When they first hit the market, they were priced well below JSB and H&N pellets, making them a budget-friendly option. The price likely rose due to their growing popularity. I used to shoot the 18gr .22s in my HW100, and they were incredibly accurate. They’re produced in-house by JTS, not by QYS or any other manufacturer. Great review-really enjoyed it!
I use QYS on my BSA 177, just centres 16g on my FX Dreamline .22 and I love them in the .22 but not so much on the 177, that been said I’ve been saying a long time these are just like the QYS in quality and their accuracy with the right barrel , love you’ve reviewed them and you like them, as always cracking show
Hi. Just to say thankyou 👍👍. In one of your previous vids you just happen to say that your 9015 with std. barrel really liked jsb exact shorts (8.44). So gave them a go. Absolutely phenomenal….. first batch I tried right out of the box. Brilliant. Thank you 👍
That's brilliant news mate thanks! I'm just about to start testing some more shorts through the xti as it goes. Hopefully they will serve me well for some upcoming benchrest competitions 🤔
After watching this episode I checked my tin of .22 JTS and found them really consistent in size. I pushed them all through a 5.52 pellet sizer and they all required about the same amount of thumb pressure. I had already used some straight from the tin and they were pretty good at 35 yards. I overheard my RFD saying that they were having supply problems with QYS and were stocking JTS until the supply issues are resolved. I won’t be buying the 177,s if that’s how they perform even if they were 3 quid a tin. It will be interesting to see if the 177 heavy version is any better. There’s no excuse for producing such random sized pellets with the modern CNC machines around that can produce dies within very tight tolerances.
I was using this pellet design in the mid 1980s. It was .177 but had the mushroom round and shank, I think this design was originally poured in the 1950s? Yes, they worked really well but I discovered that they needed to be paddle loaded (leather on stick) because just jamming the magnet-rod in on them could cause a mild rocking on the skirt.
Not sure if you are talking about the shape of those but back in the 80's I remember pointed pellets, flat tip pellets, and those round tip pellets. I used to drill the tips of the round ones out to make hollow point pellets till I found hollow point pellets. That's one heck of a scope for less than a hundred feet, or even the 150 feet.
Great review Tommy, i only use H N pellets now, mostly barracuda 8s in everything ive got ,i just got fedup with paying premium money for crap results , so now i stick to H N, the quality is much and more consistent 👍
If your barrels like the h&n they are a safe bet mate and their aggressive pricing is brilliant for us.. I still can't beat a decent batch of heavies myself but would love an h&n alternative to them for the long range work.. one day maybe..🤔
I would try them after putting them through a resizer. I got the biggest resizer I could find on ebay as to let the barrel grooves still do their thing. Now super smooth loading and groups are a lot better with my hades.
Definitely need to be careful sizing down the biggest pellets and these are unusually large. Trying to size these down concentrically would probably be almost impossible. One of them wouldn't even fit the head measuring gauge ☹️ A gentle size down though for a soft jsb can definitely reap rewards in some barrels 100% 😉
A pretty exhaustive test there, you gave them every chance. I certainly wouldn’t waste money buying any more of these Tommy or giving the heavier ones a try. The term ‘buyer beware’ comes to mind
Hi nick, yeah very surprising results really. They look on the face of it ,to be well made but just oversized so much they get damaged on loading. Yep I'm curious too. My best guess at this point is they will get worse. The larger blast of air will almost certainly shred the skirts even more... Not sure.. we'll find out next year when the fac stuff arrives 😉
If you want top precision, you should size all pellets for match use. Also uniforms skirt roundness. Usually makes a drastic difference. Find a quality sizer. It ill be worth it.
Great to see you shoot so well, most of the airguns I've owned would make the target look like I'd used my browning with 28g of no6 shot 😄 how much does that set up cost ?
I can't possibly answer that 😳🫣 my wife reads the comments 😆😆 The red xti is about 4k worth. So pretty dear, however... Reality is that I can shoot very similar scores with my near 9 year old s510. 😉

I love trying out all the weird and wonderful stuff out there..but always end up using jsb for my own shooting and competition stuff. For me they consistently out perform everything else, when I can find good batches..
