    Tony! I've run into you again. I was looking at the Weber Q last year and found your review...ended up buying one. Now I'm looking for a small griddle to take RVing and was looking for a review and here I am again. I snagged one of these at Walmart Online over the weekend. They go fast. Most the time they're out of stock. I get my tomorrow. Thanks for the great reviews! I'm now a subscriber.

      Hey Paul! Welcome back haha.. Im glad I was able to help once again! Your one of the lucky few who scored one online. People struggle to get there hands on one and they typically go store to store looking for it since the website isnt much help when determine stock at their local stores! Its an awesome price for what you get! I hope you are enjoying it!

    Thanks for info this is the best by far I would love to see them produce a electric one with grill top.

      @tonybuddy123  6 лет назад

      Thanks! I dont see them ever building an electric one since it wouldn't be cost effective for them but I could be wrong. I purchased an electric griddle that they use for small restaurants and hotels and I absolutely love it! I use it all the time when im either low on propane or the weather is bad. I will drop a link down below.

      Thanks! I did hear about it but idk if ill be purchasing it (who am I kidding I probably will haha!!). If its the same build quality as the 36" then I will pass. I am not impressed with the corners they cut on the 36" and im afraid they will do the same with the 50". Im happy with the Camp Chef FTG 900 though and have been using it since last year. It a 6 burner and comes in just under 46". I absolutely love it and use it the most out all the griddles I own. Ill be doing a review on that here soon!

    Great video, appreciate the size comparison shot. I notice you have a Weber Q, I have one also and am considering going to blackstone as cooking breakfast while camping is a pain with the Weber. It’s like trying to use an oven as a stovetop. My question is how do burgers and steaks taste off the blackstone vs. the Weber? Off the blackstone your basically cooking off a pan and no longer bbq’ing right? When cooking burgers and steaks do you bust out the Weber or go with the blackstone? Thanks.

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  6 лет назад +2

      Hey Dennis! This is actually a great question and I liked your analogy that you used. I love my Weber Q and I personally wouldn't get rid of it because it it can do things that the griddle cannot. The griddle is awesome but has its limits and in my opinion its hard to compare it to a standard BBQ like the weber q because I feel that its in a different category. I prefer burgers and breakfast on the griddle any day of the week but when it comes to THICKER steaks you would need to cook it on the bbq first then use the griddle to get that amazing sear on it. The griddle has its limits and your not really able to cook whole chickens or thick chicken breast without burning your food on the outside. That is why you see people cut up thicker meats to cook on the griddle.
      Im not saying you cant cook thicker cuts of meats on the griddle but it takes more practice to do so and most people would get upset with the learning curve because you would waste a lot of meat and time during this process. Steaks on the griddle are awesome and your able to treat it like a pan by letting them sit in their juices to add flavor. I like steaks on both the weber and griddle but I prefer to use both when cooking them. I dont cook burgers on the weber anymore unless im taking the weber on the boat. I prefer the weber when boating because I can easily transport it with the cart it sits on. The griddle needs to be put in a bag and its not as easy to set up like my weber. Plus the weber cools off faster then my griddle and this is a huge advantage when im taking it out for the day/evening.
      Long story short burgers on the griddle because it leaves an awesome crust on them like you get at a diner and it taste so much better then the weber. When it comes to cooking thicker steaks I prefer to use both. I hope I answered your question because I kind of went off on a tangent haha.. Sorry for the long response haha.. If you have any other questions please dont hesitate to ask.

    Hi there, enjoyed your video. I was gonna buy the 22 inch but no one here in Canada sells this size. They have the 17 inch and up griddles. I like this combo with the stand as well but I can't even find this stand for the 22 inch on the Blackstone site. So, I ended up ordering the 28 inch and it should be here next Wednesday. But I would like to order the 22 inch w/stand. Thanks for posting!

    I bought the Adventure ready 22" griddle last summer. The hose that comes with this does not work well with a 20lb tank. If you just turn it on like a normal grill it has almost no flame. I emailed customer support and they told me that this is a common problem and sent me an elaborate set of steps you have to do to get the griddle to work properly. They also offered me the option to purchase a different regulator hose for $30. The piece you need for this griddle to function properly is not sold with it and this is not covered in the warranty. The rest of the griddle is great, but that doesn't matter if it can't get warm. Save your money and get a different brand that works!

    Tony great to see you back again. Have you seen the new Blackstone 36' with the drain in the back of the griddle? Any feed back on how well it works, improvement I think they finally listened. Great review. I'm still very happy with my Royal Gourmet 3 burner. I see you have the camp chef FTG 900 thinking that's my next purchase very soon. Keep up the good my friend!!

      Ya I have one of the new Blackstone 36" griddles in my back yard that I am currently testing. I actually feature it towards the end of this video (9:25). They did fixed the grease issue but they didn't make any other improvements which is kind of disappointing. The quality seems to have gone down from the very first one I purchased many years ago because it seems like they tried to cut costs by cutting corners on this griddle. I use the royal gourmet weekly and its still performing awesome!

    The 18” and 22” are table top griddles. The 36” is moving towards a Professional Flat Top

    I have seen a review on the lid and the guy inserted stainless steel screws in place of the rivets.
    Thanks for the camera shot of the two H-shape burners. I wonder about the 17" griddle with only one H-shape burner, does it really get the griddle hot enough? But the two burners on the 22" with only a one pound little green propane bottle lasts about an hour to an hour & a half, at least that is what I have seen. That is a nice review you did. Thanks!

