The Most Mysterious English Voice Actor In Honkai Star Rail

- This voice actor in Honkai Star Rail is incredibly mysterious. Can you guess the character? That's right, it's Bronya. Although her name (Madeline Reiter) is listed, there's no information available about her if you search "Madeline Reiter HSR" or "Madeline Reiter Honkai Star Rail". She has no social media or public contact information. In a video where RUclipsr Mina Aoyama collaborated with Seele's voice actor (Molly Zhang), it was revealed that Madeline Reiter, the voice behind Bronya, is an enigma even to her fellow voice actors. Her name is actually a pseudonym, not her real name. Bronya's role is Reiter's debut in voice acting.

Considering the fact that nearly every VA in Hoyoverse games keeps getting attacked, it's understandable that she hides everything about herself.
Perhaps that's true, but if she doesn't care and doesn't engage with the drama, then it can be avoided.
@@Darkos88 i mean its also sad cause she could have so much fun witht the other va and make jokes with seele va. but if its for her safety then it cant be avoid
Yeah it's the safest move she can make but I wish people could just grow up and stop attacking Voice actors for their role
dunno if this is true, however I think hoyo really wanted to keep the chinese tradition about Bronya being voiced by Hanser, who also never shows her face
@@Darkos88 literally no, people will start hating and try to cancel vas everyday for no damn reasons so its better that she keeps herself hidden from the public
walks in, voices bronya, gets paid, leaves.
chad move.
that definately is a Bronya move
tbh, I can’t really blame her… whenever hoyo fans dislike a character, they hate on the va for some reason. id hide my identity too if i was her
@af1ya_0 especially with bronya. Bronta is a honkai character that usually has the same voice actor in every game. A new one would understandably get unnecessary backlash turned towards her
@Kirem you do realize Hi3 has no eng VAs. Right?
Its funny when people say theres a tradition for keeping the same VA when it comes to EN. Bro, what tradition? There is literally only Genshin and Star Rail; one game is not a tradition.
@therealestsparkle On the topic of bronya, I still saw people complaining for some reason. Even for english which was confusing.
Unneccesary backlash... This happened for Allegra Clark (She voiced Acheron and not Raiden Shogun and got flamed for it)
Don’t blame the voice actor for wanting to keep her life private. Hoyo community is fucking crazy
Aren't every gacha based fandoms the same?
Fair point but you have to admit hoyoverse community is on a whole other level of crazy.
@@achrafeamensague318 some shippers, yuri/yaoi fetishists and rabid self-inserters(from all groups) are bulk of the problem, they’re almost always “unstable” ones, the pattern is very much noticeable on Hoyolab/Twitter/Reddit etc.
Tbh I stay away from the community a lot. Rarely I will look at it.
@@achrafeamensague318 That's true but Hoyo fandoms in particular are notorius for sending death threats to the VAs
In my personal opinion, hiding from social networks is a good thing because it helps us avoid drama and other problems, especially when there's a lot of drama happening on twitter right now
That's the positive thing but the downside is people don't know her, so it will affect her work as VA.
@@Darkos88it won’t really. Have recorded proof of your voice work as Bronya, and slap that accolade on your resume and that’s all you need. The downside is a nonissue that can be solved relatively easily
Wait, what happened exactly in Twitter?
@@kokushibu1859 mina aoyama said some shit concerning the firefly trailer
@@kokushibu1859Twitter/X is absolute trash where they harass va's a lot, they also just harass anyone they want and ship little anime boys together constantly.
Seems to me that this is also her first time voice acting as well, so they chose her as Bronya, And I think she's doing a very good job on keeping her name out of the media, If I was the voice actor I would do the exact same, to keep yourself out of the media to avoid any drama, she's doing something right.
Or maybe she's just an introvert? In my opinion, not having information like this will make her job as a VA difficult because she will be less known to the media, but on the positive side, she can avoid all the drama.
