I know that people bash Tag Heuer, but I really like their designs. I've always wanted a Carrera. I gave my Aquaracer to my Dad and he prefers wearing that over his 'Date Just' Rolex. And not because of any sentimental reason. He just likes the way it sits on his wrist. It keeps excellent time too.
People that bash them are just being trendy and snobby. I think they have kept their prices reasonable and their quality high unlike other brands whose prices have gone through the roof.
@@bighands69 You are right. It's basically trendy and popular to bash the brand. No company has never ever made mistakes, but if you only listen to the dreadful anti-Tag Heuer echochamber you will think that they have never ever done anything right!
Tag Heuer is a great brand. This coming from someone who owns brands over 10k. Don’t worry what a FEW say. They are just loud repeating what they hear never owning one.
Admittedly, TAG has done some weird things-like inexplicably releasing a bunch of cheap quartz models for a period, slapping the TAG name on Seiko movements, etc., which is probably why some people consider TAGs to be substandard. But I agree with you that today’s TAG is entirely different. They make great watches that are both aesthetically pleasing and well constructed.
i grew up always wanting a Tag Heuer Carrera, but along the way there were several reports and rumours that didnt put the brand in a rather good light. But, regardless of its rep, Tag was still at the top of the watch that I would like to own one day. Fast forward to early this year... I pulled the trigger and got myself a Tag Heuer Carrera date and love it a lot
This was a great review and I'm really glad that, on the odd occasion, a fair review of Tag Heuer comes up. I actually bought a very similar-looking previous version of this very watch (Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 Date) as my first luxury watch after getting my first ever job after finishing university, and for pretty much the same reasons you cited. Now it is one of a very small collection of watches that I love and that I purchased to commemorate significant moments in my life. Nearly a decade later, I have just had the watch serviced for the first time. Despite having other, mostly more expensive, options in my watch box, I keep returning to this, my first, and will continue to enjoy wearing it into the next decade.
Tag Heuer has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid. My aunt introduced me to the brand in the 90s. She had an Aquaracer. I used to think it was awesome. Now I am 39 years old and STILL Tag Heuer is one of my top 5 favorite luxury watch brands.
Love the heritage and connection with Porsche with this watch. It's iconic. The shape and size of the Carrera make it one of the nicest looking luxury watches on the market. There's a reason tag are officially in the top 10 of best selling luxury watches in the world.
This reminds me a lot of the design Omega put into the Seamaster Aqua Terra: take a very iconic sports watch, remove 20% of ‘sport’ and add 20% of ‘dress’ and it becomes a very versatile watch!
This is my fist lux watch ever. I got it for it not going over the top. its something i can use every day. So yeah its a good first step in to this world. I can feel both caual and lux with this thing.
So after years of watching watch videos, RUclips reviews, etc… my first “Luxury “ watch was the Carrera 3 hand in white. It’s foreground in person, not in your face but has great play with the different finished bracelet and faceted indices. I can’t really tell if I should use as a sporty watch or dress… but I tend to reserve it for when I wear a “collared” shirt/ polo. Yes even after all the snobs bashed the brand and yes I know they 1887 debacle and yes I know they had wacky 90’s watches but time to wake up. OMg they use an ETA or Selitta ..poo poo then you hear “ oh this Tudor smiley uses ETA and is a collectible” The experts talk out both sides of their mouth. Glad this video is there to show a true unbiased video and give it a true perspective. 2nd luxury purchase was .. a 300M Tag Heuer Aquaracer in Blue. 3rd. Cartier Santos Large for the wife :)
The previous iteration WAR021E was noticeably more elegant than the WBN2012 update. The markers were slightly wedge shaped compared to the plain vanilla update.
My first and onlly “luxury”. Wearing it for daily office and suit days. I find this perfect so far. Pretty low profile. Not show off. But elegant enough.
I just bought my Carrera three hands day date 41mm with blue alligator strap… still need to wait for my birthday end of May to have it at my wrist.. eager :-)
I have a 2009 Carrera Twin time.Black dial on black croc strap and the best deployment around. Its a lovely watch.Suits me at 39mm.My largest watch.Tag get stick bug you made such a good point with regard go younger buyers.Carrera is their flag ship and they are defo going the in the right direction.Nice vid 👍
I just bought the 39mm in blue as I have smaller than average wrists, had my heart set on the black dial but when I saw it in person it looked more grey than black to me and was disappointed with the colour, so went with the dark blue instead as it looked lovely
I think it's strange that watch channels, who are effectively salespeople, say things like "a Tag is an entry level this", or "first luxury watch". If it's either of those, it's because it's a good watch. It's equally good for folks with expensive collections that don't want to wear their $5k+ watches for whatever reason. It has it's own style and heritage, and can be properly worn as such, with the benefit of servicing being only a bit more than something like a Hamilton. One of the reasons I probably wouldn't buy a Tudor is because it's raison d'etre is almost entirely "short-of-Rolex". The 925 was kinda cool.
Looks so good I bought one. I'm pretty damn sure it has a top grade SW200. I can tell because Sellita only puts Incabloc shock absorbing mechanism on the Top or COSC grades. Novodiac is put on the lower grades Base and Elabore. Really damn good watch. Proportions = perfect. Lume = yes. 100m WR = good for anything I do. Movement = proven and reliable, easily serviceable. Heritage/History = yes. Also, is Tag Heuer quality improving?
Thank you for another great video, helps factor into my decision. Was wondering if you would choose this Tag Heuer Carrera-41mm or the Longines Legend Diver-42mm-Milanese bracelet for a dress watch?
Thank you! Really appreciate that. It's a difficult one. I think both are incredible for different situations. I think the Longines is slightly more dressy though so would maybe side with that!
Nice review, but a watch that costs £2700 is not a "beginners" luxury watch. To be honest, most people buy one watch and keep it until its all beaten up. Only watch forum geeks have multiple watches ..
The problem is the movement , its not inhouse and its a cheap movement to, so its overpriced way to much. Yes it looks good but not paying 3400€ for a watch that just looks good .
Tag Heuer is NEVER a good idea for a first time watch. You will lose money on them and the majority of watch experts and collectors alike hare this company!
Watches are jewelry. Tag Heuer is a company that has understood this very well. They make great jewelry. They don't go to extremes in finishing and decorating movements. Serves no purpose. Even the dirt cheap chinese movements made by machines, will last two lifetimes.
If you want to wear something that is good quality, reliable, and non watch people will recognize buy a TAG- third most name recognized watch maker in the world--- and they make great watches---- watches for the common man and what the common man/middle class man can afford are NOT INVESTMENTS- they are meant to be worn and passed down.... I have way more respect for the guy who saves for a year and pays cash for a 3,000-5,000 TH watch than the flipper who has no clue about hard work and earning a watch buying an AP---

