I still blame the FEDs for this, because in the end they benefit by either buying off the failed banks cheaper or something. The fed can print credit as long as someone will borrow it into existence, but they cannot print product (or production).
People are going through real life crisis, think now isn't a time to point fingers. Everyone should always be prepared for the unexpected to happen. That is how randomness works.
Thank you guys! Always insightful to listen to Simon’s scenarios which many of them unfold as laid out. With regular adjustments, I find them very useful. Ofcourse timing is difficult if not impossible, but the logic, the cues, are clear. Excellent reminder of some of the stuff going on in the world. Not sure about Simon’s timing for this year but next year will be worse than this year.
In January, Simon claimed that in June we would experience mass inflation. So I’m a bit sceptical these days on his predictions.

Assuming Simon's predictions come true we're in for at least seven to ten years of horrendous destabilization, wars, death, market collapse and the end of finance capitalism and the dollar as the world reserve currency into a transition to a multipolar global governance and a productive country again. The ending sounds enlightening but no one can predict the out come of war.

Simon has been a doom sayer for some time. His problem is his forecasts are based on fundamentals and his reasoning is sound but the world works on speculation, geopolitics and political manipulation. As a result it's impossible to time things.

Yes I have been following him for a while. His prognosis is pretty sound but timing is everything. I am preparing....... but don’t expect collapse in the 2 nd half of this year. Next year could be a different story. Simon is a sharp geopolitical animal but he may be a year or two ahead of the game...........

He's also sorta ignoring a lot of basic, but significant, things such as China's demographic problems, or China's (and the rest of the world's) reliance on US patrolled shipping lanes.

Just because these experts are late doesn’t mean they are wrong. I am on the brink now of buying a bigger freezer to hold only protein (mostly red meats as I expect local chicken farms, though expensive, will stay afloat) and will be installing an emergency generator, propane driven, later this year. One third of my wealth is now in non bank physical and out of my tax jurisdiction. I don’t believe what Simon says is definitely going to happen nor do I believe it’s going to happen 2nd half of the year as the US Administration will do ANYTHING to stop a collapse before November. However, I firmly believe 2025 could be a bad year. Simon’s scenario will be increasing in likelihood as each year goes by........ and that’s the key point here. Ignore at your own peril.

I've been listening to these guys for over 10 years they are almost always wrong. I love how they all still try to convince me of how powerful Russia and China are 😂. But I did stack a bunch of gold and silver over that time because I believe something bad will happen. Even a broken clock is right 2 times everyday.
I listened to two conversations today:
1) Daniela Cambone and Ted Provenza
2) Commodity Culture and Simon Hunt
The first conversation was... chaotic, the host had no control over the conversation at all, and the guest was... "unbalanced"
The second conversation is content, at the highest substantive level.

Simon is a pessimist about the immediate future and he may be EARLY, but it would be foolish to assume he is just another doom sayer. He has a lot of sense and experience.

I recall hearing his predictions from one year ago talking about stuff like this happening in 2024 already. I don't think any of his stuff has happened. Be careful who and what you believe.

What happened to Mr. Hunt’s prediction of a market crash in April of this year? I don’t see a crash, does he? Now he is predicting a recession in the second half of this year, together with cyber attacks etc. None of this will happen and next year he will continue to predict like nothing happened. This industry is like a comedy club. These interviews should always start with the question: “How did your previous predictions do?”

You really ought to stop telling people to hold gold. Where will the gold brick sit? You cannot keep it in a safe deposit box. That has been forbid. Keep it at home? You’d be nuts. They will come for it, even if they have to saw off your arm with a handsaw. You would NOT be safe. Do you think “they” wouldn’t know? Don’t worry, they will know. The place you buy it from will leak that info. Buy gold in a fund? Ha! You will never see it or get the benefit of it. And what little gold people will have “they will throw in the street” for it will buy you NOTHING. Central Bank Digital Currency will be the only way to get food and eventually, the AI controlling it will demand you take HIS mark or die. Let’s see who survives.