I've been using these for 2-3 weeks in my Redwolf and found them 'ok' - mostly in still conditions. I agree that they are noticeably inconsistent when loading. However, I tried a few in my HW44 pistol and it doesn't seem to like them at all - probably due to the lower power and pellets being tight to load. Interestingly, the first tin I had was really good. Subsequent tins not so good.
I've never seen such large pellets mate. Since filming I picked a few more larger ones out and rodded them through another couple of barrels. They get really torn up😞 Shame as they look well made, clean and well packaged. I'd be interested to see chrono results from the pistol...
If nothing else I've just proved to myself that my HW44 is underperforming somewhat? Test was a bit rushed, but here's what you asked for.... JSB EXACT DIABLO .177, 8.44gr 4.6fp - 492fps 4.6fp - 494fps 4.6fp - 489fps 4.6fp - 494fps 4.5fp - 489fps Spread 5fps JTS DEAD CENTER .177, 8.7gr 4.4fp - 476fps 4.4fp - 476fps 4.4fp - 476fps 4.4fp - 478fps 4.4fp - 476fps Spread 2fps Incidently, none of the randomly selected JTS pellets that I used seemed to be overly tight when loading?
I bought a tin of these to try, I didn’t get very good results either. The 10.4 grain .177 JTS are a different story. I’ve bought over 10 tins of those and they’ve been great in my Reximex, Brocock, and Diana.
As with any pellet if your gun likes them and they are consistent use them. It would take something ultra spectacular to get me off of the JSB heavies at 30y they are consistently shooting 1/4" groups.
It would be interesting if you tried the heavier pellets TG, after much pellet testing my BSA R10 SE .177 definitely prefers the heavier pill. I've settled on Bisley Magnums 10.65g which are the most accurate and consistent pellet in my rifle, followed by JSB Heavies @ 10.34g. Just my findings. An interesting presentation mate, nice one. 👍
Personally I wouldn't use anything in my Weihrauch other than H&N FTT. Never had a bad pellet out of all the tins I have ever bought and same price as these. I have in the past bought JSB and found far too many to be damaged, Air Arms are not too bad. But H&N are top quality.
@@dennisreid4428 My 99s loves them. I think springers like a harder pellet and pcp's a softer lead, also FFT's are shorter and may not like being magazine loaded. But every barrel has its favoured pellet.
@@warrenbrooks-r2h When I bought the HW 110 I bought loads of little 25 pellets bags to see what it liked. Saw a video where somebody recommended these pellets, thought I'd give them a go. conclusion,I wasted my money. I'll try them through my 1982 BSA Scorpion springer pistol and see how they do. Yup I started on springers
Morning TG. Great video, just not the best of results! How are they achieving the longer reduced centre section, is it at the expense of the head or skirt, or is the pellet longer than others overall? Maybe they had 5 different presses going and mixed and matched filling the tins. 😃😃
Hi mate, compared to an exact the mid section is at expense of the skirts flare. They are a little longer overall than a jsb heavy too. They look well formed ,clean and no damaged skirts .weight wise they are good but they're just too large. One would barely fit in the head measure. They are getting deformed on loading and the skirts smeared off the back. It's weird there's no batch codes either 🤔
Hi mate, have your.22 got any batch codes on the tins? I also pulled out the papery disc from the lid of these incase it was hidden, but nothing obvious🤔 It was a fun test as it kept me on my toes but very disappointed with the results
@@tillysgunstocks Maybe JTS USA out of texas Uses Domestic production? I don't know, because in 10.3 .177, 16.08 and 18.1 .22 AND 25.39 they are absolutely one hole group pellets... Thats in Guns as expensive as a Crown Mk2, Dreamline Tac .25/600, Taipan vet 700LR .22, and Wildcat Mk3 BT .22, BRK XR concept .177, HW100k FAC .177. and as cheap as a notos (with 380mm STX superior kit and liner), Beeman Chief 2, SPA p35, SPA(ARTEMIS) PP750... Let me grab a tin or two. Tomorrow on the way home from work i'll hit my shoot site and retrieve the Lot #"s on my last .177, i keep the .177s at the shop and at the hunt cabin.
