossible to see how the cards get shuffled... Wonder pick is now crap
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter because it has a 1/5 chance of being any of the choices anyway
I am wondering if footage of it would unveil any patterns in the z layering of cards as they combine and spread out in the animations or not..
I just pulled an Charizard EX, told my friend to look out for the wonder pick, he sent me a screenshot of a garbage pack I didn’t even pull.
Wonder pick doesn't always show the latest pack,
I honestly don’t know with the wonder picks. I used to get everything I want from EX to Full arts, then I went like a week straight not getting anything 😂
Bro your thought process is up there with einstein for this pokemon stuff lol. I never even thought about that until this video. Great job 👏🏽
I'm standing on the shoulders of giants
Theres something weird with the wonder pick, I’ve noticed a pattern where the cards that I want are either in the middle or down to the left and never the other spots. Its definitely not rigged since I pulled a 2 stars zapdos ex but I think it’s pre determined like the packs.
Either way whether you pick or not it's 1/5 even if you pick the same position every time it's still just as random
I understand what you mean. You can in a way simulate the "just give it to me" by from now on choosing the same spot and never change.
@dimasreidz48 With our current knowledge, that will statistically give you the best odds at getting good cards.
@dimasreidz48
This is what I have been doing. Bottom right every time.
@@johnkiggs108Simultaneously it gives the worst odds because no matter what you do you have the same odds.
I’ve missed Venusaur EX 4 times now 😢
To make it short: Randomize, just like how hard it is to obtain a shiny legendary pokemon in gambling.
i assumed it was mario party rules where yeah the dice spins but it’s just random
How about getting 9 consecutive tails with Moltres ex!
You can try and check with your friends if you get the same cards from another friends pack
Thank you
Someone tried this on Reddit and got different cards.
@TheCackling I saw some posts like that but there wasn't enough information. If you can link me a post with enough proof/evidence that would help.
The other way arround could be true as well
wouldnt this mean that the card you select is calculated 1/5 only after you "make a choice"
thus no matter which card you tap on, the chance will be rolled between the 5 cards anyways? thus not mattering which one I pick since nothing is coded into the cards on the card selection screen yet and thats why it gave you an internet error
It could very well be. Hence I said it doesn't disprove it's predetermined, but I also didnt say it prove that it isnt predetermined...
If it is determined when you pick the card then it doesn't matter which card you pick it will always give you the same result, right?
If that's the case then yes
I dont even really pick the card in WP, I just turn my phone away from my face and slap the screen, it works better than any time I picked XD
When you click on wonder pick, it literally says 1/5 chance. If it were not truly random, they would have a fat lawsuit on their hands.
Is quite a powerfull psychological trick if you are unaware, like most people
I'm not saying the Wonder Pick works like that because we don't have yet a sure fire way to check the generation moment, but if the "shuffled cards" were just for show and your card was actually generated the moment you tap, it wouldn't be illegal nor rare
@@eduardosolistinoco9698wonder pick definitely feels like playing slots. 🎰 i usually stick with one spot, bottom right corner, the middle or top left corner, and occasionally the bottom left corner or choose where the cards actually sit.
@@MrCowboy6588 maybe im misunderstanding, but any sort of predetermined choice, would be a problem. Per your example: if there is a full art and a squirtle (i dont have), if when i pick they determine that i get squirtle because i dont have it, that would not be 1/5 chance. IF it picks with a 1/5 chance when i select the batch, there is no problem regardless of animation.
@@eduardosolistinoco9698 i 100% agree about animations, i think they are an illusion of chance to get you to keep playing. Disregarding animations completely, I just care more about the actually odds. Like someone mentioned, if they manipulate it to give you specific cards based on what you previously own, that would not be true randomness. That's all im wondering, but as you have stated no one can definitely determine it yet.
I mean maybe wonder pick is like when you first start but I did get lucky 4 times Ina. Row once but interesting. Might be a bit hard to fully know if it is
I can assure you that wonder pick is real because I’ve gotten really good at picking what I want.
how, show us how
@ keep your eye on the birdie
does the the thing with taking a vid of the animation and rewatch it but slowed down to know what card is where work? dont think so right? unless i did it wrong
Lol bless your heart
Just like life. Choice is only an illusion.
ok so i can be mad at myself for getting it wrong
Now I’m wondering for the main pack picks. If it’s determined the second you choose to open a pack, does the time of day or exact time within a given hour have any effect on possible pulls?
thats a good theory!
That depends on when the game generates the seed used to calculate everything RNG related. It could generate it when you open the game, or regenerate it every time you make some specific actions. It could even be tied to your user ID.
They are bound by law to disclose the EXACT pull rates. If there were hidden effects we would know.
I don’t fully understand it though)
Game RNG is truly a fascinating subject as many games handle it differently, some more exploitable than others which is how we get RNG manipulation in speedruns
If you ever rerolled you know that wonderpick is predetirmined for you to get 1 full art basic pokemon
No metter what of the 5 card you choose
And the non basic will just took a random spot on the other 4 card
So i feel like the rng or the data is sent the moment you tap 1 random card
And yeah. When it is shown face down all the card is basically still empty spaces
And after your pick is revealed then the rest of the card is loaded into the rest of the slot 😂
Thats also true for the first pack of cards you draw so we believe the first WP and pack are under different deterministic factors which we ignore.
@Bropenings I believe the game roll the rng the moment u pick 1 card and then load the rest of the card in the left over slot
Reroll is always basic because the game gives u a guarenteed roll on your first pick
So in the end the choosing is also an illusion
Is Open 10packs or 10 x 1 solo pack better?
