The arcade is still the real deal here. The only real port that's a more fulfilled adaptation is the SMS one. But C64 deserves a mention due to its great soundtrack. The European computers suffers always with a missing channel for noise waves; SID chip, despite the missing sound design feature, is the real winner here.

a lazy (rushed) Amiga port of the Atari ST verson if the Sega Master System port (version) didn't sell as well as Sega had anticipated or expected it makes sense Sega didn't port or they didn't want Dynamite Dux on the Genesis/Mega-Drive

Ah! I still remember the myth about a secret level that can be accessed by jumping on Colonel Sanders' head right at the start. The Master System is capable of much more. Rather than making it as easy as the arcade, the difficulty should have been cranked up.

@@jasonlee7816 This happened a lot... The Amiga had the laziest arcade ports of all time as a whole.. I mean outrun was even better on SMS but genesis version just annihilated it (and it wasn't even that good on Genesis but at least was playable).. But occasionally, just occasionally, a developer would care about the product and treat the Miggy with the respect she deserved and we got fantastic ports. New Zealand story, RodLand are perfect examples. Rainbow Islands was wonderful and so on.
Things like Shinobi could have been brilliant on the Amiga, same with Rolling thunder, but they were put into the hands of half arsed western devs with fast release schedules. They turned out so bad it's beyond laughable.

They sacrificed the colours for full screen scrolling, they'd have had to cut the viewing area to 15-rows to leave cpu time to copy colours per tile as well. That's why everything is grey, black, green or yellow and they used sprites for the hud.
Technically fairly impressive at the expense of a better looking game!
