This is the real surfing, riding the wave as long as possible, and while doing it, you can try all sorts of tricks, hang 5 or 10, spinners, even stand on your head or lie down. But you can also just stand on the board and enjoy the heck out of it .
Short boarding is fine, but not as fine as this .

Say what you will, longboarding is still the purest form of surfing. The girl in the one piece has footwork that is so smooth and quick. The board is just an extension of her.

I disagree. For me the purest form of surfing is getting tubed. Such a simple manoeuvre, but also so difficult. Longboarding to me seems so fidgety and busy. Each to their own though.

@@davel4708 Watching really good riders in the tube is very impressive for sure. I like the fidgety aspect of the long board considering they can be on such small waves.

This is my go to video when I want to de-stress and daydream. Surfers and their friends hangin' out surfin' in not killer waves havin' fun. The music totally works, too!

I never knew Waikiki had waves big enough to surf. I only saw flat water there, but have not seen it in February.

The art of trimming your board is not lost! Some of those maneuvers were S-M-O-O-T-H. Hanging 5 and 10 is sweet to see.....not just a showboating trick, but a necessary technique!

Nice video. I'm thinking the ancient Hawaiians would be proud and probably astonished at the fiberglass boards. That this was a recent Olympic event only makes me more happy to see this.

Went to Waikiki this past week and taught myself to surf as a 50 year old man/. Unfortunately the locals don’t like newcomers 😢and I had to deal with at least 3 different people bitching and moaning that I shouldn’t be surfing in that spot. Not fun

Surfing is a lifestyle sport that appears to offer the lot. Excitement, adventure, thrills and an altogether more attractive version of yourself. Many alphas have been attracted to surfing and continue to be. However, the truth is that surfing offers us little more than an endorphine hit with a wardrobe to go with it. Our surf mates turn out to be chasing the same false connection. True alpha connection comes from being a good person, respecting the environment and animals (plant based). Our impact on the ocean and environment from surfing is detrimental and shows a lack of respect. It's interesting how these types of activities can have such a grip on people who may otherwise be good alpha's. They are lost but hopefully can find themselves.

Sad u r very very wrong. Surfers are probably the most protective of the environment,, no. 1,,bc we are deeply deeply connected to her. Second, this goes way beyond endorphins and nothing alpha about it
It teaches us presence, Oneness, respect for Gaia and Source,, and allows us to connect with HER ONLY WHEN. We are in flow state,, which flows into life as well when out of the water. It is a Spiritual phenomenon that only a surfer knows. This just barely touches upon what surfers experience. Sure there r alphas, as in every sport and or.passion but by far the overwhelming majority would ditto what I have stated. It's a love like no other and 3rd it offers a way to stay healthy and connect with others who share the same passion and love.