In South Africa JTS are cheaper than JSB. Pretty budget to be honest. And surprisingly good. The 22gr pellets are slowly replacing monsters as the preferred pellet amongst benchrest shooters as they habe no issue being shot ovsr even 1000fps and unlike JSB JTS pellets come out of the tin almost apotless even if someone micked around the tin at some point while you habe to bjy a crate to get a decent amount of undamaged monsters
I dont shoot .177 that often, but the JTS 10gr .177s are absolute laser beams. I said in another comment i know that JTS USA has a facility in Texas, i dont' know whether they produce there or not, but stateside, they're one of the more affordable options, and one of the best i use. As of late, AEA, JTS, and FX pellets are All i'll use, as whenever i receive NAME BRAND JSB, theyre usually in pretty horrible shape, which makes little sense, as the FX and AA, and Daystate pellets are all JSB made as well. i'll give you H&N seems to know what they're doing in .177, but in my other guns ALL OF MY OTHER GUNS, the only H&N products i'll shoot are the HP slugs and .25 Baracuda Hunters. All others have several POI per tin.. It drives me insane. where as all MY STX guns put JTS 16.08, 18.1 .22, 10.3 .177s, and 25.39 .25's in SIngle hole groups at 35-50 and 1.2 MOA or less at 100. How much are they running in the UK? here i'm paying 10.99 for 500 .177, 9.50- 10.50 for 250 .22, and 9.99 for 25.39 25s (150ct) whereas most sites sell JSB for 18.99-21.99 for 500 in .22 or .177 and 21.99 for 300 or 350 in .25 350 for 25.4 or 300 for heavies. I would shoot FTT but at my tune all of my guns would go supersonic. or way over 950 fps in the lightweight pellets FTT's are.
How often are you cleaning the barrel? I'm finding that if the barrels not spotless it just won't group. Where as my wolverine R has never been cleaned and groups way better.
The xti from new needed pretty regular cleaning for the first couple tins and settled down lovely after that. I do end up cleaning it regularly now though as I'm often bunging all sorts of junk pellets through it😆 With my usual heavies ill probably give it a quick pull through every tin of so😉 Don't forget to spend some time making accurate stripper adjustments aswell.
H&N are really picking up a huge amount of new customers of late mate. It's great for the sport and the competition between brands should help push development forward and more aggressive pricing.
The size variation explains this pellets bad performance. Perhaps the Chinese manufacturer is using a worn-out press, or running the machine faster than it was designed for. I use the .22 version in my BSA Hornet and it is OK at short range, but hopeless at 50yards. I'll stick with the Baracuda15's.
No batch codes as far as I can see. I didn't bother measuring them as i could feel the size was inconsistent as I fed them up the spout. Won't be buying anymore.
They're well calibrated mate, I've also not missed a single shot (of the tons of strings I've done) even on the stuff with a harsh muzzle blast. I did bend it all up in the side pocket of my bag a while back, just tweaked it all back straight and it's still spot on 😆
@ good to know I just bought one. Reads 10 fps higher than my LMBR which I used to think was my “accurate” chronograph. Just does my nut in just want to be legal so probably best to stick with the Nate I guess?
Tommy, that same profile with the band below the head had been used by Jsb approx 2006, they were the worst pellets out of the factory. Completely unusable in anything I had but wonder if the die had been sold on?
Not exactly radical, h&n did it with the sniper first. But in my experience, these style of pellets tend to be a little more tolerant of higher speeds, which can prove useful for hunting.
They are similar to the sniper and lights. But they had the elongated section behind a flat on the rear of the head. Similar to a jsb heavy .177 head. These have a standard ISH head shape with a taper to its rear and the elongated section is sacrificing skirt flare length😉
Those cuts in the pellets are far too deep, I recon its affecting the stability of the pellet whilst spinning, try " sizing " them down, preferably in increments, apart from that, I was expecting excellence straight out the tin, fantastic testing, there's 1000's relying on you with this one, don't mind paying £17 a tin, even if it means doing a little alteration ( sizing ) to get top notch accuracy.. I know you shouldn't have to do it, but if used for competition it would be worth it...
