I love watching these older heavy equipment restarts. I just wish I could see them refurbished and made to look and work like new again. It's just how I like seeing such projects. Thumbs Up!
This makes me so happy!!! I just got a 1959 MF35 started yesterday.. I for sure it was a seal in the fule injection pump. Nope it had a blown head gasket.. I ran her like a dag today and she didn't skip a beat..... I love old stuff...
Ran one of these for 15 years. A shear head for 10 then a saw head for 5. Cut alot of wood. I felt more secure in it than I did a 4 wheel cutter. The way you could turn was like a zero turn mower.
Actually i like so much to see these kind of old vehicles get started by this amazing talent team... Specially i hat off all of your effort to restart old machines..
How 'bout cha good buddy. Fun video, always loved getting old machines running. Last one I helped with was dad's old D6-9U Cat. Need to finish up that tractor one of these days, but kind of hard to get back to Kansas other than during harvest times.
Hank, you and wiley came up with a very, very, good ideal..Both of you have been going to the nursing homes/senior citizens centers to get you some free labor workers to help you both out..Good ideal...
This video takes me back to being a young boy in the 70s growing up in Gordon Alabama...about 20 miles south of Dothan Alabama. My grandpa had a land clearing business. He had a Cat D5 Dozier, a John Deere 350 Dozier, a John Deere 550 Dozier & other equipment, trucks & low-boy trailers. In the summer's I would get to go on jobs with him & my uncles. When they had to work on a piece of equipment, I would always get in the way, my grandpa would take me to the other side of whatever they were working on, give me a couple of wrenches & tell me to try loosening a certain nut & bolt...something he knew I'd never break it loose, tear up, or hurt myself on & he knew I'd be out of the way until they were through with what they were working on. Looking back now...it's funny, but when I was 9 yrs old in 1978, I WAS NOTHING BUT BUSINESS AT WHATEVER MY GRANDPA SHOWED ME TO WORK ON!!! Much love from Mobile Alabama.
Didn't see you measure the H. oil level - might be low indeed. Or the pump isn't turning well. I suspect there is a lever in the cab that enables controls.
I remember a guy cut a tract that adjoined my father’s land in the late 90’s. He cut 17 loads a day with a Hydro-Ax 221 with the shear head. He had a Prentice 210C loader & John Deere 548G.
I totally know what ya mean- one mans trash is another man treasure, and that’s a good thing. Otherwise ,how would us po’ boys ever own any ‘new ‘ stuff?? 🤣🤣 ( new to me is anything built after 1980....) I may be some dumb, but I ain’t plumb dumb!🤣🤣🏴
where i live there used to be 4 or 5 abandoned road graders sitting in a row at the edge of a tree line..they were there many years until the land was sold to build more houses so i guess they got hauled off..but i bet you could have had a field day with those.
our john deer has that issue. i put a toggle switch on the pump. but some times it works normal and some times you need to give it power. there is shut off solinode so it the tractor over heats it shuts down. they go bad. should be right were the house goes into the top input of the motor. I've replace ours and it last for about a year they starts doing the bs again.
You got ta get yourself an ol alluminum or stainless fire extinguisher and a tire valve stem fitting fill it up with diesel fuel , eliminates all stinging critters, lubes rusty bolts , all kinds of stuff
Old diesel engines love heat. Light a diesel soaked rag son and move for the stuff a blowing. Back in high school we had an old bus engine that would not start with out heat. Great video.
That horrible sound of a dying battery, when y’all out in the woods!🤣🤣🏴 ( how close can I get my truck, with jumper cables)? We all bin there fellas!👌
@@HamiltonvilleFarm done this sorta thing many times in the highlands of Scotland- glad I’m not alone! Last one was an old O and K backhoe crawler, filled her up with veg oil from the fryers in the local pub,she smelled like scampi n chips as I rode her outta there, proud as punch!👌🏴 another good tip is,connect 2 batteries up,24 volts on a 12 volt system, she’ll crank pretty good, but don’t get greedy!🤣🤣 anyone else out there do this? ( answers in the comments) crNk her up but GoOd ! 🤪
you should clear all those small trees out of the way so you can drain the battery compartment refuel the hydraulics and possibly move it out of it's place.
How do people find machines like that ? I noticed a lot of videos about equipment left someplace for decade or two maybe more ! And I just don't see why someone would leave so many machines out and about those things cost some money to be leaving some place like that in my opinion.

Excellent video Hank :) also crew also that Battery is one should be using for starting up High Way Tractor Transport trucks & Old Fire Department trucks also on gas or deisel fuel motor on heavy duty equipment! Those batteries are like 2 batteries of 12 volts in 24 or 48 voltage Positive or Negative Grounds system and be surprised how they do ! They may cost lots money but save troubles too in long and boosting them faster too! My father had on in his Highway Tractor Trucks plus 1968 60 hp & 1978 72 hp Desiel motor farm tractors and 1968 combine too and fire up always even minus 40' F temperature also hot temperatures over plus 108 'F ! Also bet big Red Branson Tractor has it too there over 1000 Cold Cranks amps also last long time of 6 to 10 years and lots discharging and recharge battery too! Also Hank should not cut belts of Alternator or Generator because got recharge battery when Cranks over and give power to starting on the starter motor too especially computer types to! Recognize sensitive sensors even electric fuel pump ! Also Hank for Lol you going have Auction Sale anytime soon because of all vechiles starting up should have one and tell Auctioneer how work too also need so buyers know!

Has it ever broke down or stopped running?
The joystick controls work in conjunction with 12 volt solenoids to make the arms and head move I think depends on the year of the machine also.
Thanks 👍
Nice job getting it started. Did he say it has been sitting there for 10 years at end of video? How do you find these vintage machinery? 🇺🇸🚜👍
