To be honest for me it looked like you were struggling a little bit with this guitar. These pickups didn't sound right for some strange reason. Still, love this song thou :)
Florian Karim I saw his fav music man headstock in the background, but it sure as hell seems like it. I think that was a signature model it had his signature on the body above the pickups.5
I wouldn't take this as the best example. It's just a NAMM performance playing to a backing track. Listen to the original. This song is about expression, and not about demonstration. It's about giving space to the notes, because each of them matters. And David is genious at this.
It doesn't feel the same way when you listen to the whole album. You will understand the emotions better. But if you are into more progressive playing, then it's alright :)
He is flat-out my favorite artist ever live. I'll see him every single time he comes to Colorado. His instrument (particularly his wood guerilla) is an extension of his body and he completely commands it. The dude is incredible- don't judge based off a single RUclips video of him playing a strandberg that doesn't seem to tonally jive.
This guy! He's a killer composer. Nothing dull about him what so ever.
Simon groove
Love Nick Johnston creeping.
Simon G seems to be on every video I like these days. DMM, Plini & Co need to find a way to clone him some day.
They did now, lol
they did, in the form of a Neural DSP patch
love that Dingwall ,
wish I had that Dingwall
The new NG3. I have a Combustion that I love, but I'm really digging the NG3.
First time I see David playing a 7-string guitar. Great performance!
Raül Gullón though you definitely don't need that tuning for this composition.
Not a good performance on my end tbh :D that Strandy was pretty cool tho :)
Are you kidding? It was brilliant!
Small improvising here and there makes your live tasty, David!!
To be honest for me it looked like you were struggling a little bit with this guitar. These pickups didn't sound right for some strange reason. Still, love this song thou :)
Such a beautiful compostion. Simplistic yet hard to forget.
Of course it's hard to forget, it's the same melody for 5 minutes straight
@@xdeathmetalbassistx Sometimes that's all you need.
So soothing. Thank you.
Rodo Wien
If you are playing a strandberg guitar you better have Simon on bass.
Damn those fishmans sound like heaven!
Nick Johnson spotted
Johns't'on
Simon's really doin the flat top bop there
Who bit the moon!!! Sound track for our planet!!

I love this song Thanks david
What a fucking awesome song , wow
That chord at 3-28 & 3-41 sounds so meaningful
Who dislikes this? It's euphoric!

Gotta love those Fishman Fluences.
At 0:59 you can see the person Nick Johnston is talking to is none other than Plini :)
Collect the good, collect the good, collect the good
I love Micic and Simon Grove and Plini. But Dunlop... 0:04 y u no post video of Yvette?
Is that Nick Johnston in the corner, at 3:10???
He was there earlier in the video too
Micic is a god
Micic!!!
good
So unique
reminds me of old school Joe satch
why dont he use a loop for the main riff?
If he used loop he wouldn't hv anything left to play.
Don't take it otherwise, he's a great composer
nice
Omg
3:18 wow
What’s the name of this song?
0:59 Is that Nick Johnston?

Does anyone know how is 7 string tuned ?
Jakub Vaňous I believe it is tuned to A open
Ab precisely
I know his 6-string is tuned Ab Eb Ab Eb Ab Bb, but I'm not sure how he adapts that tuning to a 7 string.
Standard tuning for a seven string would be BEADGbe. So it’s he same as a six string but with an extra low B string.
How exactly would you tune that Ab Eb Ab Eb Ab Bb tuning though? Is it like a low Ab, then an octave up, then another octave up on the third Ab?
👍🏼
No rip. Why.
Does anyone have the song name?

Rattlehead thank you
Is David using Strandberg guitars now?
Florian Karim I saw his fav music man headstock in the background, but it sure as hell seems like it. I think that was a signature model it had his signature on the body above the pickups.5
He usually use his Woodguerilla guitars. but also use Fender, Music man and Strandberg on some tunes.

What band it is?
David Maxim is a solo guitar player
Guthrie plays this when he’s half awake
jp jp yes?
lol I understand
Don’t get me wrong, David can shred, but I think his style of music caters more towards the beat than technicality.
@@ryansadauskis For sure. He's an excellent composer, just not a shred-style of composition.
Clean up a bit if you're going to NAMM holy hell
@@hibernative Focusing on your looks is different then not looking homeless at a premiere guitar festival
shit sound,David,sorry((fractal sound is better
So boring. He keeps on playing the same thing a number of times in a song
David can surely shred (see Epiphany's solo), but he chose this soulful music style, which I once thought was boring but now starting to admire :)
this songs great. find your soul dude
if you think this is boring, you'd probly like "animals as leaders"

David maxim micic is a bedroom guitarist, he's good on compose but real bad on live performance and I understand it
Might have to do with he fact he is playing a borrowed guitar
Disagree whole heartedly.
But he isn't, so I guess there isn't anything to understand.
Obviously you havent taken the time to see him live. Until then your comment is invalid. As many others agree on this one with me