I'll do a vid in the future mate about sizing. I'll keep some of these for the vid as trying to size these down even incrementally is alot harder to do whilst maintaining concentricity. The rim of the head will vary hugely between them(once sized) on account of the massive variation of starting sizes . That can often cause bigger FPS spreads than is ideal. I'll go through it when I get chance but the key thing is always to start with the most consistent batches and then work them Into something useful.😀
There quality ammo...good in most rifles... apparently jts..got machinery from germany. Had set up a factory in china...cheaper then setting up in usa.....
Interesting you say that, as I've got further through the tin a few of the pellets have similar light ring marks around the heads as you occasionally see on h&n pellets.🤔 The sizing though is not ideal through this tin
@@tillysgunstocks with my testing only did 30 yards..so I would.nt no wat 50 yard groups would be..did them in daystate..hw100...s410..s510...ghost...vulcan..vixen....
Tried these 2 or 3 weeks back, TI50, not impressed, random grouping, flyers, may suit other barrels, maybe even the XTI 50 with some stripper adjustment, i even emailed JTS in 3 occasions to ask for the BC, no reply, so that speaks volumes, they either dont know or dont care, either way i wont be likely to buy another of their products!
I doubt they'd tighten up with any rig tweeks mate. Them large ones are getting heavily deformed on loading. I'd need a toffee hammer to bash em in the 9015 factory barrel 😆 You noticed the little ring around the top the heads on some? That looks like the swaging dies used by h&n ,or that style of tooling...they leave a tiny area for the air to escape. Hence the nipples found on some bismags and Barracudas
these pellets did not perform very well at all!,tried them in FX,,Air Arms and LW barrels.Weight consistency was pretty good so checked a whole tin for head size which ran from 4.45 to 4.62 !!!! there is the problem I reckon. I did seperate out the 4.49 to 4.51 pellets and have put them through my taper reamed sizer to try another day.Won,t be buying any more though and will just be an exercise to see if corrected head size makes a difference.........
I've done enough vids now with those barrels we can all see they are known good barrels and all very accurate in their own rights eh. I don't think I've ever seen such a broad spread in size.. ever 🤔
@@tillysgunstocks I know. I was just funnin' with you. Although, come to think of it, it would be cool to start measuring airgun shooting distances in 'Syds'. One Syd would be 10 yards, 2 Syds - 20 yards, etc. etc. etc... "Say, how far away was that varmint?" "Ohh, about 3 Syds." Hahahaaaaa

I've never seen such large pellets mate. Since filming I picked a few more larger ones out and rodded them through another couple of barrels. They get really torn up😞
Shame as they look well made, clean and well packaged. I'd be interested to see chrono results from the pistol...
@@tillysgunstocks If I get a spare hour this week I'll do that for you.
If nothing else I've just proved to myself that my HW44 is underperforming somewhat?
Test was a bit rushed, but here's what you asked for....
JSB EXACT DIABLO .177, 8.44gr
4.6fp - 492fps
4.6fp - 494fps
4.6fp - 489fps
4.6fp - 494fps
4.5fp - 489fps
Spread 5fps
JTS DEAD CENTER .177, 8.7gr
4.4fp - 476fps
4.4fp - 476fps
4.4fp - 476fps
4.4fp - 478fps
4.4fp - 476fps
Spread 2fps
Incidently, none of the randomly selected JTS pellets that I used seemed to be overly tight when loading?
I bought a tin of these to try, I didn’t get very good results either. The 10.4 grain .177 JTS are a different story. I’ve bought over 10 tins of those and they’ve been great in my Reximex, Brocock, and Diana.
Brilliant video
Cheers mate 😀
Don't they offer a head size to buy like Air Arms and JSB do?
Some of my rifles love a 4.52 and others 4.51.
They do a lovely mixed pack mate, one tin contains every size you might need randomly distributed throughout 🫣
Could be wrong but dont the air arms .... 🤔 field or hunter use the elongated waist? With hugely better results !??
