I use mine to remotely administrate Unix servers while on the go. Mostly when I'm on the train to work and people are screaming into my ear that they can't login into their user session. Like they can't wait just 15 minutes until I enter the damn office. Anyway, this has replaced my BlackBerry as my go to device for SSH'ing into servers and it works wonderfully. I'm running Linux on mine as that is what I prefer, though I also have ChromeOS with Android support as it's second OS.
The version I'm using is the Black, 8GB, 128GB, Intel M3, so it's faster than the Celeron version depicted on LTT.

if it is in lower power mode, why does the turbo boost still works? i dont think linus forget to turn low power mode off. if he did, he will realize later or someone will warn him before he edit/upload the video. but given the performance result i'd say the low power mode has been turned off. it sits at a right place, bit higher than the microsoft surface.

@@juliannaaka-babayega8941 I got all that, but what I don't get is why be moving around any equipment that does not need be? SSH is a option, plus I get hand cramps just watching him type on that thing. A 12in laptop was too small for me to type with both hands on. I can't see this being any better.

@@andrewyork3869 sometimes, as a sysadmin...you have to take your 'hardware' to the problem to do diagnosis etc. Big corporations still run Win95 and desktops that, require the human touch and or, have a reboot done there in person. This little device is easier to carry around for that purpose along with a tool kit, cords, lights, parts of various types et al. Even tho the keyboard is cramped, for the small amount of time one uses it, its a lot easier than trying to carry around something bigger and more weighty.

Can we get a review of their Gaming Mechanical Modular Keyboard? (GMMK)
I'm interested because you can just plop switches out and hot-swap i.e. your MX browns to blues

Switching keys doesn't take long anyway. Theres no point. You only have to solder and desolder two contacts per key. No matter how slow you are, not gonna take you over an hour. And you not gonna switch they keys that often.

Bit skeptical about his claim that “a short time ago it wasn’t even possible to build a computer in a form factor like this“ given that we’ve absolutely had this before, in the mid- to late 2000s with stuff like the OQO devices...

When typing while standing with one hand, use the onehandkeyboard Software. This software mirrors the keys from the right side of the keyboard to the left side when holding spacebar down, thus allowing you to touch type with only one hand. You adapt pretty quickly. Try it out.

Wouldnt it be genius if they put a clicky trackpad on the back of the pc so you could you your extra fingers to move the move while holding it?

Seems like everyone looks at PS Vita and thinks "no, that was a flop, it's not worth the hassle". That thing wasn't clickable tho iirc

That *would* be genius. My approach to this product in the first generation was to make it foldable, allowing you to convert it into a small tablet. The device's usability would go through the roof like that.

Linus: why did you create a logo and put it on the channel without my permission?
Employee: I wanted it to be a surprise!
Linus: I don’t like it, go make a new one and put it on the channel, or else I will fire you!
Employee: *works on the new logo and uploads it the next day

I'm shopping around for some older netbooks as dragging a full-sized laptop around just to do remote server maintenance is impractical and tiring. This seems like a nice solution. But I won't bother with stock OS and I'll result to Arch linux because one, gotta look like I'm hacking in i3wm and two, Windows gives me a headache.
