Great video!! It has been the 1980's since I last saw a guy on a paipo board. I grew up surfing the HB pier and there was a local Hawaiian guy with a red 911 Porsche who always parked up front in the pay parking. He wouldn't be wearing a suit in 60 degree water or colder! I'll never forget him or that wooden paipo and how he rode it - he opened my mind to try all kinds of wave tools. We never spoke but I would thank him now if I could.
I cant get enough of koston and his son surfing! I wanna see more of it.

when I first moved to Oahu in 93 I paddled out early and surfed it by myself until I got ran off but those waves were epic, first and last time out there, tyvm for sharing.

At first I was like ...""whoa, Kalani has been in Cali for too long. He doesn't sound like a local anymore." But he for sure still eats like a local! Plus he said "bolo head", "yeah you!" and "geff'em"! (Even if it was with a Cali accent 😂). Still calls everybody Uncle though! Just messin' with you guys. Super fun vid!

July 22, 1984 a large tour boat got caught in a large set of waves and backed into the line up at Point Panic killing a body surfer. Scary shit!

Just Picked up a 5'6 FireWire Mashup, a 5'9 Dominator 2.0 & a Lost Sub Driver 2.0 Thumb Double Dart.
The last is my favorite aesthetically. But I think the mashup is going to be my favorite to ride just from "The Feels".

I used to surf this break all the time in the late 70s. I broke more boards there than any place else. Mad Man they used to call me. Loved it when it’s fricken huge!
