It's my families last week in Hawaii before heading home. I get to take my son surfing, our family snorkels the clearest water EVER on the West Side, and we hike some beautiful mountains on the East Side! What an insane way to finish their trip here.

There's a lot I didn't film with the family, cause the trip was so hectic, I wanted to be sure I was being intentional with my time with them. But the MAIN thing that got left out was getting a Fish Hook stuck in my finger that cut our kayak adventure short, after that Hike in the opening sequence. Oh man that was a classic googan move 😂
Both my kids got hit with the board and were afraid to surf at a young age . My son we revisited surfing in his late teens for some redemption . My daughter I had to offer 50 bucks during her college years if she rode a wave the money was hers and she did . My little brother got slashed when I took him as a child and 30 years latter I got him out and he surfed a wave . The fishhook problem reminded me of a time fishing with my son . I made a cast and some how the hook got lodged in his neck and once again I am done with that dad . To much pain . I even ruined my dog putting her on a board as a puppy . She stayed far away from the waters edge . Dont think we will do a redemption with her at 15 years old . Now the last couple years my son and me took up mountain biking together and a new sport for both of us and something we could do together . Its funny how things work out

Your a great role model. I wish that i had never taken my family for granted. Keep doing what you do and I'm going to try to keep this clean sober surf life!

I'm sure you're gonna be super busy while you're in Hawaii, but I just want to say, I'd love to see more tutorial videos in the future. You did an amazing job explaining barrel riding in your other ones. I'm sure there is a lot more knowledge and tips you could offer that would help mediocre surfers like myself!
