That was a great explanation. I like the combi of cockpit and whiteboard to explain the theory. I just started to fly the pmdg 737 and then this helped! TY!
We were flying in the PH-nic simulator but really did not understand VNAV. But with some tutorials we almost got it. After watching your video it makes it 100% clear. After all its logical but to find out yourself without help it stays unclear. We will now VNAV like a pro. Watch our next video. Thanks for your excellent tutorial.
One of the best explanations about the subject. I've been simming for a long time I finally understand of vnav path vs vnav speed. I used to dive like crazy using flight level change if I was too high.
Excellent instruction. Cleared up a lot of things for me. I would also like to have more info on how to actually set up VNAV in preflight. TY for the video.
Yes. Also important to note that VNAV PTH is only true if you are on your target speed (whatever your speed is in the FMC DES page). I have seen many guys trip up over this.
Thanks a lot and the best VNAV explanation. Learned a lot where any other person have not shown. By the way, appriciate more closer screen shots of the FMC when you input parameters. But you have to do lot of editing. Very very good explanation of VNAV.
If we fly well past our T/D, I'd ask ATC for some extra track miles and follow a normal descent, rather than subject the plane and passengers to an uncomfortable steep descent.
Thanks for watching. I usually try to recover the patch with LVL CHG, if thats not enough, VS -4000 SPD BRK, and if I cannot recover there, its more track miles. Rarely we need more track miles though, as we usually plan our descend and expected lateral navigation into the FMC before descend. That way we mitigate high energy approach 99% of the time. Thanks for your comment
Hi, VNAV PTH means you are ON the calculated VNAV Descend path. If you are above your VNAV Path, it will show VNAV SPD in the FMA on the PFD. To fix this, try and press SPD INTV on the MCP and increase the speed to maybe 300 kt until you are back on the path. If you start your descend before your T/D point, VNAV will go into VNAV PTH with a 1000 ft per min descend until you are on the VNAV PTH. :-))
@@9milesup he is probably asking how to change from vnav speed to vnav path. When you are descending on VNAV path, click on des button on cdu, you may select vnav speed from there and also you can change the descend speed from this page, same thing if you are on vnav speed and you want to change for vnav path.
Currently, I'm doing Type Rating for 737. Your video I found the best explaining VNAV. Thank you so much.
Best vnav explanation I’ve ever heard!

Excellent..... at last someone with real world experience that can explain things clearly with practical examples. Would love to see more!
The best VNAV explanation on YT. Thanks a lot!

Thank you. The best vnav tutorial I have watched. I now understand much much more about the 737.
Excellent instruction. Cleared up a lot of things for me. I would also like to have more info on how to actually set up VNAV in preflight. TY for the video.
Brilliant. I never realized Vnav was like Level Chg. Makes total sense!

im doing the type rating for Ryanair and was very useful for me, thanks!
God i love the little coloured lines and dot's, love learning more everyday even at my age, nice content thanks.
Excellent video:-) Very helpful with the changes between the simulator and the colored drawings of the decent profiles.
best VNAV explanation i have ever seen, Thanks dude!
Great video. However, at 24:43 you said hit SPD INTV when you are pressing ALT INTV. Mentioned it earlier in the video as well.
Great stuff. Someone explaining it like this makes so much sense. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
Excellent video. I think I am beginning to understand the intricacies of Vnav a lot better. Thank you!
A gem of a channel this.
A video on different types of VNAV approaches soon?
Best video I have seen so far. Hope lots of new ones soon. Thanks for sharing
This was a very useful video. Tnx a lot for explaining, now it is clear for me houw VNAV works. Tnx
Thats an amazing explanation ... i hope you make a playlist of 737 related videos! Great Work!
Thank you, I learned that I know nothing :) Seriously, I have a lot to learn about the 737, so thank you and I look forward to more videos from you. x
You are a real master sir! I appreciate your.

excellent explanation
This is Gold. Thank You so much!
Amazing video! Continue...
Awesome graphics!
Perfect explain !!
Very nice, however in speed restriction prompt set speed 10kts below the published speed restricrion. It is written in fcom 11 chapter
What plugin are you using to make the konb you are hovering over light up blue? Thanks!
Great thx, teacher
Thank you for the explanation. But can we use speedbrake in VNAV case we’re high to get back to VNAV PTH ?
Yo i would love to see this in A c700
❤
merci. meme si je comprend pas tout ;)
how do you set the vnav to vnav pth? i really need help and im confused

4000 fpm is doable in the real world?
Absolutely :-))
