You just hauled in a subscription! I've never seen a video on electric motorcycles that is so informative. Still most of it only exists of a certain talking head. I can only wonder what a fully fledged one would do to my (lack of) sleeping cycle. :-) Anyway: The info and calculations you include could even help me with my own build, assuming I'll be able to understand all of it after rechecking it in slow mo (me more intuitive engineer then calculator). The only point where you use your b-hole a bit is the remark about the chassis/pack. If you own a car you also do not throw the whole chassis away when you have a hole in your fuel tank. It is clear this thing can be split in half so repairing and even refurbishing must be feasible. Not cheap but feasible. In that respect most critisisms about the risks and costs of battery packs are a bit too pessimitic anyway. Next point: The safety software. I think that is a major vaporware issue on motorcycles. What more will such a system really do then scare you a few milliseconds earlier before you get hit? Can the motorcycle for instance jump a hole in the air to get you out of trouble and then land you with a chute? Riding a motorcycle simply contains an unavoidavle portion of risk. I can't imagine any technology that can save you from every possibility. About the modifiable ergonomics: The idea is not new (Yamaha Morpho?). Hell, even I myself already drew up such a motorcyle in '97 or '80 but if they build it at last, why not? Lastly: My bet for the vaporware against coming true factor is 75 % vapor / 25 % reality. It's basically the Mission Motors story all over agian. "We could build it but we are actually better at other stuff." Furthermore: Remember the ARC Vector motorcycle? As far as I am concerned nothing ever ticked all the boxes as much (besides the "JIKES!" price) and what came of that? Zilt!

Well done video. And I would be surprised if Damon pulls it off. The Lightning is a complete joke compared to where Damon is as far as optics. But then again Damon could just be a glossy version of Lighting taking peoples money and getting nothing in return.
Thanks for the feedback. I am optimistic about Damon, but also realistic. The time table for what they want to accomplish will likely be longer than they expect. We shall see
Very excellent and informative review on the bike. However, I can tell that this bike would definitely not be the one for me because I don't need all these sensors and technology to tell me that I ride like an a******. 🤣 This bike would always be telling me I'm almost about to collide with something.
The rider assistance features are kinda stupid in my opinion. And if they actually start adding breaking assist id call it dangerous. I want to be in full control of my motorcycle while I'm riding. Its not a car. What I do dramatically changes how the bike will behave and if the bike is breaking on its own it could result in a crash. I am very excited for electric bikes and id love to get on the track with one to see how it handles but im wish they would just start with whats already proven and just replace the ICE with an electric motor. No weird moving pegs and handlebars. Just the conventional motorcycle and in the future start experimenting with the fancy stuff
Most 200-215hp bikes now run more like 180-190mph. So that's a lie too, if the 200hp are true. Doesnt look like it's got superior aerodynamics to make up that difference. I could be wrong because i cannot evaluate aerodynamics by looks and being electric could make those easier but i dont think so given the rest of unlikely claims. The tachometer will just lie a bit more n that's that.
It’s almost Q1 of 2023 and there’s still no bikes….. they used to have a reserve price set at $10,000 for the first models now the reserve price is $250? their website says 2023 is all sold out… yet NONE have been delivered. The heaviest longest range one is the Eva ribelle i think n that's 65-100miles ridden like people do ride sporty motorcycles. Sure 120-150 maybe in the city or at some 35mph speed. So. No to the damon.
Our Energica Eva Ribelles (we own two) do about 130 miles riding relaxed sporty (35-65 curvy roads). Range increases if you tuck behind windscreen. Doing so, we recently got 135 mile range riding at 65 mph cruise on (cruise reading 70 mph because European bikes always show a faster speed estimate). I think at 75-80 mph on the highway we got the range down to 80 miles. I can't even imagine what I would have to do to get 65 mile range... 100+ mph?

Gotcha. Guess I should have done a background check on the CEO and I would have found that. Interesting
We shall see
Devel sixteen. Damon. Demonic edgy names from unknown makers should envoke some scepticism.
BTW - I saw a good deal on a MOTUS the other day, but it wasn't an S model!
You lucky SOB
I live in Ocala Florida!
Can the Metacycle borrow some range 😩
Haha right? Metacycle with a baby trailer full of batteries could go 200+ miles.
Damn that was an intelligent diss! 🤣
Triumph is claiming their new electric motor is 180hp for 22pounds. Power density is getting severe on electric motors.
It’s almost Q1 of 2023 and there’s still no bikes….. they used to have a reserve price set at $10,000 for the first models now the reserve price is $250? their website says 2023 is all sold out… yet NONE have been delivered. They’re in another country taking your $. I don’t think this is a real business at all
Yeap got my confirmation and my bike is getting delivered 2024
Ordered it 2 and half years ago SMH🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I wonder if he'd consider branching out only slightly and doing his due diligence on the new electric Aptera?
It's q4 (patiently waits)
Shift ?
should have called it "HYPERERGOMORPHIC"
100+ mph?
@@OrlandoRick maybe. I think i got that number cause it was mentioned in a 1000ps review. Perhaps it was uphill. Enter schaaf cb500. Ride like that guy but faster, a cb500 has its limits of course. And. I can tell you that's a thing.
@@OrlandoRick was a different model, said mostly 150km but adi, the guy selling or renting em guarantees 100km.so. Guess someone drained it in 110-120km once. www.1000ps.de/testbericht-3005692-energica-eva-esseesse9-2019-test-fazit
300mm rotors are smaller, even if it were a 450lb bike
I don't like the way how damon advertising this. They don't like to talk about how heavy the bike is. They won't tell how long the battery lasts, if going full throttle. And how many years is battery lifetime and how much new battery costs..
Where are we going to get all the mine the minerals required to run all these EVs
Please!!! Compare with Zero Motocycles, HD, Energica etc...
200 mph on a motorcycle.... nope!
well, its late 2022 now, still none delivered as far as I can find... Thanks China virus.
they claim to start delivery in early 2023
Fact checking their stats false. 150kw = 201 hp :P
Great video. This kind of bike isn't for me.
All this math
You're right, we need less math and more B.S. I'm on it
@@trowantechworks no I admire his effort he put into this video
@@FDGREAPER ah gotcha. I misunderstood. Thanks for the feedback!
How can they say they’ve reduced maintenance but retained a drive chain?? Chains are inefficient, noisey and filthy. Belt or shaft please. Aha ok you lost me at QNX. That like running spaceX on windows 95! I certainly wouldn’t put my life and safety into the hand of BlackBerry OR Microsoft.
*all we want is a electric sport bike we don’t want all this useless technology*
Your moms not even this boring.
Thank you for this riveting, exceptional dialogue. You've given me so much to think about
