A product perfectly designed for its job with 0 thought given to EOL. Reminds me of that blight known as k-cups. No amount of marketing or unused "recycling" programs make this a sustainable product. However, you may want to discuss their "bio" version in your next video.

But isn't that because the consumers are not doing their part? This is a problem every company faces and they just can't force people to recycle.

@@Sivah_Akash You can't recycle when facilities don't exist. Like many towns today, we can only recycle 1,2,5 plastics, metal, glass, and cardboard. Container companies love blaming people so they don't have to take any responsibility. We've seen it many times (just look at Coke's recent statement).

@@FrankLeeMadeere, oh thanks. That makes sense.
But Tetra Pak is not as big as Coke to build a plant in every city, right? Or did I get you wrong?

@@Sivah_Akash No but they can improve their product and improve recycling collection and efficacy.

Tetra Pak is certainly not claiming their product to be sustainable at this point and yes, it would be interesting to make a video on the Tetra Rex carton.

Echoing and expanding on the comment [en Francais] from @Clément Bourdens and its response by Alex, I agree with both of them...
Yes, Clément, unlike other videos of @Sustainability Illustrated, this one matches plenty of the PR from Tetra without offering much of a critical analysis. For example, the recycling issue is mostly swept under the rug (no pun intended), since
    a) globally only ~ 26% of the terapak containers are recycled, with little prospect for improvement. This is mainly by lack of programs/communtiies which will take them, understandingly because ...
    b) only the cardboard fiber gets recycled. While this gets relatively easily separated from the rest, the polyaluminum compound, is -at best- included in single use object, and rather rarely at that.
Yes, Alex, Tera pak packaging has many advantages, particularly some not found with glass such as its ability to extend the shelf life of many products and your video suggest rightfully that we ought to NOT use Tera [or any other disposable container for that matter] for water, since we can use one's own reusable containers.
Keep up the good work, Alex. I'm new to this channel but getting addicted ;-) ' find you on Patreon soon, I'm sure.

Hi Marc, thanks for your feedback. Please note that this video does not focus on recycling because there is another video dedicated to recycling Tetra Pak cartons ruclips.net/video/W5Yavzu_e4g/видео.html
