The still image that viewers see says "FULLY RENEWABLE PACKAGING MATERIALS" next to a Tetrapak carton. But the video does not feature ANY renewable packaging materials at all. This is misleading.

I was wondering the same, how is this package renewable? They don't explain this.

Thanks for your question! All Tetra Pak cartons can be recyled. There are technologies available to separate the packaging materials (paper, plastic and aluminium). The paper fibres are used for different grades of paper products. The plastic and aluminium are most often used as a mix material (polyAl) in many different types of products made out of plastic. You can find out more about the recycling process here: bit.ly/3vcnIfw

@@tetrapak I haven't even seen how you recycle your packaging, but I guess that it's most likely a very complicated procedure, which means that almost no one has access to recycle your products. I don't know if I'm right, but that would just be the most logical guess in my opinion.

've got a question concerning Tetra Brik® Aseptic package. Does milk placed into this container (i.e. box) touch the inner side of the polyethylene screw cap? It's HeliCap™ 23 if I'm not mistaken. Or probably there must be a layer of some material that prevents milk from touching the inner side if this cap? The white plastic of the cap can't prevent light from penetrating into the box and spoiling the contents. How is this problem solved by your company? It’s very important. It’s a safety concern. Could you give links to some videos concerning the screw cap protection?

Hello I’m curious about the physics of how you can shake the unopened package (for example a chocolate protein shake) and when you take the lid off there is no liquid under the cap. Now that the seal is broken replace the cap shake again and remove cap there is liquid underneath? Talk nerdy to me!

Hi! Thank you for your question! This is how it works: there is a lamination layer between the product inside and the cap before package is opened. Once the opening mechanism cuts through the layer, the product inside then can contact the cap.
Here's a video that explains the opening mechanism of one of our openings, HeliCap 23:

    Can Tetrapak be recycled?
I read that it is not.
Tetrapaks are made from 70 to 90% paperboard which is recyclable just like any other paper or card. The reason that Tetrapak cartons cannot be included with our normal paper recycling is the aluminium foil liner and polyethylene cap included with the carton.

I tried to find out more. Was led to non existent pages or redirected to local council to find out about waste collection. Bruce Gadsden was already having heart trouble with waxed cartons. I don’t think there is any recycling of Tetra Pak or the company would be flaunting it just as it did when a prototype was tried of boiling the waste material until it separated out at huge energy expense.

Here is how recycling machine for tetrapack looks like ruclips.net/video/8RALULvgapI/видео.html so as u guess it needs to be done in special expensive facility for tetrapack recycling. Also if u recycle, box shouldn't be flattered. From my point of view the recycling is so complicated and there is so low acces to tetrapack collecting points in the world (asia especially) that its just another material thats gonna end up in the sea for a hundreds of years.

For example in partnership with German recycling company Palurec, we are combining our expertise to advance polymer recycling technologies and extrusion pelletizing. The goal of this initiative is to obtain a polymer recycling capacity of 18,000 tonnes per year which covers a large portion of the polymers from cartons in Germany.
