its okay friend, new album just around the corner and there will be plenty more in the future; if not from this band, then from others that you are yet to know you love
It feels so much like Pink Maggit by Deftones. Another riff which, interestingly enough, brings forth the same exact emotions in me as the similar riff in this song, even well before I knew this song. Something about that sound, the lonely strumming of a nastily distorted guitar, screams "nostalgia for being a teen again" to me.
You know, I’m an old lady (60, holding up nicely, thank you), this is the most brilliant thing I’ve seen EVER. I’m so sad to hear that there will be a new incarnation of the band
In terms of technicalities, its really not that complex at all. Took me a couple minutes to figure out this morning. Shows that simple can be so effective sometimes.
falafel 544 there’s so much more to creating a track this powerful than just technical complexity-simple but more effective and emotionally resonating than many of the most complex math rock songs I’ve heard lol
I love how they constantly reference meme culture, yet the intro is 2 minutes long and the whole thing grabs your interest for 10 fucking mins and never lets go.
@@pavelvaysberg4232 black midi it's great. Actually black midi has collaborated with black country new road multiple times. Look up black midi new road
blown away at how good this is, especially considering how young they are. easily one of my favorite tracks of 2019. looking forward to a full length project
Every time I listen to my vinyl LP of this (which is often) I am ANGRY that they fucked with the lyrics. WHY DID YOU FUCK WITH THE LYRICS ISAAC? THEY WERE MORE THAN ADEQUATE!
@tubetardism 20/20 Well, I agree, there's definitely some Oxbow and Slint in this brew. But, nonetheless I think it's brilliant. Hoping for more releases soon!
THE ABSOLUTE PINNACLE OF BRITISH ENGINEERING
made with the finest British intentions.....to the wrong details!!!!!
Speed limit too low and too many cameras
@@markduric7812 This is always what I think of as well! Any specific word of a MES influence on this band?

Their first album literally came out last year lol.
The fact I will never see him sing this live..

heartbreaking innit?
Never say Never
God that first guitar riff just evokes adolescence and emotion to me in a way that i cant currently describe with words

June of 44, Slint...
All the interesting bands in the UK at the moment are made of members barely out of their teens
that means the 20s should be great for UK rock
What other young bands would you recommend then?
Finlay yeet Squid for sure
and black midi
Just go to the Windmill in Brixton or listen to anything associated with Speedy Wunderground!
This must have been what it was like to hear Slint when they first released a record. Phenomenal. I can't wait for the album.
whoa whoa whoa, SLINT can not be compared, my Mom listens to SLINT
yeah but the slint dudes were like in elementary school so it was a lot weirder
@@markduric7812 you have a fucking awesome mom
