oh wow holy shit, the algorithm got me here by some miracle and i honestly thought you were 100k sub channel at the very least. You make some amazing quality content, definitely subbing.
@@Jaindike honestly some of the better content I've seen on RUclips wish you had more videos posted, let's hope 2023 is gonna be a big year for your channel.
I bought a faulty 7950 ROG strix about 3 weeks ago, it apparently had some small lines scattered throughout the display output so I only bought it as a backup card in case my gtx 670 gave up (it also came with a similarly faulty 6970 as a combo so it was an even better deal). Not only did it have a different display error than advertised (two gigantic blue lines) it also shut the computer down within 2 minutes of running. I tried installing the radeon software by running my HDMI through the 6970 (which was working perfectly) while the 7950 was still in, but they only ended up literally stealing the video output from each other for about 2-3 minutes before it completely went black. I tried taking it apart, blowing on it with a hairdryer for 5 minutes (yes it was a hairdryer not a heat gun) and repasting it, and while this ended up fixing the blue lines, it still went black within two minutes. After about a total of 3 hours of pure suffering though, it somehow... came back to life. It fixed itself out of the blue, and now I have a GPU that has basically 1050 TI performance for about 17 bucks. It's also doing a fantastic job of running games like Rust at a solid 60 fps at medium textures and shadows, while not going above 70C thanks to the beefy cooler Asus made for this beast of a card. Best 17 bucks ever spent.
I'd still take the amd card. Nvidia will drop driver support eventually. AMD cards can have custom drivers installed as far back as GCN 1.0 NimeZ drivers for those interested. Saved Halo infinite on an old R7.
I need to add, actually you could install NimeZ drivers on as old as Terrascale cards. (HD2XXX series) I don't see any reason other than getting added stability and a few more games since the cards don't support vuklin, or even dx11-12. You might be able to make something 30 FPS payable, but I could see use for a plex server, or media center since windows 10 probably won't be happy with a Terrascale card on official drivers. The newer cards have Vuklin support, and run those games well on the GCN cards.
Damn the real highlight of this video was that there are 1070s for 100$? One could finally build an acceptable budget pc again! Another other recentish news on aliexpress you can now get the reduced shader version of 8gb RX580 for 60$ now! its performance is within 5% of the regular rx580 and is currently the best performance per dollar out there buying used. Honestly the fact that the HD 7950 is still at least viable is a side effect of nvidias "almost-monopoly" throughout a big chunk of the 2010s AND games not getting anymore demanding, tooling games to run on a wide-variety of systems instead of pushing the cutting edge. Of course you still have your cyberpunks and crysis remastered, but overall games have not gotten significantly more demanding since the mid 2010s. What I mentioned above was even more likely caused by the intel monopoly throughout the 2010s. When intel was charging 450$ for "quad-cores" even a couple years into when ryzen was first released in early 2017. That is why we finally have gaming utilizing more cores. There were just other bottlenecks on the system that needed to be resolved. The only reason I retired my HD7970 in early 2019 was because after 5.5 years of pretty good usage (purchased it in september 2013 for 300$) the card started to fail. I replaced with with a 4gb RX580 which I had purchased as a temp card, but ended up keeping it for 2.5 years due to the crypto mining shortage. The RX580 is a pretty good 60% boost over an HD 7970 and was only 200$ at launch for the 4gb variant. in 2016 (rx480) / 2017 (rx580)
Best youtuber out here! Love the enthusiasm in every video. I'm about to start a channel doing the same kind of content. I have a tonnnnn of older parts i could test out. Any advice for starting?
I like the spirit of the video but with that i3 that GPU is barely working, it barely got hotter than 55 degrees with that crappy cooler. Im sure with a powerful CPU the performance will be much better
get a i7 4990k in there or higher the graphics quality to kill the bottleneck and also please use windows 10 because windows 7 is not optimised for newer titles any more

Yeah the i3 is really holding back peformance ngl it should be at least as powerful as a gtx 1050
Yeah.. I need to upgrade
probably closer to a 1050ti

In the world of 4090s we really need more attention to the low spec, keep it up man
edit: Also, an Insurgency benchmark? Hello, based department????
Ty, I got all the based tech tips man
I love how old cards look
Likewise. Noo more rgb
non rgb pcs were so clean :O
this was the first card of the first build i ever made in late 2013, still have it collecting dust wonder if its worth tryna make a build out of it
Ooh might be worth. Could be a good in a low budget system
Imagine going from this to an RX 7900 XTX! Would be an awesome upgrade!
That'd be awesome! As long as the XTX doesn't overheat to much...

How well does it compare to a GTX 950? Would it be an upgrade or downgrade?
7950 might be a tiny bit faster

Thank you & best of luck! Advice? Uhh make good thumbnails. Im still working on that but its the most critical part of a video imo
Bouta cop this and put it into a bomb.
WhAT
Just 3$ wdh man what a decent deal
I bought a HD 6510 for 10$ couple of weeks ago
Ooh not bad. I got very lucky with this GPU lot
I had this GPU and had the same problem with the same fan.

Yep! Currently looking at some i7s
Try moded drivers
Will do!
You should try it with something like pentium g4560
Definitely, I've plans to do a video on it
i got a r9 280x 6gb still pretty good today withe nimez drivers
I need to try those out. Heard such great things about them
LOL
I had the 7770 until 6 yrs ago.
It just finally died one day, but it was a beast for the time.
Dang. RIP your 7770.
@@Jaindike LOL
It lasted far longer than I expected.
Now I need the funds to advance from my current 2080 Super.
Though it is actually fine for now.

Currently working on that! Didn't know that about 7, thank you
No way 1060 or 1070 is only 30 to 40 $ more
They regularly go for about $70-$100 on ebay here in the US
Thats the same gpu i have in my pc lol
Lol nice! Its still a solid card
csgo is mostly cpu and 112 frames were from it not the gpu
That was the most disgusting heat sink I have ever seen
Likewise. Nothing I've seen before even comes close
Get yourself a e3 1240v3 from aliexpress for ~£30
Thanks, will look into it
DUDE WHAT THE HELL U HAVE 40% USAGE OF GPU AND 100% OF CPU AND U TELL NONSENS
OD of nonsense.. exposed...
you are benchmarking that poor bench cpu at this point
Yeaaah. I'm working on getting an i7
@@Jaindike hey at least we know the full capabilities of that i3 👍
Why are you yelling?
Good question
i had 7870 played 1440/900 in gta 5 much better performance its because ur cpu is bad
I higly recommend the AMERNIME ZONE AMD 3RD PARTY DRIVERS they can be found on guru 3d fourms.
Thanks, will look into it
