Thank you. I’m gathering parts for my 67 t5 swap and appreciate your info.😎👍
No problem, let me know if you have questions
I remember going through something similar years ago when I put a T5 in my wagon. Good tip for those about to do the same thing.
If even one guy is searching around and finds this and saves himself some hours and $, I will consider it a victory
you know I'll be back for this one 😉

@@RiggsGarage Im planning on swapping my 89 mustang 2.3 liter from an A4ld to a T-5. Is it possible to use the same crossmember from the A4ld or would I have to use the crossmember from the T5? The A4ld crossmember sets farther back than the T5 and the bushings are shorter apparently and there 1 hole in the center of the crossmember. The exhaust hanger mount bolts into the same mount.
this is how I installed a Tremec 5spd in my 1965 289 Mustang using all the original clutch pedal and clutch linkage assemble including the 1965 throwout bearing arm and throwout bearing. Take a 1965 Bell housing and drill out the two fulcrum mounting rivets. index using the four transmission mounting holes a template, plexiglass is good. Drill the two 1965 fulcrum holes. Take your template and bolt t to your new 5sdg bell housing. drill the two fulcrum holes and counter sink them. . Take out the cable pitot arm. As you stated the imput shafts are different. Between a top loader and a Tremec, 5/8th of an inch longer Tremec. So I machined aluminum bar stock 5/8th of an inch thick and made a spacer to move the 1965 fulcrum forward in the 5 spd bell housing and bolted it down with grade 8 fine thread bolts and metal locking nuts. That is it, no cables, no hydraulics. So the money I saved not going hydraulic or cable went to a aluminium drive shaft. I also used a diaphragm 10 1/2 inch clutch. So I used the solid input shaft bearing, 1965 throwout bearing, 1965 throw out bearing arm. The conversion cost me less than $20 less the machine shop, which was free for me, we had a Bridge Port. And I would never go back to a toploader, never. I have had this in my car 35 years. I also have a very cool front suspension modification using all For OEM parts that does the Shelby drop, but when I finished the car is almost level. It does sit low like the normal modification. This allows for no rolling fenders and bigger tires. And it only requires one shim per upper control arm bolt.
Now that's hot running there! Ingenuity and low cost. Very interested in your suspension, I am going to do the Shelby drop as well. Great comment, I love to see stuff like this
Love stuff like this!
I just went through this wished I would have watched your video before hand thanks anyway😅
Yep haha I got to install the transmission twice too 😵💫
Can you provide the part number for the hydraulic/cable pressure plate and does it have to be bought from American driveline. Can I just get the 85-93 5.0 Mustang pressure plate from a parts store?
Here's the part number I ordered from modern driveline MD-O7-14C
I talked with him on the phone and told them my set up and they gave me that part number and I ordered it. I was tired of going to the parts store and getting the wrong things, and paying a little extra for their expertise saved me from having to remove the transmission again. You could probably get the right pressure plate from the parts store
Great content. Keep it coming
Thanks Mitch. I'm imagining a wagon cruise video?
I also installed the wrong pressure plate and it "clicks" makes an awful noise.
I responded to your other comment, hopefully that steers you in the right direction!
Can you do a 2005 t5 and a93 5.0 motor
Yep
I did a simple cable clutch
Same
What cable did you use?
Is the T5 weaker than the Tr3650?
As far as I can tell yes. 3650 has a higher torque rating
What's up man is there anyway I can get in touch with you?
Message me on Instagram if you'd like
Dude looks like Earnhardt Junior
Thanks haha??
At least the second time around you do the install faster. 😅
Much faster 🙄🙄🙄😂
Damm man I made the same mistake
Pretty big pain when you don't have a lift so you get to do the job twice lol
Can I use a 3.8 bellhousing on a t5 wc?
99% sure no. 3.8 bolts up but it's made for a different flywheel so starter won't work
Actually, yes you can. I made it work with mine by using 3 Ford 2 bolt starter shims and I mounted the starter using studs instead of bolts to make it easier to install. The starter engages nicely now. 👍
Also with the flywheel, I used a late 80's f150 flywheel drilled for 10.5 or 11" clutches. I used an 11" clutch. The flywheel is a 50oz imbalance because I'm running an 88 5.0
@@austinwebster3531 there's that 1%, I was wrong. That sounds like great problem solving!
@@austinwebster3531 Can you share more details? I'm close to your set up, I have T5-3.8 from a 95 Mustang, and a 5.0 H.O. engine from a 94. Why did you use a flywheel from a F150? Will any of those two clutch sizes work? I'm also confused about the shims you used, how many on each bolt are needed? This info will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
What brand of underwear is that?
Haynes I think? Whatever wally china world sells
@@RiggsGarage struck me more of a fruit of the loom guy
What would be helpful is if we all knew what car he was working on 😂
It's a 1970 Mustang
However, it doesn't really matter, what matters is the engine and transmission. Those determine what flywheel and pressure plate you have to use, otherwise this combo fits in anything you want to put it in honestly
