Murky Water Fishing

- Graeme tries a bit of murky water canal fishing, looking for a Perch or Jack Pike. Then it’s over to Grant’s Tackle Up where he takes his trusty .22 vermin controller in for a bit of evaluation using a Chronograph tester. Straight on from this he drops into a Screwfix Show where he finds a really bright headlight that might do the job for either beach fishing or Carp fishing. He moves on with his battered old camera and checks out some olden times shops which he had missed on a previous visit. If you are of a certain age is there anything that you can remember seeing or using in there?? Finally he explores an Anderson shelter, designed for the British public to try and survive the bombs being dropped in the World war….Now that’s quite a varied mix of topics…another film of midweek mashups to keep the Awesome Army entertained..Enjoy!

You always pick me up when I'm having a bad day with anxiety ....thank you for just being you
Your not the only one mate . As got it as well and it’s horrible some days .
Keep them coming. Thank you 👏
love the mish mash topics graham ,thank you for all your hard work 👍
That was a wonderful video Graeme. My grand parents had a anasen shelter in their backyard, I still remember playing in it when I was a child. Those were good times & happy memories.
Loved this. Proper mixture of different topics. Leaning about different hobbies & ways of life. Keep it up Graham
More to come hopefully, lot of work and travelling to get the footage, but once winter arrives I won't be doing them and hope to have a good stockpile of material.
Great to watch as always Mate, thanks to yourself and Grant for sharing your knowledge as always :)
Love TA videos. Best fishing site on RUclips. Just bought a float rod and centrepin reel. Making a comeback. Haven't bait fished since late 1970"s
Nothing like it! A great choice
Another great video. Thank you Graeme. I can highly recommend the Ledlenser torches, as I still use my one at work every week and it's 16 years old now. A really reliable torch, has never let me down!
The fashion gurus 😂😂 cracked me up 😂
That fella really new his onions on guns , another fantastic video Graham
more please Graeme it takes me back to happier times when i was a little kid and things were so much simple, love it.
Pleased you enjoyed it,as you say, everything seemed more happier back then. Certainly society itself was better, today its a totally different animal .As my Carpenter told me ..."There's a lot of angry people out there Graeme"...I feel he is not wrong.
A good mish mash ,without any fish .The bridge roll was a nice soft roll to have at a party spread.
Those old shops brought back a few memories I even remember sawdust on the floor in the butchers.
I can't believe how much authenticity they have created with those displays...Nice to see...better times I feel.
That Anderson shelter looks cozy in its own way. Must've been a harrowing experience to be IN one that was actually being bombed.
It would make a good overnighter ,with a heater and the oil light going. You could make something out of the space with a bit of imagination. But then they were built just for emergencies when the air raid sirens went..I don't imagine a picture on the wall or a vase of flowers would have been a priority ...
Absolutely fantastic Graeme, the old sweet shop and those weighing scales brought back some great memories.
I remember the old family butchers too, delivering your weekly Sunday joint in the basket of a bicycle.
My parents had an Anderson shelter up until the 1980s, they used to keep the pigs in it..
Brilliant memories when you could say what you want to without offending anyone!
Absolutely...better times than the stressful mess the world is in today...
Thanks for sharing, very interesting as always, keep up the great work.
Nice one Graeme, really interesting, reminds me of Jack Hargreaves out of Town. Thanks!
The reason you hold the rod like that is to write your own destiny!
Honestly, the turnips doing shenanigans like that.
@TAFishing looking at these comments from the ladies, you're well in there Graeme😂😂😂😂
Really good mix really enjoyed watching can't wait for the next one
Will work on it over the weekend, but there might be fishing as the wind is down for a couple of days.
@@TAFishing that's cool thanks
Not been on your channel in a while graeme so glad your still plugging away my friend...great footage as usual ,this is why your the number one fishing channel👍😉👋👋👋
Thank you Graeme
Hi Graeme, nice rifle you have there, just a thought if you are having it done up. You can get more modern Polyurethane elastomer piston seal to replace the old leather one and fit a new breach seal. Also was wondering if a weihrauch front sight may fit, yes a new spring and re-grease with some Molly and god help them rats . Love your channel and been a subscriber from the start.
Good to see you using the poofy perch pinch technique 😅
Anything with Grant in is always very interesting, is there anything he doesn’t know about. Look forward to seeing the end result.🐟🎣
He does know a lot of fishing and gun stuff for sure.
great video
have a great day
I remember the Anderson shelter in the garden when I was a boy. Dad had used it as a coal shed. Huge spiders lived in there.
John in South Devon
I loved the way you were talking about the pencil grip technique for lrf fishing it was hysterical and if you did have a big take then what!!! Interesting video Mr P catch you on the next one
Absolutely love the Wednesday's videos Graeme .
More to come I feel,I only just got in from a Catfish trip so will be pushed for a Friday film now !...
