It’s so helpful when you explain the amounts of oz you divide when doing your molds. I’m so grateful for that because I’m very new to resin and I keep making up too much . I love your tutorials as they are informative and really enjoyable to watch. Thank you so much for sharing your artistry. Love from England 🇬🇧

Awesome!! I always pour from about a foot up with my clear resin. Try it. Makes a huge difference. Wow you use a lot of the gold flake. I don’t care for that large of a center. Makes it look odd in imo

I’m new to this so I’m all over the place watching different ppls channels. I’ve noticed a lot are UK so grams & mmls and the accents drive me nuts lol As soon as you said ounces I hit the thumbs up button and subscribed.
Beautiful work! I just purchased materials. I subscribed to your channel. How do glasses or cups stay without slipping off and do hot drinks hurt the coasters? Thank u
Thank you for the tutorial. They came out very pretty. Why do you spray alcohol on the top of the resin at the beginning of the process? What is it for?
So glad to have "discovered" you, Michelle...liked and subbed. 😊 VERY pretty colors and a great job of doming! I'll go to your other link - love resined counter tops! For a commenter below: @Anna Koehn Art Anna, the striations occur with mica in resin because of the tendency of resin to pull inwards to the center. Also, as the chemical exothermic reaction (curing) occurs, which creates even more pulling, the mica powders continue their journey to the center until the resin has stabilized and stopped moving inwards. Glitter on the outer edge will do the same (or anything else not nailed down). HTH?
Hi, the pen you used to color the border is a permanent color? Or how you seal that color? I am wondering is not going to fade out with the time 🤔 Also, thank you for the tutorial. I love it.
Hello, I love your videos, I just started this hobby, so I made many mistake when making coasters, like I took them out too early they are bended or have bubbles, now they are harden and deformed, how can I re-use them or I just threw them away?
Heat them with a heat gun and lay something flat and heavy on top for a day or two and they will flatten out again. If you don’t like them change the tops with a topcoat.
I watched your video and poured mine right along with you, but mine did not cooperate. There were zero striations. ☹ I hadn't done any resin work in quite a while and I forgot about the effect of room temp on resin. Even though I used a heat gun, I think my room temp may have been too cool. I ran my heater while pouring BUT I turned it off when I was done. I know better than to do that! Temp was probably 68-69 degrees. I am not giving up though. Gonna try again on my next day off 🙂
Beautiful !! Being a novice resin artist , have a few questions : 1.) Are they 4 inch coasters? 2.) what is the ratio of Resin : Hardner used ? Thanks in Advance
New Sub 💚 Love this color combination! I am making knobs for a cabinet in my office but have one question about the gold leaf. How long did you wait before adding the leaf? I saw 15 later on the next step but there was a cut before the leaf and want to make sure I do this exactly the way you did so the gold leaf doesn't spread out everywhere because my geode mold is much smaller. Thank you for all of your amazing tutorials 🥰
I only waited a few minutes to add the gold leaf. You can babysit it for 15 minutes after it’s placed to manipulate it to stay where you want it with a silicone tool or pop stick. Good luck!!
This is so wonderful, just two question, Did you say you used liquid dye or Power to dye ? And how long before you put on the last layer of clear resin ?
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 thanks so much for your information. Do you need to sanding between the top cost so it can fix it self to the dry renin as I see this done on big river tables?

Hi, your video was very nice with good explanations. How did you achieve the striations in the coasters? Thx!
It's an automatic thing when mixing the mica mixture with the clear mixture in this technique. I love this technique!
Absolutely gorgeous! Great job! What could you use on the back instead of cork? I’m afraid it would ruin the look.
They have little clear rubber feet you can use too
Beautiful work! I just purchased materials. I subscribed to your channel. How do glasses or cups stay without slipping off and do hot drinks hurt the coasters? Thank u
They shouldn’t slip off 🤔 we’ve never had that issue. The resin will take the temperature from hot cups as well with no problem 👍
Thank you for the tutorial. They came out very pretty. Why do you spray alcohol on the top of the resin at the beginning of the process? What is it for?
It pops bubbles so I don’t have to torch on my molds and risk ruining them. Make sure to use 99% alcohol though so it doesn’t leave a residue.

Hola. Solo el color verde es mica pouder?
Después de cuántas horas de curado agregaste la resina transparente?
The green and cream was mica and you have to fully cure before adding clear.
6:44 clear resin mean.... Only resin. Or mix with hardener ...dear ..
Yes both, it won’t cure unless you mix them together. I just don’t add color to keep it clear.
Hi. Can you tell me what you spray on half way through please? I absolutely love these. X
I spray 99% alcohol to pop bubbles 😊
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 Ah thank you. I am going to try this tonight.
Is it a low viscosity resin ?
Amazing result 😍😍😍
No it’s a 1:1 ratio used for casting
Do you let your resin sit before pouring it into the molds so that it is less liquid please?
Not at all you need to let it work together as long as possible in the mold.
How long did you wait before adding the final clear resin. Beautiful coasters
Till the first layer is cured
Would you provide a link for the foil that you used in the center please?

It will rub off if it’s handled a lot there’s really no way to seal that in but can be re applied.
At 5:20 in the video what did you spray on the resin ?
99% Alcohol to pop bubbles without leaving any residue
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 thanks if u use the alcohol do u still need to use the heating gun ?
@@barbaradurdle3963 not necessarily if you’re using the heat gun to pop bubbles.

Interesting 🤨 my house never got that cold so I’m not sure if that’s it or not
Is the side facing the mould less shiny?
No not as long as your mold is shiny.
Can you tell me that green is mica powder and how much you have used
I did that video over a year ago, the links should be in the description box and as far as how much I just eyeball it, I don't measure micas.

Yes on high heat 👍
I was wondering if this only works with mica powders and two part epoxy or can you use pigment in uv resin?
