@heavymetal999 The other thing is that I am in the U.S. I need to hear an individual cymbal before I will buy it, and not many shops carry Meinl. Cats like Benny Greb and Chris Adler are bringing some good attention to Meinl though, so hopefully we will see more of their cymbals here in the states. Cheers!
@heavymetal999 Thanks heavymetal! Meinl does have some great cymbals, and I might explore some of them someday soon. Right now, I've got a full compliment of Zildjian A's and K's. This drummer is top-notch though huh? Meinl chose wisely to get him to represent their cymbals.
Hey Meinl... bring the Classics china splashes back into regular production please. Those are what even got me interested in this series. Very unique and cool sounding FX cymbals
Empresa Meinl, Que pasó con esta mítica serie Classics del logo egipcio? Por qué lo descontinuaron? Y que tenía de especial su fabricación qué superaba a todos sus competidores en aleación b8?
@crazy8sdrums i agree on the ride, but i think that the crashes and splashes sound good. For the ride, I'd recommend the MCS 20", that is a brilliant ride in my opinion, if you're looking for cymbals just between £50-£100
p.s. also love that 10" mini hat and that 8" china splash... both sound great. can anyone tell which crash is which? I think the 16" crash is the one over by the ride. And then the 18" is directly in front of his snare, and then the 17" is to HIS left of that one. Hard to tell tho when there is only an inch or 2 difference between the three...
From the description of the M series video: the drums are yamaha phx series. 20 x 18 kickdrum 10 and 12 racktoms 14 and 16 floortoms 13 x 6.5 ralf gustke signature birch snaredrum 12 x 5.5 oak snaredrum
@TtotixX Well ive never seen it done before, I wanted to know why, like usually you hold it higher up for the fulcrum, I am trying to see how he has a fulcrum holding it so low, just wanting to learn something really m8.
@REDMAX777 depends of you,of your sticks...and of the mixing obiouvsly! ;) that's a really clean and technical music, wich make look like the cymbals "cleaner" too.Sorry for my english but I'm italian ^^"
I have meinl classic series hi-hats and I love em. Eventually I'd like to get some more meinl cymbals, but im a poor college kid and have a franken-kit as far as cymbals go...someday.
anyone who has these, or played them, would you recommend then? i'd love to not pay a fortune right now when i just need some to get by..I'm getting Byzance later down the road though.
I'm actually a big fan of this line. LOVE THE PWERUL RIDE!!! OMG ITS ONE OF THE BEST CYMBALS PERIOD. The matching hats are terriffic. dont care for the crashes or the chinas. i liek the little effect cymbals but find them lacking in versitility. great Playing btw. Is that a PDP platinum set? it sounds killer. You are very talented in your art. Keep rockin!
One of the 2 crashes to the left side sounds great, the 2nd one clockwise, is that the 18 inch powerfull or the 17inch medium? i dont know wich one is wich, theyre both about the same size. . .
Does someone know which snare he plays? It looks like an Oak X or an Oak Custom Snare, but definitely it is not his Signature Snare. It sounds AMAZING!!!
No, these cymbals are made from an alloy between the B8 and B10, so that's why they sound better than B8's . And the sound in this video is compressed and EQ'd, but I need to say that these cymbals still sound good
Check out the Meinl cymbals chosen by new band member Liam in Last Breath's music video! Please share, like, tweet, leave a comment !!! It's the featured video ("Under Her Control") on the LastBreathRock youtube channel !! Enjoy!!
Can someone say what bells pitches are used in this video? There are high, medium, and low pitches available but it was not specified in the cymbals list.
@crazy8sdrums Zildjian cymbals are really nice, they sound great live. But this may sound weird, the reason why i chose meinl over zildjian or sabian is because i wanted something unique. You see all the pro drummers playing with zildjian or sabian cymbals, and they seem all the same. Meinl have a unique sound to them, sounds you wouldn't get with other cymbal brands. And yeah, that drummer has a brilliant style.
It says (RMV) on the drum heads. Look it up! the drums are clearly yamaha drums. Just look at the logo on the kit and the lug design! Looks like the PHX series by yamaha :P Peace out!
@MultiDrummerboy24 I was just wondering what do you about odd time signatures? I checked the bands you covered and they must have some weird stuff that you can't count 1-2-3-4 on.
