- Russell Moore explains three areas where churches need to prepare as they address transgenderism in the community. They must understand what the Bible teaches about gender, they must avoid stereotypes of gender, and they must prepare to disciple those who feel alienated from their own gender.

I didn't hear him call it "sin."
In this very particular sound byte he wasn't tasked with "is denying manhood and womanhood sin?" which would be obvious, he's helping us to confront our lack of thought and theological preparation in ministering to those who do so we can more lovingly and wisely live and give Jesus to them.

I would have rather heard Dr Moore answer the ethics question he posed to his students. This answer barely even scratched the surface of being helpful for those in pastoral ministry.
Wonder how deeply he really believes in teaching gender roles from scripture? Paul was pretty clear about this issue.
Excellent points. Too many Christians just do not know how to deal with this and similar issues. They want to be able to but just do not know where/how to begin. I appreciate Moore reminding us to keep in mind the fallen state of these people. I know it is hard to remain compassionate when their is so much vitriol and hate being spewed forth from the LGBTQ...xyz quarters. Nevertheless, we must learn more how to deal with this most salient issue of our day. Pastors, it is you and your duty to not ignore this matter.
plzz, there are far too many pastors today that do not even answer straightforwardly about the need for all to repent and how that actually occurs. my conviction is that if one does not have a personal story to relate in this regard,( repentance and coming to legit fait)h he or she does not understand it and cannot explain it meaningfully to others.

LGBTQs are naturally reacting to the condemnation directed our way. We've been blamed for just about everyone of our Nation's ills. To date there's no case of a drag queen sexualizing or assaulting a child while in the US alone there have been more than 250 pastors and church workers convicted of sexually molesting children since November 1, 2022. Christians need to be more honest in what they believe and speak.

Is “gender dysphoria” something a person has rather than something a person does? If it is something a person has, does that person possess it ontologically? If it is not ontological, can a regenerate believer possess it?
These are excellent questions.
The term gender dysphoria is a leftist term. Moore is a known leftist CNN sympathizer. He uses Jesus love to excuse immoral behavior except when it comes to Mark Driscoll. Then he is happy to throw stones. Which means he has to dance around and play word salad with an issue. Making sure to use liberal terms rather than saying being transgendered is not a dysphoria it is a sexual immoral lifestyle and the Bible is clear about sexual immorality. He also hints at blaming Christian Men for driving “Tom boys” to now claiming they’re “gender confused”. Russell is a bought and paid for leftist so anytime he speaks we have to filter his thoughts through that lens.

You asked your class a question but you have no answer. I’m telling you right now, that as a pastor of a SBC church, if I had that happen I would treat them as anyone else coming to make the good profession. There is no sin beyond redemption except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, so I would treat them as Philip treated the eunuch, preach the Good News and baptize them as my brother in Christ and begin discipleship. It’s not a new concept Dr.Moore, you’re just pandering.
Would you require them to have sex-reassignment surgery back to their birth sex before you would recognize them as born-again? Could they be baptized when they have scheduled surgery? Or only after is finished? Do you have any idea how much skin, surgery, steps in the process it takes?

Good on you, but you’re at a place in your ministry that many have not yet attained but they will be confronted with this issue sooner or later. Moore is helping them grapple with the issue so they will handle it with all the love and grace Jesus expects from us. You could show more grace, here, towards Moore.
You have a "complex biblical view" on transgenderism. That doesn't sound like the rest of the Bible. I bet it does take a lot of words for you to make it sound OK.
I'm 65 y/o... and I am a TOMBOY... still at this age of life..... there is NO WAY I ever fell into Gender stereotypes...my attitude has COST me in many ways as so many do subscribe to stereotypes.... I can go from driving tractors to wearing gowns... I'm multi-dimensional.... It's fun ! but so far no man has been able to handle me..... I'm called a wild filly....

As a 38 year old “tomboy” I’m perfectly happy with the system God created. I can kill and skin a deer and look good in a dress. I love to fish, bait my own hook and I’m a stay at home wife and mom.
The man is the head of the house, as long as he is under God’s will. God never called a woman to preach. Women have different jobs and functions.
There’s a big difference between being a tomboy and being a rebellious woman. Also, I’m almost 40 and am certainly no filly, wild or otherwise. Neither are you.
I kinda think of myself as androgynous. Also I'm hyposexual if not asexual. Also I could be a "cougar"...the majority of the time it's guys under 30 who catch my eye. But that could be because losing my hair (alopecia universalis - went from waist length hair to bald within 2 months - also lost all body hair, eyelashes, eyebrows) at 16 years of age might have caused a bit of arrested development psychologically

Obviously, you are not a Christian. A Christian would not call God by a female pronoun. He identifies Himself in the masculine sense and wants us to call Him our Father or Daddy. I don't want anyone to misidentify me based on their choice of what they want to call me. I want to be called by my choice. I prefer to punt to men such as Voddie Baucham or Bernard Harrison for cultural “race” discussions.
Until TGC and Dr. Moore cut ties with the former constituents listed I will not support nor promote the organization.