@@Darkos88 anonymity should be everyones priority considering what a battlefield the internet and especially social media is. She shouldn't have to be put to risk for some senseless drama over fictional works just cus the media gets mad like it does every other day
@@swab7572the point is that staying hidden like this would make her casted less in voice acting jobs, obvs its her choice maybe she doesnt want any more casting or something but that's basically what they meant. you could avoid drama while having a social media presence by just being mature and not engaging it
Yeah, I agree privacy is a priority, and I really appreciate that. The internet can be harsh if we're not prepared for it. However, all of that can be avoided if you have a mentality of "not caring about what other people say" like McGregor.
@@Darkos88 wait until you see how JP artist live their days, some of them often use stage/pen name, and goes to public they always wear face mask just to stay incognito
So she's just a professional who doesn't want to put her private life out there? A commendable woman.
She's literally the real Bronya Rand. She has more important stuff to do than get into social media bull
I guess she probably saw the drama and harrassment some of the other VAs got (In Star Rail, Genshin, and other platforms) online and she wants none of it.
I heard Signora's English VA did the same thing.
Maybe that's true, but in my opinion, the drama could have been avoided by not engaging with it, and she could still be in social because she surely has fans who want to follow her.
@@Darkos88she probably already rich and a CEO of sonething and doing this is kinda thing is like a hobby? Im speculating
Or she just want a peace life...
@@Darkos88 I bet, She might rather have none of that than having fan interactions, I mean living a quiet life able to do what you want without anyone eye-ing on you is more likely a right choice since its less stressful

@@belgiumwaffle wait, Signora's VA is also anonymous?
@@tizianomontiel610 as far as I know there's no confirmed information about, only speculations on who it is
@@tizianomontiel610I’m late, but Paimon’s VA said Signora’s EN VA wanted to remain anonymous.
I dont think it has regards to being smart, its their personal choice at the end to be anonymous. But I could be wrong, maybe she privated just to avoid drama which is 100% understandable and smart
Ngl she is kinda right tho
She can drama harrasment death threats and other problem that comes with the VA job
This is probably one of the reasons why few people mention Bronya's VA, partly because she hides herself from the internet so no one knows anything about her, and also because no one knows about her, if Bronya has any problems, no one can curse her because no one knows who she is on social networks
This can be considered one of the mysteries of Honkai Star Rail
Indeed, this is one of the BIGGEST mysteries of Honkai Star Rail!
Thats a Galaxy Brain move Imo
CREEPYPASTA IN HSR? THATS DOPE
Maybe she's someone important irl, similar to HI3rd bronya whose a company CEO but also has a lot of other hobbies and people can't believe she's the same person keeping many aliases. Honkai directors are fond of picking people with similar nature to their characters.
@@Reialine so you're saying that the real EN Bronya VA is Dawei?
That's her debut?? She did a great job ngl tho imagine if she wasn't anonymous? Imagine the chaos when the VA’s sing the 3.0 music video or smth lol
My guess is it's not really here debut just didn't want to be credited
MILK WAY COOKIE IS THAT YOU?!
Bronya’s VA did the smart thing. After all that drama and harassment some VAs go through I wouldn’t want to deal with that either.
what is very unfortunate is that Japanese va don't do the same thing because they can't hide their identity because their contract is not only to become va but to become "idol" for their fans, Last year Ishikawa Yui received many death threats
@@mikazukitunapanggang BRUH!!!!! I remember when that came out that’s the fucking scariest thing
@@AloyImpact Why do Japanese boomers always ignore their VAs? They should understand conditions like this
@@mikazukitunapanggang Well Yui Ishikawa is prone to that due that she's literally everywhere, I don't think I seen some case of so many animes and medias using the same VA in almost all media since Norio Wakamoto back in the 90s. And female seiyuus is srs bsns in japanese community media.
If this role was their debut why stay so anonymous
I think she's doing a good job though, she wants to keep herself anonymous just to avoid anything that she does not want to encounter such as fans or even drama, she might be somewhat antisocial, but who knows.
