Carol Stewart 8 seconds ago I use rubber mulch and prefer it over wood mulch, it holds it's color and is easy to put down. Whereas regular wood mulch falls apart, loses it's color and is a mess to put down. Also wood mulch attracts termites!😱
So I have two brick beds in front of my house that grows back every year a plant. Do I get rid of the plant when I lay the rubber mulch down? I was thinking of putting a fake plant but I kinda wouldn't mind nothing but the rubber mulch bc I don't want the plants to get pushed out or somehow the wind end up having it in the yard knocked out. My friend always have dto reposition his fake plants back in the ground. Don't know if squirrels or nature keeps uprooting them. but I want a pretty yard without the green thumb work. I'm sick of remulching once a year
Place some old cardboard down before the rubber mulch and it will keep weeds out and breakdown slowly over time. It also helps retain a little water for your plants. Plus it's a great way to recycle even more.
Try to keep it in big piece, over lap them a bit, and make sure to remove any tape. Otherwise you'll get grass sprouting through the cracks. Tape will also pop up if not removed.
would be better just to have a 3 or 4 foot wide rubber mulch mate wont blow away easy to get fall leaves off .going to start to glue my pieces together thanks for the idea
Well as for my mulch, the color still looks like the day I got it... I'm going on to 3 years with this mulch and it still looks good. The only issue is that "yard debris" tends to build up over time making it a little difficult to clean everything out, but the Mulch still looks new.
@@Mr-Chris thank you for the reply. Have you experienced any color rubbing off? I have kids that will be playing on or around the area. Does it stain clothes or shoes?
Due to your review I will not be going the rubber mulch route. It’s not for me because the biggest turn off is that it’s rubber, and it will still be rubber 100 years from now. I do applaud the convenience of it all though.
Yeah its kinda like Astroturf for your garden if you think about it. At some point of time, I will need to manually pick up all these pieces up and throw it away. The thing I like is that it never loses it's color and looks new all the time and is low maintenance.
Did you watch the video? He doesn’t need nutrients, he doesn’t plant anything. He wants tidy looking beds without having to spread mulch every year. Ps: I’m sure he likes his home and rubber mulch just fine, but thanks for the ridiculous condo suggestion. 😂
Use mulch glue and it's easy to sweep out of beds or pathways

Change the thumbnail otherwise people think you are showing a snake
dvxAznxvb omg so true
Agreed! I thought it was about snakes in a yard

I did the same thing no weeds so far!
Huh good to know , I have a lot of old cardboard, and I’m not trying to buy plastic liner, thanks 👍

@@Red-kn6kl sounds good I’ll do that👍
I have rubber mulch in one area. Never attracted that green striped snake. :)

Does the rubber mulch harm the plants and trees?
is the made from tires?
Correct it's made from tires.
Been looking at this product for some time now. How is the color fade? More specifically, red?

It's so safe you can eat it.
Not advised to eat wood mulch either. Especially if it's stained to your favorite color.
Should go with a glued in rubber mulch solution. Won't blow away with a leaf blower.
Have you tried this? This is my biggest issue with rubber mulch. It blows away too easily.
Blow it with a blow dryer with settings on low and cool. I found rubber mulch maintenance is minimal compare to the mulch
Do you have issues with webs on your rubber mulch. I have rubber mulch around my tree but have several webs even when I take them off
webs? spider webs?
Explain? I will stick to wood mulch if spiders are frequent on the rubber mulch bc I hate spiders
My neighbors put rubber mulch in their yard. On hot days it smells like a tire center.🤢
Imagine it gets hot. Not good for plants and dries soil out faster which could cause foundation issues down the road. I would never use this product.

Dude talking about the durability and how it's holding color. Don't care about rodents and clippings!!!!
Who cares about rodents? Are you from Earth?

It won't decompose. You want your mulch to decompose to add nutrients to your soil. If you don't want to re-mulch, buy a condo.
He can do what he wants and use rubber mulch if he wants. Who are you to tell him to buy a condo?
C'mon. What a dumb comment.
pretty sure he lives in america and he can buy and do what he wants with his money. if you disagree maybe you should go live in a communist country.