As with any pellet if your gun likes them and they are consistent use them. It would take something ultra spectacular to get me off of the JSB heavies at 30y they are consistently shooting 1/4" groups.
It would be interesting if you tried the heavier pellets TG, after much pellet testing my BSA R10 SE .177 definitely prefers the heavier pill.
I've settled on Bisley Magnums 10.65g which are the most accurate and consistent pellet in my rifle, followed by JSB Heavies @ 10.34g.
Just my findings.
An interesting presentation mate, nice one. 👍
JSB all the way for me!
Same mate, I still can't better a decent batch of jsb. I just wish it was easier to find the good batches...
Use the 22.07 grain in my revere fac and brilliant it's the only pellet that are smack on and I've tried just about everything else
Personally I wouldn't use anything in my Weihrauch other than H&N FTT. Never had a bad pellet out of all the tins I have ever bought and same price as these. I have in the past bought JSB and found far too many to be damaged, Air Arms are not too bad. But H&N are top quality.
Can't argue against that mate. Ftts have been around for years for good reason 😉
My HW 110 hates them. tried to zero them and they were all over the place. I'll stick with JSB's
@@dennisreid4428 My 99s loves them. I think springers like a harder pellet and pcp's
a softer lead, also FFT's are shorter and may not like being magazine loaded.
@@dennisreid4428 my best mate I go shooting with he has the HW100 and 110 and he doesn’t like them at all,or should I say his HW don’t like them
Very disappointed in those. I use the .22 Dead Center and they have proved to be very good. Great review as always, cheers, Woody.
Hi mate, have your.22 got any batch codes on the tins? I also pulled out the papery disc from the lid of these incase it was hidden, but nothing obvious🤔
It was a fun test as it kept me on my toes but very disappointed with the results
Those pellets are the same shape as AirArms Diabolo field domed pellets, and they have been that shape for. long time now, decades.
How often are you cleaning the barrel? I'm finding that if the barrels not spotless it just won't group. Where as my wolverine R has never been cleaned and groups way better.
The xti from new needed pretty regular cleaning for the first couple tins and settled down lovely after that. I do end up cleaning it regularly now though as I'm often bunging all sorts of junk pellets through it😆
With my usual heavies ill probably give it a quick pull through every tin of so😉
Don't forget to spend some time making accurate stripper adjustments aswell.
Did you try resizing the pellets ?
Barracuda 8 much cheaper and are great in my HW100
I use heavies in my Ghost, Red Wolf and Wolverine R, I’ve given up chasing pellets lol😂
H&N are really picking up a huge amount of new customers of late mate. It's great for the sport and the competition between brands should help push development forward and more aggressive pricing.
@@tillysgunstocks they are a fair bit harder than JSB and suffer less from potential damage
are you using JSB heavies in the red wolf, i shoot the same and on a mission to find the right pellet for it?
@@ianyanto123 I’ve tried several and find them the best. I shoot on an outside range and they are the least wind affected
Hi mate, have the .22 got batch codes on the tins ? Have you ever measured any?
No batch codes as far as I can see. I didn't bother measuring them as i could feel the size was inconsistent as I fed them up the spout. Won't be buying anymore.
How do you rate the accuracy of the Nate chrony?
They're well calibrated mate, I've also not missed a single shot (of the tons of strings I've done) even on the stuff with a harsh muzzle blast.
I did bend it all up in the side pocket of my bag a while back, just tweaked it all back straight and it's still spot on 😆
@ good to know I just bought one. Reads 10 fps higher than my LMBR which I used to think was my “accurate” chronograph. Just does my nut in just want to be legal so probably best to stick with the Nate I guess?
Any dome shape should just slide in easy as.
Hi great vid as normal ,who is that pellet gauge made by?
They're made by field target shop in Lithuania mate. It's my mate audrius who makes them. He makes all my hardware for me too 😀
@@tillysgunstocks cheers do you have a link
Well. Watching this with rifle and pellets. I think I will stick with old Hatsan.??.
Tommy, that same profile with the band below the head had been used by Jsb approx 2006, they were the worst pellets out of the factory. Completely unusable in anything I had but wonder if the die had been sold on?