That is the reason why she is the most mysterious VA.
She is new and gacha games tend to have rowdy fans who get mad easily and get triggered over anything and everything
So my guess is she stayed anonymous so she can still get the role and become known in the industry while avoiding all the fans and the drama and problems they bring with them
@@JurisAngeles if that's truly the case though then why didn't the other voice actors go anonymous too? Aside from amalee and alejandro saab none of them seem like big names
@@videogamefanaticlordkh7526they probably didn't want to be like sparkle (idk if it was the char or va for being racist in one part??)
Honestly i respect her as for any other VA.
After learning about popularity from celebrities, i don't find the idea of being "Popular" fun anymore.
It also doesn't help when voice actors only get a description of the character with limited context. Prop to the voice actors who voice act characters before game reveal.
If this VA also gets casted as the Tsaritsa in Genshin and they’re still anonymous, honestly that’d be pretty based considering how many people would be obsessed with that character
@@TheDarKris is she the voice in Arlecchino's demo?
@@alctalks1487 From the tone, yep. That's definitely her.
Cocolia is Bronya's adoptive mother, they have different VAs
@@Vanity0666what’s that got to do with anything
For a debut role she is bloody fantastic! Feels like fighting with a comrade when she says “lend me your strength” and “TO GUARD AND DEFEND, CRUSH THEM!” Genuinely hope to hear more work from her in other projects in the future.
Not surprising. A lot of voice actors are actually reclusive or prefer under an alias. The most prominent name of a reclusive VA I can think of is Janice Kawaye.
Actually, stage names are normal for actors, but the difference is that she doesn't have any photos or social media, which makes her very mysterious 🤔.
@@Darkos88 Yeah, stage names aI'm well aware. But what I'm just saying that there's quite a few voice actors who are quite reclusive. Some of them even disappear off the face of the world.
Yea it’s most likely so the fans don’t go crazy and send death threats like they do others
English VA with no social media presence? I like her.
A genius move considering most Star Rail players are Genshin players whose infamous for attacking VAs
Gacha games in general attract the most mentally unstable people, not just the Genshin community
I mean before it someone threatened someone at Hoyo for a skin in HI3RD
I was pretty sure Bronya and Silver Wolf had the same VA (like the JP dub) when I started playing as they sounded similar to me. The fact that no one knows Bronya's VA and you can't track her down leads me to conclude that they are likely the same person and the named billed for Bronya is just a pseudonym for, plot reasons. At one point the Japanese VA was denying she voiced both (which is a heck of a thing to deny since HI3 players are VERY familiar with the sound of Bronnie and APHO versions of Bronya which is what star rail takes their inspirations from) so hoyo at one point did not want us knowing there were 2 Bronyas in the game.
Assume they are hiding it, but why do Asta and Hook have the same English voice actor and they are not hiding it?
No Silver Wolf's VA is Melissa Fahn. I think only JP have both Bronya and Silver Wolf having the same seiyuu.
@@Darkos88 well It's kinda obvious hook and Asta aren't the same character and that is just a case of double casting. I think SW +Bronya having the same VA in seret would be along the lines of Hoyo denying Acheron was Mei for quite some time despite us knowing that was a lie from the get go.
@@reizshfelonia6471 Yeah I know,. I'm saying that it is possible that Fann is Bronyas VA as well and Reiter is her Pseudonym and that is why no one can find info about Reiter and why the VA community keeps saying that it's a "stage name" etc. It's a fairly common billing practice for TV and theater when you don't want to spoil the plot with the cast list.
Its useless to hide silverwolf and bronya is variant since they literally look alike with that iconic drill hairstyle, and Hanser (silverwolf CN VA) is actually planned to voice adult bronya too but she's having a hard times voicing older character that's why she drop the role.
It's cool how she sounds like Silver Wolf. Makes them sound distinct but you're still able to tell they're basically the same character. They're both Bronya but from different universes (probably).
