  • This video shows the quickest and simplest way to install a Hudson float valve on a water tank.
    I installed a Hudson float valve on my 100 gall water tank. This is a buffer tank on our pressure washing truck. The tank is constantly being filled by the client's water supply. If we forget to turn it off or there is really good water flow, our buffer tank will overflow.
    The Hudson float valve is constructed of hard plastic with an internal float that shuts off water flow once the desired fill level is reached.

    Save yourself the trouble and by a Jobe float valve. Much better quality.

    Just came across your vid trying to figure out how to solve a unique issue that I had. A nice thing of using that garden hose adapter, it eliminates the bulkhead fitting. Kind of a simpler setup. And a 90 degree fitting can be used to take stress off the hose and have Banjo Garden Hose cam locks for quick attachment/detachment. Thanks for putting this out.

      Careful using 90-degree fittings. I have found that they are notorious for cracking. Especially if you are using that line for suction.

    Have you had this valve intermittently get stuck open causing a flood?
    If so what’s the root problem you think.
    At this point I don’t trust it as you can imagine.
    Possibly looking for an alternative float valve option if you know of any.

      If you unscrew it, there is a little plastic screen. It regulates pressure or something. If that screen is missing or clogged it will not work properly. Try looking up a "jobe" valve, might be more reliable.

    I take it you have a hose hook to the tank leading to your machine. Does the water running out of your tank to your machine enough to feed the machine?

    • @divcleaningservice9522
      @divcleaningservice9522  Год назад

      It does. Right now I have the hose hooked to the tank with 2 Hudson valves. So I do not have a restriction filling up the tank. I have a 1in line from the tank to my machine. Direct and short line to the machine so there is no restrictions.

    Is your pressure washer a 8.0 gpm or 5.5 gpm? Just wondering because you have a 100 gallon buffer tank.

      We have a few different ones. This one is 8 I believe. the 50 gallon I had before would not keep up when doing flat work.

    I think that the jobe valve is probably better and you can adjust the level that you want

      I had one on my last tank and it reduced water flow too much. We kept running the tanks dry.

      I don't believe there's a need. The bleach tank is just a storage tank. When it gets low you just pour more into it.