At x 25yds with that gun should be perfect ?? If a gun can`t shoot x 100yds + , they are NOT worth Having, just as well throw a stick ??
Not exactly radical, h&n did it with the sniper first. But in my experience, these style of pellets tend to be a little more tolerant of higher speeds, which can prove useful for hunting.
They are similar to the sniper and lights. But they had the elongated section behind a flat on the rear of the head. Similar to a jsb heavy .177 head. These have a standard ISH head shape with a taper to its rear and the elongated section is sacrificing skirt flare length😉
Not quite sure about that, I tried them in a M16 and they were terrible.
💯
£15 for air rifle pellets? You can get a box of .357 magnum for that, let alone 200 .22lr.
I'll stick to my jsbs thanks
Yeah same 😉
Those cuts in the pellets are far too deep, I recon its affecting the stability of the pellet whilst spinning, try " sizing " them down, preferably in increments, apart from that, I was expecting excellence straight out the tin, fantastic testing, there's 1000's relying on you with this one, don't mind paying £17 a tin, even if it means doing a little alteration ( sizing ) to get top notch accuracy..
Interesting you say that, as I've got further through the tin a few of the pellets have similar light ring marks around the heads as you occasionally see on h&n pellets.🤔
The sizing though is not ideal through this tin
Doesnt shoot like quality ammo
@@tillysgunstocks with my testing only did 30 yards..so I would.nt no wat 50 yard groups would be..did them in daystate..hw100...s410..s510...ghost...vulcan..vixen....
Tried these 2 or 3 weeks back, TI50, not impressed, random grouping, flyers, may suit other barrels, maybe even the XTI 50 with some stripper adjustment, i even emailed JTS in 3 occasions to ask for the BC, no reply, so that speaks volumes, they either dont know or dont care, either way i wont be likely to buy another of their products!
*EDIT* XTI50, not TI50 (oops)
I doubt they'd tighten up with any rig tweeks mate. Them large ones are getting heavily deformed on loading. I'd need a toffee hammer to bash em in the 9015 factory barrel 😆
You noticed the little ring around the top the heads on some?
They're not living up to the youtube Hype. No thank you. I'll take fifteen hundred econ 2s please 😂
Best budget pellets ever made mate.wise choice 😉
Wow those rifling groves were very heavy. Not great pellets.
I've done enough vids now with those barrels we can all see they are known good barrels and all very accurate in their own rights eh. I don't think I've ever seen such a broad spread in size.. ever 🤔
@@tillysgunstocks shocking really. For that price range too.
Once again , price is not a determining factor of quality .
What does "2 Syds" mean on your target paper?? LOLOLOL
Pmsl... Don't forget I'm a cackhanded lefty.. I shoot right handed though... 25yds🫣
@@tillysgunstocks I know. I was just funnin' with you. Although, come to think of it, it would be cool to start measuring airgun shooting distances in 'Syds'. One Syd would be 10 yards, 2 Syds - 20 yards, etc. etc. etc...
"Say, how far away was that varmint?"
"Ohh, about 3 Syds."
Hahahaaaaa
A😘💕👍👍
Wow, what a waste of time and money, was going to try them, decided I would stay with JSB/H&N
I can't disagree after trying these mate. If youve not tried the Brazilian pellets yet they were great fun and they (in my barrels atleast) were mega in the wind.😉
Thsts really disappointing. I've been using the. 22 for over a year and had really fantastic results in both my .22 rifles. I was waiting to see the .177s become available, but this has inspired me to look elsewhere.
Have you measured any by chance mate of the .22? Do the .22 have batch codes on them?
Get a dia make ya own.😂
expensive junk !!! 😅
Yeah you lot all best watch the video twice now to replenish the channel budget after these ones 😆😆
Gotta say though, I was very disappointed. Especially at the price point ☹️
As with most things it's just marketing nonsense. Like new improved toothpaste with added zingsmileflash!
Not very good for a "premium " pellet, I'll give them a miss, 😂👍
Looks like expensive rubbish.
Not worth the price. Or qa is shit as well.😂
Odd, i'm still paying 9.50 in the states. JTS and AEA are the best