No they are sisters
I think this is not their debut. Keeping anonymous doesn't help their career. I think the VA just don't want to be associated with hoyo. So they use random name as Bronya VA and use their real/main name as their other work.
Its kinda no wonder that she is annynomous bcs of all the drama etc.
Maybe that's true, but won't this affect her work as a VA? And drama can be avoided if she don't care about it.
@@Darkos88 Oh man... You underestimated the idiocy of some social media users.
And apparently.. Just by staying quiet and act like you dont exist is considered as a "problem" for them. They will literally find a way to start a drama.
@@Darkos88 pretty sure this wont affect her work that much. She might be working with a talent agency that can get her more job offers from other projects. Besides, it's possible she's not going for a long-term VA career, maybe she's just doing this as a side job or hobby
Imagine being so anonymous that even other VAs don't know her...but honestly she's doing the right thing because how crazy and toxic the community can be
that's her debut as a voice actor? oh wow she's genuinely an amazing va
Well, it's her choice to not get harassed by fans, and it should be respected at the very least
Very appropriate background music for this mysterious VA.
Great considering how the community treats the voice actors
Ofc as debut because before HSR the only Bronya ever existed is on Hi3 which is only had japanese and Chinese VA
I can kinda see why she is so mysterious, with her first voice acting work as Bronya, who is the most controversal character and it was her first work so she might just dont wanna deal with all the drama
Facts. Acheron english VA got flack from the fanbase just because she wasn't the same VA as raiden ei.
@@garytaylor8193 Don't say that so casually. The VA explicitly had to say that there was no hate because of commenters like you.
I have a thought this is like Ethan Winters VA case. Unlike her though who completely anonymous, he just doesn't take any interview and living quite life.
If they have a bone to pick on Bronya’s VA then they would have to answer Seele’s scythe first
I mean, maybe a first major role? People do tend to be shy
Nah, if you know hoyo's community well, almost every VA have atleast been attacked once or more. Keeping her identity private is a great choice
Camden voicing Aventurine is his first major role as well and he does livestreams and is active in social media so
She could also be an introvert which isn’t bad. Maybe she doesn’t feel comfortable engaging with people. She probably doesn’t like being under the spotlight and rather have a private life.
Good for her, some people just dont like to share a lot of personal stuff about themselves
Its good in a part because she avoids dramas and people attacking her out.of nowhere, but i admid i would love her being in call with all the Other vas or making jokes with seeles va
Plot twist. The VA is a VTuber
You also have to consider that not everyone has a strong mental strength to withstand any insults or threats on a daily basis. This is probably for her own private sake as well.
And don't get started with the "this will hinder her career progression as a VA." Maybe also take into consideration that this is a side gig and not a long-term goal for the person. Probably has another main job in her life. Regardless, don't think of this as a wasted opportunity in this career for her. It's the VA's choice anyways.
Plus I don’t think it will effect her career to badly. She voiced a popular character in a popular gacha game. They at least know what she can do and her range. Frankly it’s kind of nice that she is a bit different: she doesn’t like showing her life publicly and she seems to be the type of girl that just does her job and moves on and doesn’t want to engage in drama
She made the right call. Mihoyo fans are mostly lack common sense to put it mildly, avoiding them alltogether is the right choice unless you're prepared
Smart woman. That way, jerks can’t go digging into your personal life to find ridiculous stuff to smear your good name over. Much less stressful to just take your paycheck and move on.
I've only heard of it but I haven't actually experienced it, but didn't Kokomi's EN VA? (Or was it CN VA?) get multiple death threats when she was released because people saw her kit and thought she was underwhelming?
I can see why some VAs would like to stay anonymous. It's probably for the best.