Bravo To You 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I just did the same! Absolutely love it. 🔥🔥🔥
I got the black dial day/date version a few years ago. Was my first step into the luxury watch market. Still wear it every day at the office. Love it.

Thanks bro, I was looking at this watch and your story made me know it's the right one
That 41mm blue dial is GORGEOUS!!!
I'm biased because I love blue dials 😀.
My first Luxury watch that got me into the game was Aquaracer 41 when I was 25 8 years ago! Truly a great entry level luxury brand!

Bought the carrera and worn it everyday. Works perfect.
Got one of these for my 21st birthday, my first high end watch. I love it.

Concordo.
39mm would be my choice.. Blue and grey are stunning

Can’t wait for mine to arrive! 😬
Can't wait to get another Tag in my collection.
6 years of everyday use, no scratches on the glass +6 s/day. Recommend

Tag is a great brand. I own the 41 blue one..
I prefer the silver dial but in the 39mm. I find anything much bigger to look like a parity of a true classic watch.

Great watch! How do you like it
@@torontowatches9709 I really like it, love the way the light reflects off the dial, case and the bracelet
Tag makes amazing bracelets and construction that watch will last you a lifetime! Awesome bud enjoy it! Beautiful timepiece

What is your wrist size mate?

Good video mate. However, I like the previous Caliber 5 more. I think the details are nicer. Cheers
Beautiful entry level luxury watch. Great daily.
A perfect every day wearer!
Heuer is a true Swiss legend.
Cheerios for having short videos. 👍
Tag heuer❤ more appeal than rolex.
This is in my wishlist.
39mm black is the best.

Amazing watch!!
Hi , could you tell me lug to lug distance of tag heuer carrera 41mm ? Thanks
All this "resale" stuff gives me a chuckle. I buy a watch...to TELL TIME...not for "resale valule".
That was an advert, not a review.
5:02 Im pretty sure the lug to lug distance is not 21.5mm
Infomercial with no criticism at all or technical description
Get tf out then
What you call lug to lug is not actually lug to lug ... you're just mentioning lug size
Sorry but was I watching the QVC network?
Big mistake on the Tiger woods endorsement...

It’s not tag, it’s pronounced tawg