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  5 лет назад

      The little 17" griddle does get hot enough but your kind of limited to what you cook on it. You wouldn't be able to cook two different types of food on it if they required different temperature settings. For example, if your cooking burgers your heat is pretty high and you would need to let it cool down to brown your buns or you would burn them. Thats the only disadvantage of having a single burner.

    • @andrewblackburn1426
      @andrewblackburn1426 5 лет назад

      I have the 17", and I find that it really only gets hot in the center of the griddle - the edges don't get as warm as I'd like, and if you - for example, try to cook 9 French Toast slices on it, the outside ones are like half-done. For other things like bacon, onions & peppers, etc. where the uneven heat doesn't hurt as badly, it works okay.

    When cooking and you lift the lid does the grease run down the back of the unit off the lid??

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  5 лет назад

      It sure does. Its kind of annoying since the back patio is full of freaking grease. I havent been able to pressure wash it off yet since its still really cold here in Idaho so its only getting worse. On top of that grease runs down the back of the unit and gets on the floor as well. The only reason I still use it is because I can slide it up to my sliding door and use it while im standing in the house haha... Its was winter and I didnt want to freeze my butt off outside.

    • @tonybuddy123

    Hey Tony, love the videos I'm deciding between this 22 inch Blackstone and the royal gourmet (3 burner 22) which do you prefer? I will have to buy a table for the rg so it will drive the effective price up but I'm OK with that if it's the better cooker. Thanks!

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Marco! That is a very good question and its something that I have a hard time answering because I love the Royal gourmet. I have been cooking on that for over a year and Im familiar with the temp settings and the griddle overall that I find myself cooking on it over the Blackstone. BUT if push came to shove I would choose the Blackstone because I feel that its built a little better and the griddle top would probably last longer. You don't have to worry about the porcelain enamel coating on it. If you damage the surface of the Blackstone all you have to do is re-season the griddle vs replacing the royal gourmet top. Once I get familiar with the temps and cooking on the Blackstone im going to prefer it over the royal gourmet. I hope this answers your question!

      Please do keep us posted on your thoughts of this vs your beloved Royal Gourmet. My future purchase hinges on your reply, but no pressure! LOL.
      Another quickie while I'm here, full size, Rhino Razor or newest Blackstone? Camp Chef is more than I want to spend right now. Thanks and much appreciated!

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  6 лет назад

      Will do! thats a good question and I would go with the Rhino Razor. Its built better and offers more features vs. the Blackstone. Its truly a portable griddle that keeps everything together when storing or transporting. I also like the large hole they give you for the grease cup on the Blue Rhino. The Blackstone is cheaply built and I am not a fan of the rear grease management system. The vents in the back heat up the oil and doesnt have any protection from someone accidentally bumping into it. Plus your not able to put egg shells towels, ect. in the grease cup while cooking. This is a big deal once you start cooking cause you will need to have a garbage can nearby. The Blackstone and camp chef are about the same price. The camp chef comes in at 300.00 and the Blackstone varies in price and as of right now its actually 304.17. The blue rhino would be the cheapest of the bunch if your able to use a military discount at lowes or find it on sale there!

    • @Bizill75
      @Bizill75 6 лет назад

      Thanks Tony. Lowes is out of stock everywhere in my area. On sale for $269 right now and you can always snatch up another 10% off code, but can't do jack since it's outta stock!!! I figured you'd suggest the Rhino.
      Also, please let us know if you still prefer this here portable Blackstone vs your semi-portable Royal Gourmet. Much appreciated. Watched a lot of your vids and they're helping me form an opinion. Kudos.

    I've seen videos on the 17" and 22" and it looks to me that the 17" is for couples, the 22" for a family and the 32", well I'd call that the Party grill. ;-)
    Seeing a seasoning video (of 22"), despite being single I'm going to check out WalMart (or Amazon) for that setup you got.
    Just noticing; If you rotate the chairs 45 degrees around the table, your family and guests may pass by it easier (under eve).
    It's a shame the gas line (and bottle) will take up space on the side table. Maybe it would be better if they had an accessory so you could mount the bottle under the table?

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  5 лет назад

      I would agree that moving the propane location would be ideal. I didn't like the fact that it took up the shelf but its still a great griddle. Even though your single it would still be nice to have the 22" in case you have guest over. I think its a perfect size!

    Wait, you open the video by saying that you thought it was over priced and then you say that you hope the quality of the unit was compromised to account for the low price. So basically, you want a quality product for a dirt cheap price? LOL

    • @tonybuddy123
      @tonybuddy123  6 лет назад

      You misunderstood what I said. I said that the griddle by itself was overpriced at around 150.00 and that’s why I never purchased it. Then I said/meant that I hope that the quality didn’t go down to meet this price because now this bundle comes in for the same price as the griddle by itself. This tells me that the griddle was overpriced by itself if they can afford to offer this bundle at around the same price unless they lowered the quality to keep costs down. That’s why i said I hope the quality didn’t go down. I hope this clears up your misunderstanding. oh and I almost forgot LOL...