CN. But this isn't just a hoyo thing. This is a Fandom issue where people will harass VA's [solo leveling arise for example the VA got threatened by someone to 'not fk up the main line' and he clapped back.] Or how insane k-pop fans are for even wanting to remotely think about dating
Can't blame her, this community attacks anything that goes against their headcanons
Some of VAs do not want to share their social media acc mostly because they want to keep in privacy
Perhaps she is among us (no pun intended), perhaps she has her own account but didn't want to reveal it. Watching us from afar.
"You're sus! You're the VA!"
*votes you*
For all we know, you could be her on a secret account. I sus you.
It's me, guys. I'm the pain that comes with the blade.
"she could be anyone, it could be you, it could be me..."
The Aeon of Susness
She probably makes bank for it too. Keeping anonomous is really dang hard in any line of work that deals with this line of profession.
I was honestly surprised they gave Silver Wolf and Bronya different voice actors in the English version. That goes against the established lore lol
considering the kind of things people say to VAs on social media when they don't like a character it makes sense that she would hide herself. love bronya's voice tho whenever she's not buffing cocolia
With the explanation of the comment section, this is why our community is hated smh 🤦♂️
@@Tsirkon yeah, Star Rail's and Genshin's community are the worst especially twitter community 🤦♀️
Someone in Reddit said she could be AI 😅
She’s too life like to be AI. There would likely be some trace as to who the voice was taken from if it was AI.
how ridiculously disrespectful to her job
The Jarilo-VI and Xianzhou VAs were cast over three years ago (Craig Lee Thomas, Luocha's VA, said he had been waiting since 2021 to announce). That was long before the genAI wave, so it's definitely not AI.
Honestly would be terrifying if it's truth.
@@aeiounathey could use some sort of vocal synth program who knowssss 👀/j
Honestly,
Pretty badass. Even if folks wont know where this person will go or follow but its adds more interest to the VA and the voices she works on in future games.
I don't see a problem here. Just a person doing what they love.
Good choice, stay anonymous to avoid drama
She wants to be aeon of nihility but as a voice actor
When companies hire VAs they don't really know the context of your "social media fame" anyway, your portfolio/reel will take you way further in the VA industry than any kind of social media following you could potentially have.
she did amazing for a debut role omg i'm glad she keeps herself anon too given the way fans treat vas
I think Yanqing's VA also, I never saw any collaborations of the VA's that Yanging's VA was included
But she still have social media and she has been a voice actor for a long time. Not collaborating with other VAs doesn't make her mysterious because she might just be busy with her life.
Pretty sure she's done stuff with her Genshin cast mates. Not even VA likes to do the streamer stuff.
Yanqing Va is Dehya from Genshin. We know the Va, it’s Amber May
Actually, yanqing's va did appear once in molly (seele's va)'s streams. It was a gartic phone stream collab w some other hsr va
She actually did if I remember, It was the gartic phone stream and I think one of the among us genshin VAs streams
If first role and no socials, maybe a nepo baby? Like no dig at her, shes fine but idk maybe thats the circumstance.
Adds a bit of intrigue to the whole thing, tbh, but all seriousness, we gotta start somewhere, and good on her for debuting in such a big game. She did a great job, and I hope she get roles elsewhere, if she wants them.
for an first time va job she did an amazing work ngl, and her wish to keep off social media is the smartest thing to do as an va in a hoyo game lol
Good for her, it can be hard to separate yourself from media sometimes
Thats her DEBUT?? Wow!
Well that's perfectly understandable considering all the drama that's can happen on social media especially on Twitter.
Tbh I love when seiyuu like this anonymous. It comes back like old times voice actor in my country. And when you find out you'll really want they have their own program in TV or RUclips
We’ll probably stumble across her again sometime
Interestingly enough, iirc her Honkai 3rd Counterpart's CN VA, Hanser, is also a bit of an enigma. Shes a Vtuber so its not completely the same, but in live appearances like the Honkai Concert her face is usually covered.
Fun little coincidence there
Bronya’s VA’s is really respectable for that. Imagine doing your job and being attacked on social media over people not liking you’re character. Truly honorable for such a smart way to hide your identity.
