My favorite Phil Keaggy song. Just beautiful!!! Both playing makes such a rich harmony. I agree with Chris Ducat "Michelangelos on the guitar"! AMEN to that! Really Really enjoyed this!
Superbly, for All Hearts concerned. Just got off work and going for more work, just needed some music and food, hospice nurses , all of us have to DO now. Many Thanks,
I count myself fortunate to have seen Phil live on several occasions in small settings & even to visit briefly with him. I’m at a loss for words in my thoughts of this humble brother & equally at a loss considering his talent. This is likely one of my all-time favorite songs.
I just want to know how can a guy playing this intricately can look up and smile, the piece is so wonderfully intense. Thank you Lord for creating Phil Keaggy! In no way meant to put this song down at all but this would be wonderful to sleep to.
What a blessing to accidentally stumble upon such talent. In such testing times and self-isolation, I really look forward to lying on the grass, looking at the blue skies and cloud, listening to this, thinking about my God, talking to Him and pondering how heaven is going to be like.
Words aren't necessary in response to this comment... I can see why no one else could think of anything to say. So, thank you, kindred spirit, 💗😇😍💗, I have really nothing to say as well....
Gosh I used to listen to Phil Keaggy as a teenager, to listen and hear him play now, he sounds better than ever! I love the gentleness and depth and dreaminess of this piece, pure genius
I have always thought this to be one of thee most beautiful songs ever written. I'm glad I got to see Phil play 35 years ago; a really blessed musician and man. Praise God!
Two master craftsmen , who have developed their God given talent, giving us a glimpse into the music of eternity ,I truely think. I have a mind picture of God smiling as He hears this , I want to smile with Him !
I could never play this well...However, every time I hear Phil Keaggy play his acoustic...I want to pick up my acoustic and just play anything at my level of playing. So inspirational! Thanks for sharing.
I know I'm bragging a little but in 1987 right after this CD came out he came to Bay City Tx. and performed in a very small venue. I was invited by a friend who was a fellow musician to the show. He was awesome! The next day he came to Lake Jackson and did a show with his electric (Strat). Afterwards we invited him to our studio in Richwood Tx. and to our surprise he accepted. The friend who invited me (Fred Martindale ) was doing an album at the time and he asked Phil if he would put down a guitar track on one of his tunes and he said he would. He was there about an hour and a half and finally got the take he wanted so Fred has Phil on one of his tunes which I was lucky enough to play drums and bass on. This session was recorded on video which I still have a copy of. He also gave me a copy of "The Wind and the Wheat" and I forgot to get him to sign it. What a great night in July of 1987.
Hi. Mike. Wonderful upload. Fantastic sound, professional performance. Congratulations. It was a pleasure to listen. Great like. Greetings of friends. Laca
Mike! So nice to see you and PhiL. I swear, as a 2nd grader I got to see Phil play with the Glass Harp at a church on top of 213 around Pleasant Hills fire house when "I found it" was going on. I could be wrong. I was too young to know better. I knew there was a reason I like your stuff! Ty Tabor is also a big Phil fan!
Wow. Phil Keagy is an amazing and inspirational guitarist and this is one his best instrumentals. This duet is really special. Now I have new guitarist to check out. Luv and Peace,
Man, I'm sorry but what the heck does Phil being a Christian have to do with anything? That's such a lame ass comment even though I agree he's a wonder. It's like saying Hakeem Olajuwan is "one of the very few great Muslim basketball players... see how incredibly ignorant that sounds?
@@pputnam100 Its just because lots of Christian music isn't as good as some other more popular music I guess. It's not because he's Christian it's just cause of the music that he plays. Sorry if I'm doing a bad job at explaining.
@@pputnam100 I make contemporary Christian music myself and I have to say "And So It Goes" is making a point. In our scene, musical excellence is not the major point that unites us, and thus not a thing everybody strives towards. I had the privilege of producing a Phil Keaggy concert at Cedar Ridge Community Church in Spencerville, MD in 1999, just after “Inseparable” had come out. Phil is just as sweet as the music that flows through him. He played for 2 1/2 hours without a break, and then stayed for another hour visiting with the audience. He spent a bit of time with a teenage aspiring guitarist, listening to him play and giving him a few pointers. Just an amazing man.
@@MPfrance you can tell the feeling is mutual. Phil clearly enjoys playing with you, and I can see and hear why. You two played exactly alike for much of the song and created an amazing sound and feel. Double tracking never sounded like this.
A wonderful rendition of this masterpiece of music, Well done Mike and Phil. March 23, 2018... get to see Phil tonight on his birthday. Bringing a couple of new fans with me.
Yes. I saw him in Carlsbad. Good to see Paul Clark and Bryan Duncan as well. Hung around a bit afterwards and met Phil briefly. He signed a couple of CD's I had. Time 1 and 2. Should have had him sign the Live at Kegworth that I had just purchased too. But I was content with the 2.
I'm trying to learn this song, after like 10 years having heard it. Lol it's such a wonderful song. Don't listen to it when you sleep, because you'll be inspired to get up and play guitar! 👀
Bought the wind and the wheat release when 1st introduced....this is my favorite Keaggy tune and it's great to see it flawlessly executed live....Wow...
Great performance! Thanks for sharing. I just heard you play for the first time (that I know of) yesterday, Mike. I have been a Keaggy fan for 40 years. Sorry I missed your playing for so long!
The pinnacle. I am so grateful to have witnessed such a blessed collaboration. What a wonderful achievement. This must have mindblowing in person. Still, I feel lucky... and proud too. Thanks for this
Both are extremely talented. Though I do not know Phil personally I have always believed him to be a humble man of God and one of the best guitarists today. Mike I met at a music store in Tampa bought a cd from the him at his car. Very cool guy as well. Winters Visit.... great leads and harmony’s.
You're worthy to be sitting next to Phil Mike. This is my introduction to you, and what a thrill to see that it's playing one of Phil's most beautiful songs. Well done! "liked" "subscribed", and "shared". :)
Truly Awesome, in the way the word was intended to be: awe-inspiring. Your joint "County Down" performance at this concert was a real thrill too, btw: my all-time favorite acoustic song, one of Keaggy's finest moments.
I've heard this so many times! Endless pleasure. Never gets old. I've heard most of the great known guitarists playing the music of the masters, but few touch what Phil does. It's not flawless technical composition, it's music of the soul for the soul.
Nothing like this. Period. The most "underrated" guitarist of all time. Phil is a humble and gentle man. Highly unusual for someone with his talent.