It's quite alright. But yes, I totally agree. There are quite a few good cymbals out there that are B8! It's not the alloy, it's the way it's made. Matt Nolan makes some killer B8's, B10's, and B15's even.
love the splashes (bought the 8" and the 10") and crashes up tu 17" (bought 16" and 17"), and the 18" china (wowww)... hihats and rides don't sound nearly as good as others in the same price range from paiste, sabian or zildjian. The 16" and 17" medium crashes mixed with Zildjian K's 17" and 18"... perfect! (for me).
It says on their website B8. But yes, put any B8 next to a Classic and the Classic will sound better to most people I'm sure. They're good cymbals for the price and how they are made!
@josephvenenga I never said that B8s and ZBTs can't sound good. If you ask me every cymbal can sound good given the musical situation. I was just saying that the Meinl Classics (which are a B8 alloy) are more pleasing to the ear than Sabian B8s. In my opinion, anyways.
@GrazianoDrummer dude if you havent chosen yet go to your local guitar center and try both out and btw.... get the meinl they are way better its 250 for 14" hats 16" med. crash 20" ride and a free 14" filter china thats the way to go
Awesome drumming with awesome cymbals..... Meinl classics 👌👌🔥🤘
Anyone noticed how good Ralf is? This guys is amazing! So much feel and great technique!
I've never heard of the guy, but he's fantastic!
Cheers!
THEESE are some of the cheaper cymbals and they sound awesome
they do actually! Very musical!
No, the Classics are a B8 alloy if I'm not mistaken.
That splash is gorgeous! Love me a good splash
I'm in love with the sound of the Chinas!
Hey Meinl... bring the Classics china splashes back into regular production please. Those are what even got me interested in this series. Very unique and cool sounding FX cymbals
Empresa Meinl, Que pasó con esta mítica serie Classics del logo egipcio? Por qué lo descontinuaron? Y que tenía de especial su fabricación qué superaba a todos sus competidores en aleación b8?
Paiste PST5 and Meinl Classics are the kings of good sounding lowcost cymbals!
And the meinl mcs?
@crazy8sdrums i agree on the ride, but i think that the crashes and splashes sound good. For the ride, I'd recommend the MCS 20", that is a brilliant ride in my opinion, if you're looking for cymbals just between £50-£100

god those bells, splashes and china are to die for!
@isawasqurielonce they're all meinl classics in this video and i think its either the 16" or 17" medium crash
From the description of the M series video:
the drums are yamaha phx series.
20 x 18 kickdrum
10 and 12 racktoms
14 and 16 floortoms
13 x 6.5 ralf gustke signature birch snaredrum
12 x 5.5 oak snaredrum
Insanely good Sound, both cymbals and drums! :o
at 0:52 you can see what I believe is a yamaha logo on the rack toms, correct me if I'm wrong.
Im lovin the splashes,8" bells--& the mini hats--all just my style
wish i could drum like this dude lol
@TtotixX Well ive never seen it done before, I wanted to know why, like usually you hold it higher up for the fulcrum, I am trying to see how he has a fulcrum holding it so low, just wanting to learn something really m8.
@REDMAX777 depends of you,of your sticks...and of the mixing obiouvsly! ;) that's a really clean and technical music, wich make look like the cymbals "cleaner" too.Sorry for my english but I'm italian ^^"
amazing playing
@MeetYourMaker89 The Trashformer sound enticing, but it all depends on what kind of music you play, and what line of Meinl or Zildijian they are
Those bells sound incredible
I have meinl classic series hi-hats and I love em. Eventually I'd like to get some more meinl cymbals, but im a poor college kid and have a franken-kit as far as cymbals go...someday.
I love that snare
beautiful
I like the splash sitting by the ride.
anyone who has these, or played them, would you recommend then?
i'd love to not pay a fortune right now when i just need some to get by..I'm getting Byzance later down the road though.

@RockHardTeam
Yamaha PHX. They sound amazing!
One of the 2 crashes to the left side sounds great, the 2nd one clockwise, is that the 18 inch powerfull or the 17inch medium? i dont know wich one is wich, theyre both about the same size. . .
Those bells sound fuckin amazing... and the splashes!
Does someone know which snare he plays? It looks like an Oak X or an Oak Custom Snare, but definitely it is not his Signature Snare. It sounds AMAZING!!!
It's sounds AMAZING!!!! :)
Wow... that is impressive.
@gtrocksyosocks
but this series is more paired with like b8 pro or apx. meinl HCS is like sabians b8
wonderful cymbals and price....I thought they were the top meinl class...
Awesome...
@howycwap Well yeah, I totally agree, but these cymbals are made from a B8 alloy.
Awesome drumming.
I like Ralf's playing the best:) I mean from all the people that perform on these video's
AMAZIN also look at the classics customs.