Honestly I don't blame her, some people in hoyo community are.. interesting to say. Besides it's nobody's business, if she wants to be private let her be.
At this point I don't blame her
Even if there is nice people on the internet
It's too chaotic
Well, we can't really blame her. I mean, everyday is war on the internet, I literally get about 300+ notifs across multiple media platforms every single day, I get to experienced arguing with so many braindead people especially dramas. And also, everyone knows that hoyo's community has drama for just even a small thing.
Affirmation: what she did was a double-edged sword. She can avoid drama by this process but at the same time, since she's anonymous her achievement is less likely known and it would make it difficult for her to get more voice acting
I completely get why she’s anonymous, but I’d love it if she collabed with Molly Zhang (seele’s va) or the other hsr vas. She did so well as Bronya
The way how the community treated Genshin VAs? She did the right thing.
Everytime i hear miyas name i just think of her meltdown over firefly
Honestly I love Bronya's voice acting
Well, some voice actors prefer using their aliases.
To the people who ask why stay anynomus, when the toxic fans come after them IRL its better to stay anynomus.
Thats a good move from them actually. Stay away from social media is the key to happiness
It's good for her then. Sometimes ppl make va very angry and sad or make them say something for triggering more people on them. If she want be like this, I respect it.
the talent scouter must be in the deep fucking web to find Bronya's VA
bronya is her debut role as a voice actor? wow, that's so impressive! i really loved bronya's voice while playing through the belobog quest, i think she embodies the character so well
Based
Your private life has no reason to get mixed up with your job, that's true for everything, not just for hoyo games
Congrats to her on being completely anonymous in this day and age.
Why care so much about her presence online? The VA doesn't owe anything to anyone and if the VA decides she doesn't want to be present online and keep her life private, it is her decision and we need to respect it.
Most people actually applaud her for it.
well being annonymous in this field is great... since its about voicing talents and she probabaly wants to protect her privacy, as its way easier to get informations on other ppl
And somehow this makes me love Bronya even more.
Understandable, even Aleks Le (Luke from streets and P3 protagonist) had an alias for when he did his role of Anji in guilty gear strive
She is smart, she did her job and left, no drama no social media, just getting paid to work.
Very smart choice. Reminds me of Naoto's VA (from Persona 4/Golden) they replaced them eventually for some reason, but that VA was also very hidden.
So same as Chinese VA for Silver Wolf and Bronya in Honkai 3rd? She is anonymous (later vtuber) too.
She's done a great job voicing Bronya in HSR tho, but yeah some people can get nasty so I respect her decision
the smartest VA
Popularity shrinks your boundaries.
Assuming she's also Silver Wolf's VA, i think her stage name was already that way long before Star rail (example: she voiced Neptune from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series)
I feel like they should do this for everyone to keep them safe knowing the player bases history with voice actors
Honestly good for her, I’ve seen how most “fans” treat the English voice actors and I don’t blame her for doing that
With how unhinged the community can be, that is a reasonable choice.
It’s both COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE and kinda sad that she feels this way. She does such an incredible job as Bronya in the EN dub. The fact that this is her first VA role is impressive. I think besides doing it to protect herself, it’s also been said she just a very shy person and has issues with self confidence, so she tends to stay out of the limelight.
On the topic of mysterious voice actors, when I played the Penacony quest, the npc "Micah" had a very familiar sounding voice to me. Sounded like Aleks Le. Is there no information on the voice for this npc?
For me, I'm looking for the reverse. Zach Aguilar (VA of Aether from Genshin) mentioned during his latest Windtrace stream that he voiced an NPC in Star Rail, but he doesn't specifically know which one and I can't find traces of him being in it besides that.
I did notice she was missing from the hsr cast singing white night video. I was really curious why she didn’t take part in it but this explains it.
Considering that she is voicing in a gacha game and considering the gacha community she is absolutely based to have done that..!!! And HSR Bronya's EN voice acting is so good already she will get hired just based on that...!!!
