- I wish EVERY Gen X 80s kid could have had a cassette winder like I did! Or would you have rather just used the pencil? I still use this today!

I always used the trusty eraser side of a pencil. Never knew there was a tool for it.
I always struggled to use the tip of my pinky finger. I did not have a pencil or a tape winder 😉
Your dad is an awesome man for giving you that rewind thingy. 😎✌️
13 years later and he's still rocking that bowl cut like a champ
The way you recorded this, I THOUGHT THE VIDEO SAID 8 YEARS AGO!!! Then I went to your channel page and saw it was only 8 days ago. Amazing how low quality video and audio can produce such an illusion, as long as you don't show something from present-day.
It looks like that part that Luke took off R2D2 when it was showing the Princess Leia holgram to Obi Wan
I wish I had one of those as a kid! I remember I got a Beastie Boys tape in 1987, and right after i listened to the 4th or 5th song, the tape was completely ruined.
Never had one of these gadgets, but I really like my DVD rewinder.
Yep, I remember them days... 83-92, I liked maxell
I did that thing where you stuck your pinky in and spun the cassette round like a yoyo.
Wow! I just picked up an old cassette 4 track. I should look into one of those just in case! Thanks, Weird Paul!
I have never seen one of those. And I'm 57. Very cool and handy. I got 5 -6 cassette tape players, and they all have gobbled up a tape. So the tapes are on standby.
A 'BIC' ballpoint pen is and was better than a pencil, as it has a tapered body and could be inserted in the hole without passing completely through it. Pencils would be a popular choice for American kids to rewind their tapes, as American school children were/are required to use pencils and not ink pens for their work, for some reason. Cheers.
I'm a song making of Meet John Doe (Reprise) that's right here
Dude, you are one badass dude!
Holy smokes!! Your Dad was a genius! I've never seen one of those before!
Never knew that tool existed. I always used my finger tip to slowly, very slowly reel the tape back in :|
I did as well but one time my pinkie got stuck, 🤘
imagine that someday in the 2050s there will be a guy like this on the internet, but instead of talking about stuff from the 80's, it's the 2020s instead
Never knew such a device existed until now. As a gen X'er, I shall go hang my head in shame!
Cool!

thank you for blowing my mind weird paul
Amazing!
Clever gadget
Awesome!
This seems like it should be saying it was posted at the birth of RUclips
Frickin' sweet device...🤘🏼💯✔️
he's an og
Scissors or a pencil or pen if it was the right shape and if the tape split I would open up the cassette tape and stick both ends of the tape together with a small bit of sticky tape this operation could take a few to several attempts
I might not be from that time but i use to use pen or pencils to do that on other stuff
Hey Paul, how are you doing?
Ah the back thens 🥰
Thought it was a cigarette lighter
Ho...Leeee...Sh..... Never knew.
Crank it to 11.
Like Weird Paul
Nice
ummm dude, you don't just put the pencil tip in and use it to push the little spikes, you push the pencil in further and use the body of the pencil as it catches all of spikes, then you just spin the pencil, just like your little knob does. lmao
My boy George album keep getting stuck in the tape player 😢
This doesn't involve smoking weed.
meh. Pencil or scissors worked just fine. Cool little knob though.
Interesting
GASP! Thou hast discovered the secrets of the gods! Holy Mount Olympics! I'm an old geezer born on the outer rims of the 50s, and all through these years I have not seen this gizmo till now! Oh I heard rumors of some magical device to rewind cassettes without using your pinky or pencil, but I presumed as others that it was lore or someone was doing a little too much LDS in the 60. 🤯
Hey, wow, what, huh?? Say, Weird Paul, you’re talking too high tech for my meager tastes! A cassette rewinder knobby? I used the eraser tip side of a trusty no 2 pencil. Worked fine by me, after my pinky failed to do the job. Speaking of pencils, teachers always used to push the no 2s on us. Pencils had to be no2, or you were penalized for breaking the law! Why was that? How many numbered pencils were there, or still are?? Why did they come in a uniform color??? No rainbow variety a la Crayola???? Let us take a moment to ponder the hard questions. Together. Here.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Teachers still require #2 pencils. And not only that, my grandson's school requires Ticonderoga pencils only. I never pondered why pencils were yellow... maybe to match the school bus. Ticonderoga #2 pencils also come in black wood silver or pastels. But I'm going to assume alternate colors are not allowed by the pencil police at his school. ✏✏✏✏✏✏✏

I have never seen one of these! Hahahaa