My mum was an orphan of the war she doesn't remember her mum and dad, so I had no grandparents she remembers an Anderson shelter when the doodlebugs cut engine they hid under the bed I've been to Berlin and honestly every girl gave me a hug they are so nice. Don't book a hotel stay with us well cook you a Yorkshire pudding
Mr Gran was the same. The family came from Sarf London,Camberwell in fact..Same thing, she said they had a thick wood kitchen table and she said she hid under it when the sirens started...mind you she hated thunderstorms and firework night due to the bombs....can't say I blame her....Sounds like you were popular in Berlin..!!
Well I never Graeme I have the same air rifle Model 35s ( one of many ) , bought it brand new when I was sixteen cost me £ 60 00 quid ish !! in1973 !! a lot of money back then !!. did a spring upgrade a few years back and got the old girl up to 11fp German made quality . Always watch you're brilliant content and thank you 👍
The German stuff is generally really good quality.
Cheers Graham. Love my old BSA air rifle.
Grant is a mine of information👍
How rude was that other guy from LED lenser?
Tried taking the head torch out his hand and interrupted him twice.
Brilliant video again GT 👍🏻
Yeah should never of butted in that could of been a sale, should of elbowed him in the ribs 😂
The man talking was doing a perfectly good job I thought.....
From watching a couple of canal boating channels I was under the impression that the water only cleared up when boat traffic slowed down like during the pandemic.
Still not completely over the "ick" yet so T.A. Fishing is the closest to the river and lake I can get. Hopefully this week-end......
Lovely video Graeme. Bridge rolls, I’d completely forgotten about them, we used to have them on a Sunday for tea, little tiny bread rolls. What was the point of them?, a much different time that we lived in. I know about rose tinted glasses but I really think we were happier then. I wasn’t scared to go & fish my local river. I’m 70 now and wouldn’t dare go near it now. Different times Graeme.
I'm amazed anyone out in RUclips land would even remember Bridge rolls. I had to cycle a mile to buy them from Wight's Bakers in Fleet,on a Friday,on fear of a severe thrashing if I got there and they had sold out...I must do a vlog about the old school days and thrashings. Would be considered brutal nowadays but we all survived through it and had respect for our elders.
great vlog thanks lee
Love your videos Graeme whether you catch or not makes no difference as you seem to love the countryside and it shows. Out of interest is that reel your using today a Mitchell looks very familiar to one i have stowed away somewhere.
a Mitchell,probably one of the old Shimano's.
Not sure on the advice about cleaning your barrel every tin of pellets . Mine has been untouched for years and i shoot very accurately. I often use an entire tin to re lead the barrel after a clean , i only clean when it shoots off
Lynda Bellingham was the Bisto lady, not sure if there ever was an OXO lady?
The canal didn't look very promising in that colour, especially for perch. For better or worse, I remember those old products and advertisements better than last night's supper. Also the meat slicer, fan-shaped scales, and those huge brass cash tills with flags showing 1/6d, 4/11d and £2 9s 4d, which would have bought a week's shopping. In that era a keen angler would typically own a float rod, a "bottom fishing" rod that doubled as an Avon and ledgering rod for everything up to and including barbel and carp, and a heavy rod for pike and occasional sea fishing. None of your pellet wagglers, quivers or size 18 "carp" hooks.
You got it in one...all true. we made one rod do several jobs. I just caught some nice Catfish...but on my ordinary ancient Carp rods...I don't need anything other than my regular Carp rods for a lot of our "bigger" species.
@@TAFishing I took a photo of my float fishing tackle on the bank yesterday, apart from the line and hooks I don't think any of it was made this millennium. Didn't stop me catching a load of roach on bread punch. Not classic gear and not expensive, just what works.
If you’re going to hold the rod like a pen Graham. Maybe you should break out the pen rod again. Stay safe and tight lines.
I have an idea to make an ice rod for fun,a one off, then test it out.
I work at exhibitions and that bloke who interrupted broke rule 1, never interrupt a sale (not that you were buying but he didn’t know that)
i got that as well..!! especially as I ran my own shops for 38 years....I thought the guy talking did a perfectly good explanation.
Is that down the Basingstoke canal in fleet? If you ever want to go out and throw some dead baits, let me know buddy. Would love to pick your brain 💙
Can you ask your gun mate to do a demo of guns which you pump up with air please. I’ve inherited one and would love to hear his tips. Love the vids G Man
Its all been done in our previous films. Lots of different air guns, scopes etc.
Apparently the pen grip is supposed to improve sensitivity. Not a bit of me tho.
I've never done any lure fishing Graeme so excuse my ignorance. Would it be wortth dippping your lure in some flavouring in those conditions?
Possibly, but it just had that "dead" look about it with the colour. At least I gave it a go.
👍👍👍
Whoever holds their fishing rod like that, needs to stick to knitting 😂, bloody limp wrists.
Another pointless video. Time to unsubscribe
Oh dear,so you won't be wanting to watch the Friday fishing video then ?
@TAFishing rather watch paint dry, the videos are going downhill.
@@TAFishingi love the random videos !! Id like to see more of the shooting stuff tbh two of my loves are shooting and fishing
Brilliant head light for fishing awesome video Graham