Not much difference afaik
I started to pick up at the same spot of the card i want and for me works wonders. Maybe I'm just lucky but i find more consistency
well, picking the same spot (regardless if it is of the card or not), assuming your choice matters, kinda normalizes your RNG to 20% faster. If you pick a random spot everytime, there is a chance you make things worse for you on a low sample size.
i saw some people saying you can record the screen to watch the animation shuffle to see where the desired card goes, but i have no idea if that works
why are are my friends wonder picks not cards they actually got in a pack… i will screen shot my friends wonder pick he will go to recents and that combination of cards is nowhere to be found. i dont think they are actually packs your friends opened
I believe they are, but they may not be syncing the latest packs they opened (could've been an earlier opened pack)
@ okay yeah so i think youre right because i was seeing my brothers wonder picks like 12 hours after he opened the pack
Friend wonder pick selection seems rigged though.
A friend pulled three 2star, two 1star, and four regular Ex while opening 20 packs, which was pretty good. The wonder picks only showed me the trash packs. They bottleneck what they will show you.
It could just be a random choice. No solid evidence to show how WP chooses what's available
Anyone know if usernames are... Unique? Or can there be duplicates?
there can be duplicates
I'm genuinely surprised nobody has tried muting their volume scrolling through the packs and feeling the vibration I have pulled five ex cards and I have less than 200 total cards already from doing this.
When scrolling through the packs one of them is going to vibrate harder than the others You need to scroll back to the pack you just scrolled off of not the one you went to has given me much much higher odds
And Wonder pics are pulled by people who live locally around you as well as your friends list for better chances on the Wonder pick quit randomly choosing cards and choose from the same spot every time why double down on the RNG.
Can you explain more about the vibration? I tried swiping all cards in the carousle and none of them made a any vibration
Also By volume do you mean the background music in the game in settings right.
I was literally thinking this same thing too.
Holy fuck dude, are coin flips pre determined or not actually 50/50 at this point?!?!?!?
Congrats on the Helix Fossil pull!
ive never gotten a siingle ccool card from it
You need to unplug your internet CABLE while in wifi when you click it. Airplane mode only goes so far. A direct cut off cant be predicted by software. Its timing. I used to hack game servers and this was a good way around thing like that
Exactly. These pokemon creators are dumb af
I have picked the same spot the card is since day 1 and i got alot of cards i wanted
I use this method as well
Yup. Always pick the same spot. The one you want is bound to be there eventually, and it saves you the mental anguish of "aww I should've picked that one" if you simply always pick the same one.
Wonder is all random and luck 🤞🏻.
It’s not random. If it was random you’d be able to get a good card from them. It is designed to make sure you only ever pull the worst card in the lot.
@@ayjay579 Just be luckier ig
@@ayjay579someone's being unlucky, huh? A friend of mine almost always gets the highest rarity card. He's pulled Charizard ex, Mewtwo ex, artícuno ex, full art Alakazam, full art Blastoise and full art Gengar, all from wonder pick
@@ayjay579 You are trippin sir. I've gotten 4 EX's from wonderpick, support cards I specifically targeted in wonderpick as I wasn't open the boosters for them. I think you just are very very unlucky my brotha.
@@ayjay579
Lmao cope harder.
Ive gotten good and bad cards all the same. It isnt rigged against you.
I got lucky, pull 4 ex from wonder pack
Whoever created us certainly didn't choose the middle card for this boy's mustache.
Strict to the point, thanks 😌👌c
Anyone who cares whether their choice effects what card they get is confused about randomness.
Whatever superstitions or feeling you gave about which card to pick is wrong.
The reason is to follow on from the wave of people saying "bent packs" improved the offering rates in packs. This video was purely made for curiosity to see is Wonder Pick if also determined earlier than the actual selection animation, but seems it is not, unlike pack ripping.
I notice the 1 energy picks is usually where the card starts. So helix was bottom right and you picked bottom right and got it
My mans you are such a G.
Oh I havent been told that before. Thanks
Your predetermined buddy
As all things in the universe are
It's not pre-determined but it also NOT 1/5. I mean that the chances varies by the rarity of the cards.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary (non-anecdotal) evidence
Completely wrong. It says the odds are 1/5 on the wonder pick screen right before the stamina is spent.
@@connerblah We wish. That's what they make you think.
Damnit (still suss on wonder pick though)
There is A LOT of cope in the comments today
I have been testing this as well and... I believe it's a chance out of 5 cards, with the lowest chance of picking being determined based on the Pack rarity. I.e: Gold crown Mewtwo EX having a 5% chance of being in your pack as an example. So, if you're doing a Wonder pick with a Mewtwo EX gold crown, it's a 5% chance of being the card you choose.
except picks with crown rares dont exist... its up to 2 stars
Real or cake?
Only one way to find out
Fake
ALL PICKS ARE DETERMINED AS SOON AS YOU CLICK THE BUTTON LMAO ALL ANIMATIONS ARE A VISUAL NOVELTY. VETERAN GACHA PLAYERS HAVE PROVEN THIS OVER 10+ YEARS ACROSS A THOUSAND GAMES. Yall so fucking funny though.
The only game ive EVER seen that had cool pull animations was 7 deadly sins, melodious vs the monster played out differently depending on what you got and that was cool.
Good work
im the 666 like. #illuminati confirmed
It’s obviously predetermined. There is no way the odds always leave you getting the worst card in the batch. The whole game is rigged and doesn’t use any RNG. It is designed to force you to spend money and that will be the downfall of this game.
Idk, for me wonderpick result in a favourble result more often than not
He literally got the one card he still needed in the video.
I got 2 ex card from wonder pick
I don't get what I want -> It's rigged
Is crazyyy 😂
The only thing in the game that's rigged is the booster packs and coin flips you have a 75% chance of landing tails and 25% chance to land heads
pvp online is rigged too, from the coin to the opponent deck and hand draw.