No, these cymbals are made from an alloy between the B8 and B10, so that's why they sound better than B8's . And the sound in this video is compressed and EQ'd, but I need to say that these cymbals still sound good
What's that snare?
Sounds amazing!

what do u guys think
these or the sabian xs20's?
Can someone say what bells pitches are used in this video? There are high, medium, and low pitches available but it was not specified in the cymbals list.
the 8" classics china splash is where its at!
Can someone explain why it looks like he's holding the very bottom of the stick?
The dude has chops!
i am buying the Meinl classics Medium Crash 16" next week
@gtrocksyosocks
so is b8 pro and apx
is the 20" crash on here? if not, someone should make a video for it! :) thanks
Which drum heads are these? They sounds excelent.
in a few weeks, i am going to buy me the 10" splash, 12" china and 18" china. how good are these cymbals ?
@crazy8sdrums Zildjian cymbals are really nice, they sound great live. But this may sound weird, the reason why i chose meinl over zildjian or sabian is because i wanted something unique. And yeah, that drummer has a brilliant style.
@KemplandN Well if you were going to go with Sabian at all, i would suggest the AAX series. I personally use Z3's as my username implies. lol.
aite those hihats are baddazzz
@JVC7400 their so beautiful. i need em!
What kind of music is this in the background? I didn't like but i think it´s funny to play with this music.
@spiralaeon yamaha, and this is a meinl promo not an amateur
You sure? I thought the right hand side crash was the 16inch, and the 2 crashes on the left where the 17inch and the 18inch.
my fucking word this sounds AMAZING.
Which cymbals are better MCS or Classics ? dont know which i should buy as 18 crash 10 splash and maybee 16 or 14 china. Need Help?
Classics WAY BETTER!
MCS is kinda bigginer
Love the china splash
I have two Meinl classic bells. 8" High and an 8" Low
It says (RMV) on the drum heads. Look it up!
the drums are clearly yamaha drums. Just look at the logo on the kit and the lug design! Looks like the PHX series by yamaha :P
Peace out!
@MultiDrummerboy24 I was just wondering what do you about odd time signatures? I checked the bands you covered and they must have some weird stuff that you can't count 1-2-3-4 on.
They're Mapex Saturns. Look at the drum heads....Mapex logo
the classics logo reminds me of nile \M/
Does any one know the Heads This drummer is playing are they REMO clear or which Brand it is ?
Pretty sure those are RMV heads. Great, great heads!
Hello I know that has nothing to do with the video, but what is the miking you use this video please, thank you!
It's quite alright. But yes, I totally agree. There are quite a few good cymbals out there that are B8! It's not the alloy, it's the way it's made. Matt Nolan makes some killer B8's, B10's, and B15's even.
Awesome
Classics splashes are sexy, nuff said.
love the splashes (bought the 8" and the 10") and crashes up tu 17" (bought 16" and 17"), and the 18" china (wowww)... hihats and rides don't sound nearly as good as others in the same price range from paiste, sabian or zildjian.
The 16" and 17" medium crashes mixed with Zildjian K's 17" and 18"... perfect! (for me).
i have a few of this series, 22" Ride, 18" Crash, and 14" hats my crash cracked though.
Brazilian heads ! RMV !!!
which crashes are which in this video? i saw you listed the 3 sizes but where are they on the kit?
@MultiDrummerboy24 I really hope your new to drumming. I playing 6 notes per bar as opposed to 4 per bar
its not a mapex logo dude, its the rmv logo . . .rmv is a brazilian drumheadproducer . .the drumkit is a yamaha phx
@REDMAX777 also good beer an nice cars :-D
Great Pro :)
Its drumheads are from Brazil.
It says on their website B8. But yes, put any B8 next to a Classic and the Classic will sound better to most people I'm sure. They're good cymbals for the price and how they are made!
I thought they were b10 bronze.the mcs line is b8
what is the name of these Classics series because I found few others by same name? these one with logo instead of name classics?
i want that ride sounds better than that HHX grove ride or stage ride i want...
i think these are Meinl's version of Sabian B8's.. but MUCH better quality
For the price they are really great sounding cymbals but the other thing is that they break easy !
My name is Ralf too
@josephvenenga I never said that B8s and ZBTs can't sound good. If you ask me every cymbal can sound good given the musical situation. I was just saying that the Meinl Classics (which are a B8 alloy) are more pleasing to the ear than Sabian B8s. In my opinion, anyways.
And drumheads by RMV.
