These form factor devices are not meant for doing serious work, for better battery life, it would be a great use of the ARM always connected. I'd pick up one right away if they went with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 850, which would possibly make room for an even larger battery. So it would be a truly portable device, with great battery time, good use of Windows S programs, always-on connectivity and when paired with a monitor, keyboard and mouse can serve as some workstation if you need to type out more without getting carpal tunnel.

Hi Chris, great video, cool product! Does the thermals can be improved? With something like a thermal pad for better heat conduction, or a ventilated base for using with high loads?
Great review as usual Chris! Just one thing, you reviewed both the GPD win and the GPD pocket but this is similar to the pocket, not to the win. Same in your website. I own a pocket 1 and to be honest battery life and keyboard are more of an issue than CPU power... Also lack of 4G is an issue for me. People believe they can have a full computer experience in their pocket but are soon disappointed after buying since you can't write anywhere as fast as a full keybord or even a decent ipad mini keyboard... (like the brydge one). And this thing is going to die in your pocket before you have done much with it... And windows is a pain to use at 7in... Even just 8in would be less of a headache. I believe the new Snadpdragon chips, which are i5 like, would be ideal for battery life and power and would include 4G. Also, the new pocket 2 (with m3 7th gen) has a more usable keyboard than this. And some more screen by reducing the side bezels would help too....
I would used this so I could download data from my oscilloscope, in the field without having to bring a 14 inch laptop. Also used to run sensors that require a window 10 PC too operate.

not FHD?
Thermal throttling, again. Dear Intel, do something ... or fix the TDP specs.
it's not thermal throttling if its above baseclock :)
@@MichaelFlatman Clocks above base clock is thermal throttling. Intel CPUs are slow as [censored] if can't reach some turbo speeds. Below base clock are unusable. Like my Thinkpad E480 :(
@@legyes yeah it is a bit of a bummer tbh, but to achieve full turbo clocks requires a lot of power, eg.the I5 8250U rated at 15w TDP can use up to 35-40w when all 4 cores are on turbo, before the power limit kicks in.
@@MichaelFlatman Yes, but after that the thermal limit kicks in and the CPU downclocks at 800MHz or below. With disabled turbo the I/O speed is a joke.
stream 4k video on 10 inch screen ? ok
If you looking for a full fledged computer then this is not it. If you looking to accomplish a specific task on the go then this will do the job.
669 US for a toy - nope
We meed more of these but cheaper.
Why would anyone buy it for over 600 USD, if u can get Surface Go?
Becoz of more portability?
@@sciencefiles3649 More portable to do what? Just curious.
It is pocketable, smaller, can be put in a shoulder bag. It is lighter and of course unique.
@@sciencefiles3649 I do understand that. What I don't understand is user case for such small device. It's simply uncomfortable even for productivity tasks bcoz of the screen and keyboard size. Same with other tasks. So, why would u buy this device for 600 USD, what would u do with it?
@@nikitamorozov7553 its their choice its your opinion its my guess
Motorola back flip??
