-------------------------------
FAQ:
1. Can I drive my car without the cluster?
A: Yes, if you have to run out in the middle of this, you can drive your panther vehicle just fine.
2. Can I use any color LEDs?
A: Yes, as long as they are the "3528 SMD" style LEDs.
3. If I replace my cluster, will the mileage still be correct?
A: No. The mileage is stored on the cluster itself. If you replace it, the mileage shown will be whatever the replacement cluster has
4. Can I install a message center cluster in my P71/non message center panther?
A: Yes! It's fairly easy. There are write ups online on the swap.
5. Can I change the color of the message center/odometer?
A: Short answer, NO. Long answer, YES. It is a VFD style display. The color is green/blueish, and cannot be changed. You CAN cut the green film out of your gauge faces and replace it with other colors. I personally don't like this, as the cut never really looks flush, or of OEM quality.
6. Can I swap a Crown Vic cluster in my Grand Marquis (or any other combination)?
A: Yes - kind of. Vic to MGM or vice versa works fine. Town Car does not. The HVAC canbus is tied into the cluster and will cause your AC not to work, BUT if your AC already doesn't work, go right ahead and swap one in!
-------------------------------
Tools needed after the cluster is out of your car:
1. Soldering iron (with a fine/flat tip)
2. Solder
3. "3528 SMD" LEDs
4. Some sort of tweezers are my preferred tool to hold the LED chips in place
5. (Not absolutely necessary) Heat gun or hair dryer

Question. What did you use to get power to the wire harness of the cluster when you are working on it out of the car? Thanks for the great tutorial!
Brian! My Dude! You are a total help! Between you and the CVNET forum I am confident I will be able to get my odometer working again on my P7B. I was like how am I going to get these needles off and board out. Your tip on it feels like you are breaking them. So accurate! Your video also inspires me to do a LED swap. For your power supply setup are you just running power and ground? Thanks man!

I have a 06 chrysler 300c and the gauge illumination is completely different it doesn't use bulbs it uses electroluminescent.. I bought red 12volt el plates from ebay removed the oem el plate and cut the red ones to shape and attached them into the stock spots was a bit challenging but turned out amazing..

Have you used a hot air soldering station gun and flux to change them . They are really great for working on boards.
How much you charge to make one for the public ? I would love one in all red.
How close is the process for an 03-04 Mercury Marauder gauge cluster?.. (silver face gauge cluster with a tachometer)🍺
👍👍👍
Hello Brian, I am in desperate need of a cluster with the big display. I have a 2008 crown vic, civilian model. Do you have any idea where can I buy one, maybe you know. Thank you.
do they sell the same color green that the factory backlighting is but just brighter? i like the factory green color, it's just a little too dim sometimes.
What color will display screen/message center be without the green film ?
What wires in the harness do you use to power the cluster in out of car. ? What's the diagram?
What DC adapter you use to fire on the cluster?
What state are you in I would like to Abe someone do mine
Is there a digital dash that will work with a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis? Would late 90s ones work?
Is it possible to remove the green tint over the message center?
⭐Answer is in DESCRIPTION
Well thought I wanted to change mine but fuck that I'd rather mail u mine 😆
So this has nothing to do with the twist in style backlight
Can i change digital cluster for an analog one .
I personally hate the digital, what do i have to do to change it.
Thanks
I want to do the opposite, switch my analog for a digital dash.

@@Hopeful_Libertarian i hate the digital its all green 🤢
@@samuum6118 I wish I knew how to do this. Let me look it the steps. I'd like to have the digital to modernize my car & I really liked the mid-late 90s digital dashes.
I'll take a picture of mine.
Hi can you put LEDs in my cluster
Is it the same for a 03 vic
What's the part number
I would like to buy
As for recalibrating the needles the process shown in this video done on an f150 works the same for panthers I’ve done it on my crown Vic multiple times and it works great needles are always 100% accurate afterwards ruclips.net/video/wprhsDXf4Fo/видео.html
