These were my turtles growing up, so I'd love to see them get new figures with more modern articulation some day
Super 7 is taking care of that
Now I hope Neca will remember of 2003 cartoon existance.
Super7 has the rights to do them and will be starting to release them next year, so we'll probably never see NECA touch them.

Playmates is the absolute worst at marketing and advertising. They dont even have a website where they announce their releases. You just show up to the store one day and they're thier.
Just saw Leo, raph, and Donnie at my local Walmart for 10$ a piece. I had to get them, the amount of nostalgia I had when I saw these things hanging there. Like you said the box is just so unique and cool, instantly eye catching

I agree. I am shocked Playmates didn't release them earlier in the year (I mean this year is TMNT 2003's 20th Anniversary, so chances are they were either sidetracked by TMNT: Mutant Mayhem or something else).
I hope to see more re-issues of more 2003 figures, like Shredder, Hun, Casey Jones, and April.

2003 TMNT was the last of Playmate s greatness.
Especially towards the end of the '03 line.

FINALLY some 2003 love. I’m so sick and tired of the constant pandering to the ‘87 show. This version absolutely rocks (the first 4 seasons at least). By far the best adaptation of the turtle mythos ever put out. This was the BTAS of TMNT. I’m all in on these toys, bring out more! And that theme song is a certified banger lol.

Agreed. I respect the 87 series, but it certainly has a lot of attention already in terms of merchandise, spotlight, and even video games. This is the 20th anniversary of the 03 series, after all, and while I would have liked to see more done for it, having these reissues is certainly better than nothing. Now we just need Neca to make us show accurate versions of the 03 cast. Utrom Shredder's badass design is in long need for a modern action figure. ^^

If the 2003 show was the BTAS of TMNT, then the 87 show would've been the MMPR of TMNT.

Holy shit what?! This is insane!!! I grew up with the 2003 Turtles, they were my intro to the series. (as were these particular figures.)
I kinda forgot about them after a long time, up until some months ago when I saw the 2003 series was finally getting a complete DVD release. Then I got back into that, and got into the Mirage comics and absolutely fell in LOVE with the series like I did as a kid. Mirage Turtles / 03 Turtles is the peak of the series imo. Hope these will be back in stores, I will absolutely be buying these things again! Thanks for making this vid!
I’m super happy they are re-issuing these figures! I actually didn’t even know about the 2003 series until just a few years ago, but I saw the original figures from that series in photos and was thinking about tracking them down. Now I will be able to get them at retail price instead of a huge markup! Super happy about that!
DUDE YOU GOTTA WATCH IT THE 2003 series (specifically the first 5 seasons) are so good!
These turtles i grew up with on the tv show. I had a few of the vehicles and the alternative customs with the code for the video game on PS2.
As well these versions were re-issued multiple times when the tv show was on tv. I remembered they re-issued these with brown belts to better match the tv show versions since the first wave had black belts.
As well they re-issued again but with updated articulation points like adding articulated hands and toes and matte the skin tones on the turtles
This is actually pretty good timing because the complete series DVD set just came out too. It also gives me a second chance to collect these so, yeah, thanks Playmates. 👍🐢
They are clearly only doing it cos super7 announced they would be taking on this license. Otherwise playmates wouldn’t have reissued them, guaranteed

Last week I was lucky to see them at a Wal-Mart and i was able to pick up Leo and Mikey But i'm still on the hunt for Raph and Donnie. And who ever came up with the idea to bring them back in store shelves gotta Give props to the guys at playmates for doing this Because it's my favorite version Of the Ninja Turtles its underrated.
The best feeling is to go to a a random Target and finding these without knowing they were going to release! I was confused but so happy at the send time!
Lol same! Playmates does absolutely zero marketing for these releases. I was doing my weekly search for a foot soldier from the original line and found these at WalMart. Then I went to Target and found the Bebop and Rocksteady mutation figures. I had no idea any of them were released. Now Im on the hunt for the Leo and Raph Night Ninjas.
Happy for the reissue and it be cool if neca make them

Cool to see the 2003 series tmnt get some love. Such a great series. Still have my originals with some vehicles. One nitpick i have with the packaging is,the originals cards back then for the turtles had their face on the top for the respective turtle instead of all four.
Yeah, that looked awesome. I'm not usually an sealed package collector, but I would have bought these for that purpose if the packaging was like the old ones.

Great release, the 2003 version of TMNT is my favorite incarnation of the turtles!
The 2003 series was my tmnt growing however because of how young I was I only had some of the McDonald’s toys. I’m genuinely so happy and excited to see these figures back. I’ll definitely be grabbing them when I can
As a huge 03 fan, I will definitely be seeking these out. Would be nice if they could casually be found in Walmart like the other old Playmates reissues.

your Raphs right upper arm is backwards. His triceps is at the front, can be sorted at the shoulder and elbow. great review. have the OG of these
Quality control issues from current Playmates Toys?!
@@elmarakovideo yes, but in this instance, you fix it by; elevating the shoulder, rotating the shoulder 180 degrees, then drop the shoulder and rotate the elbow and arm to the front.
I like the '87 series, but these versions are cool too. Would be nice to have a Raphael that can actually hold his Sais forward though. I see other Raphs that do it but just feels like the hands will break if I try.
Oh good! I can use these to replace my original Raph's sai which is the only thing I'm missing. If they re-release Splinter, I'll pick him up too!

I've been away from tmnt from next mutation to now. Neca brought me back and now I want to collect each of the 4 turtles from every Generation. I'm glad these are coming. I think I should get the Rise ones before they get too expensive. Who would be the hardest to find? I thinking Next Mutation and 2007

They should have updated the articulation. They would have only had to retool the arms and legs. That being said i may pick em up for wall pieces.
I remember having these when I was 5 years old I use to have almost had the whole set I was only missing Casey Jones, but I never got them because he was one of my favorite characters

Awesome review, dude! Love the card backing on these figs are some of my fave TMNT out there. The coloring, accessories (especially Don's) are so great! Cool shots of sticking Leo's swords in his hands! Coffee's done now, later dude!
Will we ever get reissues of the 2007 cgi movie figures?
I bought Leo and Raph (my two favorites) back in 2003 but I’d love to get the re-release of Michelangelo and Donatello to complete the set. Haven’t been able to find these figures in all the stores I’ve checked. Hopefully they will make more.

I found mines today at target all 4 turtles. I end buying all 4 and there was nothing left . I wonder why they only brought 1 set to the store
The only one I don't have is Michelangelo, they don't have it at Walmart or Amazon. Ebay wants it for $30, so the only place left to check is Target.

Will these be available online again at Target? Or even online at Walmart period? Looks like these have been scalped to oblivion on eBay, as usual with anything TMNT related that isn’t dogshit.
