I also built my own desk. it's like the Maestro but 1 rack width. I love it. I don't have to stretch my legs so I used all that space underneath for additional rack space for things like power conditioners. I also put a laptop holder that goes right against that flat spot like you pointed out on the Maestro.

I build my own desk, 1,5 mtr wide and holds 40 racks. Of which 25 are in arms reach. All cables routed through cable trays, power and audio separated and a analog console and controllers all built in.
    I couldn’t be happier ❤😊
Doing the last audio cables on the patchbay’s today 👌🏼

I built my own desk ;) It took me 2 weeks total but it worth it. I understand tho that most of the ppl have no space or enery and time to do that

I've had a platform by output for about 2.5 years, its ok but too much vacant desk space. So my new desk (when it materializes) on wait 16wks now will be the solo genesis from dangerfox. I think this will be the best for reduced reflection and hone on mastering with focused gear. (some gear won't fit the 8U configuration but that is already planned for a rack slightly to my right, which is elevated right to eye level.) I agree with the speakers to be on seperate stands as, prior on the platform, kind of limited there.

Maestro 36 owner here 👋🏼 I love the desk but you’re right, I had an Argosy desk before the M36 and the quality build is very noticeable but you also pay about 2k less for the Maestro desk. You’re also right about the front panel, but I have no plans on selling mine, those are noticeable issues but they don’t bother me at all.

I ended up buying a "simple" 2m x 1m regular desk (height adjustable). That way I have enough place for everything. I paid around 350 Bucks for it and I'm happy with it.

Do you have speaker stands that moves as well or do you physically have to move it when you want to stand?

I only do edits when I stand. No mixing. The speakers don’t move. Or I’ll use headphones

Studio desks can be a pain to get right, it can be very much trial and error, I’ve been through many. I’m currently using a well built office sit-stand desk and then for my gear I bought a couple of 4U desk top racks, that sit on the sides. It’s not ideal for the acoustics though.
